"Graphy by Dawn"
All of the hotel staff were friendly and helpful. They spoke superb English, for times when my Japanese language skills were a little rusty. The room was large for Tokyo, and the beds were comfy. The bathroom was small, but good enough for my needs. I especially enjoyed having a community kitchen available where I could cook meals. A rare find. It saved […] money from having to eat at restaurants every day. The neighborhood is quiet. Walking to Ueno Station every day through Ueno Park was relaxing and gave me a nice fresh start to the morning. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Hotel felt like a really nice dorm. The kitchen was well equipped and the downstairs area was comfortable and chic. The room was small, but who cares, you're in Tokyo! The women's bathroom was nice since there was a soaking tub.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"pretty fantastic kind of hotel"
Hotel is pretty. Room is clean and comfortable although it was bit small just like any Japanese hotel. Kitchen was clean and very well organized, it has all things you need to cook by yourself. Washroom requires a bit detailed cleaning. Also wifi at my room wasn't usable. I needed to go out and be closer to wifi modem or going down to the lounge.Genuine Expedia guest review
Good location, rooms a bit small, but ok. Very clean.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was very hard to find the location It says near Ueno station but not clearly shows how to get there We took quite a long time to find this hotel and at airport nobody knew this hotelGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very difficult to find"
Over all we had a good experience. The place was in a difficult to find location . I got lost 3 times before I got my barrings straight. Once that was figured out it was okay. Close to transit and Ueno Park. Very clean facility. Comfortable beds.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice facility but poor service"
The facility itself was very clean and stylish. However, there is no elevator for those who need to carry heavy luggage. I stayed there for seven nights, but once the room was not cleaned (it is a hotel and each room is promised to be cleaned everyday unless you hang a do-not-disturb sign during their cleaning hours). On my sixth night, my used towels […] were removed from the room but not replaced with new one. So I needed to take shower without any towel. I realized it late at night when nobody was at the check-in counter at the entrance. I didn't bother to complain because there is no number to which guests can call when no staff is available and there is no room phone (though the facility claims itself a hotel). Plus the package delivered to me a day before my arrival was not received by the hotel staff and returned it to the delivery company. I called the hotel what is going on, and their response was that they couldn't find my name as a guest since I booked the hotel through Hotels.com from overseas. Ridiculous! All these details accumulated, and out of frustration I didn't stay another extra night although this necessity arose toward the end of my stay. It's a pity since the facility is pretty good, and the café/bar on the ground floor is a pleasant place with nice wait staff members. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Everything is perfectly comfortable."
I felt very fortunate to find this cute hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I love this hotel excellent price and location and very clean!Genuine Expedia guest review
This is what I might consider a luxury Hostel. Extremely clean, great staff, great location and really great value. The only thing I didn't like was walking to a different floor to shower--but for the price in Tokyo and the comfort of staying in this clean hotel, it was a minor inconvenience.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Cool hotel, nice staff."
Nice place, a bit of a walk from Uneo train station through the park. Highly recommend this one.Genuine Expedia guest review

"a good place to stay"
A clean and comfortable place to stay, if you don't mind shared bath facilities. Kitchen, lounge and laundry facilities were nice. A bit far from the station. Service was excellent, although front desk service is limited. Will probably stay there again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nothing fancy, very comfortable"
This place is set up for short or longer term stays. Desk staff from 3pm to 9pm only. English speaking when we checked in. Common space for kitchen and dining, common lounge area, baths, relaxation space. It is located in a nice quiet neighborhood. Walking distance to Ueno park/station and Nezu subway (in the other direction). We stayed in a deluxe […] corner room with private bath and found it quite spacious. Wi-fi patchy in the room but great in the lounge. Japanese style no shoes set up (a shoe locker is provided at the door. I'd stay again for sure. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Would return again :)"
We stayed here for five nights in December, in a room with an attached bathroom. The place was clean and comfortable, and we were lucky to have been on the second floor as there was no elevator, which might be slightly inconvenient for those with a lot of luggage. We absolutely loved the location, which has many quaint little eateries and bars just […] 5 minutes away on foot, and a cafe/bar just downstairs. "Sandwich, Sandwich, Sandwich"
Great place to stay! We enjoyed it very much and would stay again. However if you're going to get the breakfast deal included just be aware that the only breakfast they offer is one type of sandwich, we stayed 9 nights. 10 days of the same sandwich day after day is not fun. They really need to extend their breakfast menu. As everyone above has mentioned […] checkin is at 3pm. This sucks, especially when you fly in to tokyo at 7am. And then you get there and all they have to offer is a sandwich, that same sandwich you will have for the rest of your days in japan. The only other issue we had was with housekeeping, their services were great. Although, It was just the time they began working. When you're on holiday you don't particularly won't to be woken by vacuuming at 8am. Which confused me, if they're up so early cleaning the rooms, why do people have to wait until 3pm to check in. It's a relatively new hotel, so there are some things that need ironing out. But above all it was a great place to stay, everything was clean, the location was great and staff were super friendly, even though they would only make sandwiches in the morning. "A gem in Nezu"
No frills accommodation in a different side of Tokyo. Nice interiors and well-maintained facilities. Will be great if there are translations for the Remote control to the air conditioner/heater. Pretty quiet neighborhood - good for strolling and stumble-upons. An alternative to getting to Narita if you don't wanna walk 1.2km to Keisei. Take Chiyoda […] line from Nezu to Nishi-nippori. "Real enjoyable trip"
When we were choosing the hotel for our trip to Tokyo, we knew we wanted a hotel experience that is different than what we get back home, so we thought we will give Hotel Graphy a try- When we arrive, the room is true to the photo, very nice and clean. Staffs are friendly and helpful. There is a shared lounge area on the ground floor, equipped with […] a few kitchenette, wifi and TV. Good value for the hotel price. Great location, 15 mins walk from JR station and 5 mins from the closest metro station. Also there is couple great museum near by within 15 mins walk. Quiet, extremely clean hotel. Friendly & helpful staff. Close to Ueno & Nezu stations. Will stay there again for sure. Hotel Graphy Nezu is a new boutique hostel (I will call it that because it had shared bathrooms) nestled in a quiet section of Ueno. The area it is in is residential. On one side you have Tokyo University, all of the museums and Ueno Park. A short walk to Ueno station where you can depart on your adventures. On the other side is the trendy neighbourhood […] of Nezu which is a hipster's dream. The room is very nicely furnished in the minimalist Japanese style one would expect. There is a mini-fridge, kettle and hairdryer in the room. The shared bathrooms and toilets were very well maintained - cleaned at the same time every day. The rooms are cleaned very efficiently and discreetly. I feel bad for some of the housekeeping staff after messing up some parts of the room on the first couple of nights there. Everything was really cool. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Old Tokyo neighbourhood, great for self-caterers"
Nezu neighbourhood is excellent for an old Tokyo feel away from tourist masses and the busy neon lights of new Tokyo places like Shinjuku and Shibuya (those are about a 30 minute JR or metro ride away). Cheap supermarket with great ready made Japanese meals is only 5 minutes away. Kitchen facilities had everything we needed to cook. Rooms made up every […] day and were always spotless. So were the shared bathrooms and shower. There was a choice between Japanese-style shower and a Western shower. Air conditioned, great wifi, easy check in, friendly staff always greeted you. "Quiet home away from home"
Hotel Graphy is tucked away in a quiet corner of Nezu -- its a great place to explore downtown, old Tokyo and is close enough to the subway station for it to be a good base to wander around other parts. The staff were always ready to answer any questions we had, and always greeted us pleasantly when we left and returned. The entire property does not […] have lifts so if you have a lot of luggage or elderly members of your party, we highly recommend requesting for a room on a lower floor. Our only gripe was that the rooms weren't always very clean -- there was leftover rubbish from the previous occupants under the bed, and an instance where other rubbish found its way into our room. "Close to Ueno Park"
The hotel is close to Ueno (Wi-a-no) Park. It was difficult to find on the first day. The hotel is located in a mainly residential area. If you are travelling from Ueno Station. Use the Park Gate exit. Then after crossing the road stay right. Follow the path until you see the Starbucks. Take any of the paths to the right of the Starbucks until you reach […] the road. Stay on the left side of the road heading straight. You will pass a restroom on your left and a coffee shop on your right. Continue to the end of the road and turn left. Turn left at the next two intersections. You will pass a school on your left. Take the first street on your right until the reach the end. Turn right and cross the road. Take the first street on your left. The hotel is on your left about 200M. The room was very clean. The bathroom is shared. It had two showers, full bathroom (bath and shower), toilet (western), and a face basin. For your privacy curtains were provided for the showers and full bathroom. Shampoo, conditioner, and soap were provided in each shower room. The hotel also sells laundry soap for ¥200. However, washing and drying is free. If you plan to use these machines give yourself enough time. They said the washing and drying could take up to 4hrs. If you are a sensitive sleeper then bring ear plugs. Because, sometimes the neighbours get noisy. There is a café and bar downstairs. Checking-in and checking-out were quick. There are convenience stores close by. "Convenient for the Gedai university"
My wife and I were in Tokyo for a conference at the university and the Graphy Nezu was the closest reasonably priced Hotel. It was great and we will use it again. "Perfect place to stay"
It's a 5 min walk to the nearest subway station (Nezu station). Tried to use Google to get the cheapest fare compared to taking the nearest JR train station (which is Ueno station) - very effective and accurate. The hotel is clean and has enough cooking facilities (has 5 cooking ranges, 3 microwave units, 2 bread toasters, 2 rice cookers, kettles, coffee […] maker, BBQ grills, 2 big fridges, and everything else you need in cooking. Daily housekeeping is a plus factor. They provide bath towels, hand towels, toothbrush and paste, hair dryer, cotton buds and cotton pad for makeup removal. Free use of washing machine and dryer. You can get a laundry powder at the reception for JPY200. Rental bike to move around is also available. Great lounge area to relax and socialize. The only setback is that there is no elevator. Toilets and bathrooms are enough, no queuing. They have a café, which is also handy. Nearby stores and supermarket are available. A 24H Yoshinoya is around the corner. I loved the place - simple and elegant. Staff super friendly, helpful and english speaking. Rooms were modern and clean with comfortable bed. "Hidden in the Tokyo concrete jungle"
Hotel Graphy Nezu was at first difficult to find - located beyond Ueno park and hidden in a residential area, it is a 10 minute walk from Ueno station. Within walking distance from Akihabara and various major train stations, it was a great starting point for activities with plenty of eateries and shopping stores within close reach. The room and facilities […] were clean and well kept and the common lounge areas were immensely enjoyed. A few drawbacks included the lack of an elevator to service the flour levels and wifi that didn't reach all rooms - but none the less a pleasant and recommended stay. My husband and I stayed at the hotel for 3 days. The staff were accommodating and speaks fairly good english. Finding the hotel can be difficult if you intend to walk there and not catch a taxi. It is in a neighborhood that consists of narrow streets and a lot of suburban housing. We felt safe walking around at night though, so that was fine. Both the small and large double rooms were quite small, the twin room had a little more floor room. The whole idea of […] the place is interesting and if you like to meet other travelers it can be a great place to do so in the communal kitchen or lounge. There is a lot of communal space to hang about it which is really nice and is a good place for a group to travel in because you can be separate and also hang together in the large communal areas rather than in one person's room. I didn't expect the place to be so big, there was 4 floors with quite a few rooms. I noticed a bit of hair on the ground both in our rooms and communal areas but that's my only real complaint as such about the place. Overall it was an enjoyable place to stay. I liked the place, I stayed there twice on my visit to Japan. The first time in a double room with bathroom and the second in a single room with shared bathroom. "Quiet hostel tucked in an old neighborhood"
The hotel (more like a hostel) is new and modern. I stayed there for 2 weeks and was very comfortable. The English specking staffs are around only from 3pm-9pm and I have communication problem with the Japanese specking housekeepers when I want to arrange for delivery or housekeeping matter. The toilet/washroom are all sharing and only the the 2nd […] floor has the male shower rooms and 3rd floor has the female showers room. I stayed on the 3rd floor and have to climb the stairs everything I need a shower. The ground floor has a hugh kitchen, which is great for cooking simple meal though I hardly used it. There is no check out procedure. I was told to just leave the room key in my room by 10 am upon checking out when I check in. They also required full payment during check it and they didn't request to check my passport or ID. Try to check in before sunset as the streets can be rather confusing in the dark. I lost my way a few time at night when I walk back from the metro station. Overall, the hotel was present to stay and the staffs leave you alone. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

I booked this as I was a lone traveller and quite liked the idea of having a communal space to meet people, without being in a grubby hostel. This place was perfect! The rooms were spotless, the bathrooms, laundry rooms and all communal areas were also very clean […] and well equipped. They provided a new towel everyday, free detergent for the washer/dryer plus had many other amenities. Great. Only drawback is that it does abide by the opening hours mentioned.. Don't arrive before 3pm or after 9pm unless you want to try and squeeze in when someone else is leaving/coming back. Situated very close to Ueno station and Park, straight off the fast train from Narita and although in a backstreet isn't as big a deal as some people seem to have found it.
