"Not like the first time"
My husband and I stayed in the SP in Jaipur in March 2013. We had a GREAT experience. I took my daughter back there in July 2014 and the experience was not pleasant. We were treated with disdain by the staff. We were put on a hall where renovations were being made. We could not even breath because the fumes from whatever chemicals they were using were […] everywhere. They moved us after a day of complaints. But then we had much trouble with the internet service and it took 3 days of our 5 day stay in Jaipur for them to rectify this. We had the same problems with rudeness and internet at the SP in Mumbai. There, they sent the BELLMAN to help, which was no help at all. I am a business traveler and while most of my trips to India are for holidays, I still have to be connected to work. The language barrier was not easy to navigate. The staff could not understand us and we do not understand Hindi... and I can't help but wonder if we were treated rudely by the staff because we were women. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"A Business Oasis In The Midst Of Mumbai Chaos"
This small business hotel achieves a true Western-level standard...especially with respect to similarly-priced alternatives in Mumbai. In U.S. terms, it is equivalent to nicer Quality Inn, Holiday Inn, or the lowest-level Marriott. Nothing fancy here. Just clean rooms, comfy beds, good bathrooms, basic gym and business center. The little restaurant […] has very good food at reasonable prices. The staff is very nice and helpful. There were only two issues. First, I ran across were an improper online listing saying that breakfast was included. I had to pay 450 rupees (about $7.20) each morning I chose to eat the "free" breakfast buffet. It's still not clear whose mistake it was - Hotels.com, or the Sarovar's. (Hotels.com gave me a credit.) Secondly, anyone who has never been to India needs to understand that you're never very far away from the squalor and chaos. This hotel is a part of a gated tech park complex, but you're surrounded by the usual heat, humidity, traffic, deafening noise, and squalor of Mumbai. (The only way to avoid this is to spend well over $170 per night...and even then there's no guarantee.) The bottom-line here is that this is a really great hotel for someone who needs a reasonably-priced, safe place to stay in Mumbai. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great place to stay if staying indoors is not the"
I was there for 2 nights and I had a good experience. The staff was friendly but a little slow. Took ages for check-in although I had paid in advance and the dine-in service forgot my complete order and only brought in part of my order. But the food was good, they had a nice spread and good quantity. There was no view outside the balcony and no point […] in staying indoors. Overall, the place is good if you do not have a plan to stay in throughout your stay. If they polish their service end a bit it will be for the better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small Rooms definitely below par Sarovar standards"
They call this a 3 Star Deluxe property, in our experience it is not even close to a regular 3 Star. I would classify this as a premium 2 star property with obnoxious pricing. Our room was so small that my arm would hit the wall next to me and what more, ridiculously this property does not come with centrally air-conditioned rooms. The room comes with […] 1 tonne split and sadly ours didn't work. we stayed at a 24 degree temperature thought our stay on the hottest summer day in Mumbai. The maintainece of the hotel had no solutions for this and the on duty manager wasn't of any help to change our rooms and accommodate in a different room as apparently the hotel was sold out. We were discounted in room dining charges 50% waiver on it ...not even full. We felt ashamed to argue and let them know that you are compensating for a non working AC room. We just paid up what they asked for and left. This is the poorest Sarovar experience i have had having stayed in their other properties earlier. If the management at Sarovar is reading this ...I would like to state that you should have had the hospitality to offer us a discount on our next stay with you and thats how you win a customer back in hospitality !! "Good Value in a Good Hotel"
The hotel is brand new and was great in all respects. Service is exemplary. The location is good but not well known,in a side lane off SV Road, a better layout map would help. Rooms somewhat compact but well equipped and well done up. Hotels.com site offerred a breakfast inclusive rate but the booking did not say so. The Manager very obligingly included […] the breakfast gratis. Adequate spread for food buffets, good service. Would recommend for all business travel as also for leisure travellers. "Good Comfortable and Quiet stay."

I booked this hotel very late in the evening and got good rates. The locations is strategic very near to the western expressway. People who have work in western suburbs like Malad, Goregaon , Exhibition centre and also Andheri Juhu and looking for a quiet stay away from the hustle bustle can definitely opt for this property. Although it gives a feeling of apartments changed into Hotels room or serviced apartment but that really doesn't matter when it comes to quiet and nice sleep to end your day.
"4 1/2 stars would be more accurate"

My spouse and I spent a week here while visiting two sets of friends in Mumbai suburbs, not far away by Mumbai standards. It was a luxurious break for us in the middle of a long visit to India. Overall, we loved the hotel, especially the staff and the prompt, friendly service they all provided. The room was spacious, with many places to put things away neatly when we unpacked. Everything mechanical and electrical worked flawlessly, as did all the plumbing. (This is often not the case in Indian hotels, alas.) The room was kept spotlessly clean. Even the laundry, including ironing, was done promptly and professionally. The location, set well back from the congested SV Road, was peaceful, giving the feel of being in an oasis. The included breakfast was varied and delicious, surprising me with some new dishes we'd never before eaten -- not just the usual fare. I'm a foodie with a lot of Indian cooking experience, so I noted down names and looked up recipes online, in hopes of reproducing some at home. My quibbles: The food at other meals was never quite right, for our tastes. Something was always overused or over applied -- e.g., a bit too much salt, or a bit too much of one or more spices. The chef seemed to be trying a little too hard, thereby overshooting the mark. We ended up having most of our lunches at the nearby InOrbit Mall food court, because the food was basic and good. At times, the service in the hotel restaurant also seemed to be trying just a wee bit too hard as well. They were friendly, helpful and attentive, not quite to the point of being intrusive, but occasionally bordering on it. My other quibble, which I see mentioned in other reviews: The rooms had lovely balconies, but access to them was locked, so the balconies could not be used. Perhaps this has something to do with security, but it does seem odd. In response to other reviews: Yes, the traffic in Mumbai is outrageous, raucous, tedious & often deadlocked. If you're in the city to see the tourist sights in the south part of Mumbai, this is not the place to stay. You'll spend most of your time in transit, coming & going, mostly sitting in exhaust fumes, occasionally creeping forward. But it was perfect for visiting friends in nearby suburbs, being close to a major highway. A tip for non-Hindi speaking travelers: Carry the hotel's business card with you. Rickshaw drivers in these parts seem to speak little or no English, but they can show the card to a bilingual bystander who can direct them. The hotel is a little hard to find, and is too easily confused with its big-sister 5-star near-namesake on SV Road itself.

I stayed here during an exhibition and I have to say that the staff have extremely impeccable manners, they are well trained to look after guest needs. The breakfast was decent, Hot breakfast and a cup of coffee really made my day. I would say the rooms are well furnished and all the basic amenities for a business traveler are present. I would like to appreciate the designers for making the best use of space. Its centrally located in a serene corner of the city, noise is never an issue here and all this for a great price!!!!
Horrible horrible the room was so small the room service and breakfast extremely limited options..air conditioner not working well..asked for smoking room it was suffocating with the room being small and balcony inaccessible and locked..The mini bar empty..the toiletries given cheaply location horrible everything disappointing and they charge more for such horrible experience..take at least 10 tips how to make this a special stay in special days..!!
"Business stay Mumbai"
12/08/14 Chris P Worcestershire
I chose this hotel as it was relatively close to the exhibition centre in Mumbai. It still takes about 30 mins to and from the hotel due to traffic. There are some bars and restaurants on the main street and you can get to the main hotel Sarovar Premier across a busy road. Main main problem with this hotel is that there is no bar area so if you meet with people there you need to go out, if you want to drink ! The rooms are clean but small. The location is nice and quiet. OK for a short business stay.
"Fine Hotel Great Service Reasonable Price"
12/05/14 Laura D Frankfurt, Germany
Stayed here during a large tradeshow. This hotel has service that makes you feel at home, for instance the flight to Mumbai arrived late and the hotel and the driver kept checking to see that I was there and OK. At breakfast the head of service learned at the first day what I would like and ensured that I had it during my stay. They also ensured I had a lot of bottled water in my room without being asked. An understanding of westerners. The hotel is also very clean. Air Conditioning very good. Small but good gym. I don't understand Mumbai so I am not sure about this, but my only concern would be the location. For those who want a 'downtown' kind of hotel this would not be it.
"New and clean but boring!"

this is a New& clean hotel/apartment. The location is Good for Goregaon, Malad, Airport etc areas. The rooms are comfy &clean. The Internet works well, but maximum 2 devices can be paired. The Breakfast is Adequate, but poor quality coffee(Nescafe). A big plus for me was that the Gym is 24 hours and well equipped. Staff is young well trained A big Negative is the hotel is too quiet and no restaurant or common areas in the hotel, this is specially irritating as there is a weird sign at the reception which says no guests allowed in the hotel or rooms after 8:00 PM for "Security"

"GOOD TO STAY"
11/28/14 rsjadeja Rajkot, India
Residency Sarovar Portico is a good property with a location not very far from airport and in vicinity of malls and shopping areas. Rooms are good, not very large nor very small. Rooms are clean, staff courteous and helping. Very good layout of rooms for a family in need of two or three rooms, a suit of three rooms can be combined. Food quality is good, portions OK but I felt prices are a bit more. A bottle of water was Rs 85. So if you plan your eating out, its a very good hotel for a nice and comfort stay.
"SOJOURN AT SAROVAR"

One of the most comfortable hotels I have stayed in recent times. People at Reception and housekeeping and Restraunt were well trained to take care of you. Bed is the best part. The pillows and the bed makes it impossible to get out of them. The only negative factor I noticed was that their bakery products were not upto the mark. Preparation of traditional food is their saving grace.
