Genuine Expedia guest review
"Not as advertised"
02/17/14 Emma J Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Unfortunately I had the same experience as the other poor review. Management was terrible. Although they knew about our booking, no one came to check us in on time. We arrived 1 hr early and called to check in early to no avail. Someone finally arrived 1hr late to the original time (after we had been calling for 2hrs).....Which wasn't easy with loads of luggage and a baby in the middle of winter. Apt was advertised as 2 bedroom... It was 1 bedroom with a curtain that pulled across the lounge room as the 2nd bedroom. The stairs into the apts were dangerously steep, and the stairs inside the apt were very slippery. They are not suitable at all for anyone with children, lots of luggage or issues with stairs (more like ladders!). The location is great, which is what I think the apt is using to attract customers. However, it is on a busy corner and opposite a pub, so it is very very noisy. You can hear all of the footsteps from the apt above you and conversations in the street...and cars/scooters/bike bells at all hours of the day/night. We planned to stay 2 weeks and were not given any dish soap/towels, bin liners, shower soap etc.. Things I consider pretty standard for a serviced apt. When the items were requested, we were also pretty much ignored. I asked where we could put the rubbish and was told to leave it in the apt! ... Not very nice after a week. Also, the linens and towels were tired/ thin, although the beds were comfortable. There was no welcome/local information or guide and the internet was intermittent if at all. We cut our stay short and found alternative accommodation. I was really disappointed with the apt and would not recommend it. Amsterdamstay.com helped me find another place which I'm very happy with.
"Great location, terrible management"

We stayed for five days in the 1st floor, 2-bedroom apartment with a balcony overlooking the canal. The main bedroom is also the living room/kitchen, then about six steps down to the 2nd bedroom and bathroom. It is a lovely, light and airy apartment with a fabulous view from the balconette and a central location situated about halfway between the museums and central square; 10 minutes walk either way. However .... requests for a toaster, spare toilet paper and a working hairdryer were ignored for the first two days of our stay. We were finally given a hairdryer and some toilet paper but never a toaster. This and the lack of a microwave or cereal bowls also meant our breakfast choices were limited and we ended up eating cereal out of a saucepan! There were also no garbage bags supplied for rubbish. More seriously, the power socket in the kitchen was dead so we had to boil the kettle on the floor near another socket. (Scarily and dangerously, when we plugged anything into the faulty socket, one of the ceiling lights went on!) The power socket in the bathroom didn't work either which meant we couldn't use the washing machine which, after weeks of handwashing on the road, was a major blow. Then when we tried to handwash clothes in the bathroom sink, there was no plug so we had to use the kitchen sink! After alerting the managers twice about the electrical faults, etc., the response was a cheery "we'll look into it" ... but nothing happened. We've stayed in many apartments throughout the world & certainly don't complain about small oversights that naturally occur from time to time, but we simply cannot let the issues with this expensive "luxury" apartment go unreported.
"Great place for city trip with a big group of friends"

Definetely it's more comfortable to stay in a huge apartment if you are a big group of friends instead of having small rooms at a hotel. You have kitchen to drink and eat, living room to have fun and bedrooms good enough for at least 10 people or the whole apartment can also handle 16-18 people.
"Great Location, Clean and Specious Rooms"
09/20/12 coguzhan Istanbul, Istanbul, Turkey
I've been to Amsterdam for the first time with my friends around July 2012. After long searches we have decided on this beautiful three-storey apartment. The rooms were perfectly clean and specious. A fully-equipped kitchen was a lifesaver.. The only handicap was the stairs! If you are older than 50 and aren't in a good shape, try somewhere else.. Very steep and small sized stairs were really giving headaches when you come home late at night or when you are trying to carry a luggage =)
"Great place to stay in Amsterdam with family or friends!"

I must admit we had some problems in the beginning. We had problems reaching the hosts through the phone and had to stay outside of the building for more than an hour. I was sure to leave a poor comment, however, after we managed to enter the apartment with the help of Jacob, my review changed dramatically. The apartment is very specious, equipped with fine tv, coffee machine etc., has a nice view from the window. The location is central and in a very nice part of the town. The central station is just 3 stops away after walking for 5 minutes (300mt). If you are able to reach the hosts, they are really nice too. Christian, the owner has a shop just below from the apartment. You should not have any problems if you arrive before 6pm. A very fun apartment, and I recommend it.

"Luxury ? Changer de nom !"
04/14/14 OLIVIER44000 Rome, Italy
