"Nice Place, Great Location"
We really enjoyed this small, 3 room hotel. The room was nice, the bathroom was nice... and the view would have been amazing had their not been scaffolding on the outside of the building during our stay. Although we wish we had know that the building was under construction during our stay, we were still quite pleased with the hotel. Thankfully there […] was no construction noise the 3 nights that we were there. This place works like a bed and breakfast, so if you are looking for 24 hour service this is not the right choice. "Great location-but hard to find"
This is more of a B&B with 3 rooms for rent. Breakfast was served each morning and the girl there was very friendly and helpful. Our room was spotless and opened directly onto a canal. Gondolas started going by around 10 a.m. and continued throughout the day until evening. Some had wonderful singers and/or musicians whose music carried through the canal. […] The room was very basic but was fine for 2 nights. For a longer stay I would have preferred something a little larger and more comfortable. This is very hard to find, you specifically have to go by the address because there are no signs. Wi-fi only worked in the breakfast area, not in our room. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The best way to experience Venice in my opinion is how the locals would and a bed and breakfast is the closest you can get. The room was nicely appointed and had exposed beam ceilings, beautiful fabric on the walls and amazing refinished hard wood floors. The room was very clean and the bathroom was HUGE by European standards with double sinks and an […] impressive shower. The view was incredible looking out onto a narrow canal that was well traveled with private gondolas. With our window open we could hear serenades throughout the afternoon. Also, the location is across from the opera so we could also hear the opera singers practicing during the early afternoon as well. The location was a little difficult to find but as long as you know the address number you’ll be fine. Don’t rely on maps and street names, just follow the address numbers until you find the gate to the courtyard and walk in. Look for a small laminate card on the door and ring the bell. From the train station, take Line 1 to the Giglio stop on the vaporetto water bus route, it’s the closest to the Ca Maria Callas. Internet was a little spotty and we had to sit near the front door of our room to get good service. Internet was included so we didn’t complain. The breakfast was included as well and was a fresh assortment. here is a small refrigerator to keep your drinks cool and a TV with about 500 channels to watch. Very clean and breakfasts excellent. Location was great - very handy to all the sights. Reason I booked this hotel was that all rooms had canal views. When we arrived the building was covered in scaffolding and sheeting with no view at all. Would have been nice to know this before arrival as it was a major disappointment.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, Great views"
This is a great place to stay if you are looking for a quiet hotel, close to St Mark's square with fantastic views out the window. The room was a good size and the breakfast spread was delicious.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was more a B&B than a hotel, but it was lovely on the corner of a couple of canals so we got serenaded once the gondolas started.in a very quite area. The front door wasn't easy to open and you had to carry your luggage up a couple of flights of stairs as there was no lift, would certainly go back though.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Good location but otherwise so/so"

We used 2 of the rooms for our family (did not realize at booking how very small this was!). Pros: close to the center of town but quiet and away from the tourist traffic. Rooms were clean and bathrooms recently remodeled. Breakfast was very good. Cons: No elevator - we had to haul luggage up one flight of stairs. This was OK for us (we travel light) but could be a major obstacle for someone else. The rooms had an overpowering scent of potpourri -- we had to air it out (letting out the AC) and hide away the potpourri to get rid of the smell. As others mentioned, there was no canal view - it was behind scaffolding. And the shower unit was extremely small -- too small to comfortably accommodate a grown man. Lastly, we had a very unpleasant experience during checkout, as they accidentally overcharged us -- charging the "rack" rate rather than the rate we had booked under a hotel website. When this was brought to their attention, they had a lot of trouble figuring out how to refund the difference. While ultimately resolved (and I believe it was an honest mistake), it cost us almost 2 hours of back and forth to resolve and made our departure time tight.
"Nice quiet corner of Venice"
First off we did have a big problem fining the place and this is mostly down to the fact that we were disorientated by the small winding lanes but it still isn't easily located and definitely not signed at all out the front at the time of our visit. We were met by a member of staff who was very helpful and friendly and we got there in the end. We were checked into Room 1 which was large and spacious, featured old classic furniture, an original wood beamed ceiling, and a very modern shower and bathroom which was slightly out character but I don't think that matters as much, it was clean and in perfect working order. The selling point of the room was the two different views of the canal. The room is on a corner and each wall has a large window that opens out onto the small canal outside. Due to the size of the canal and it being surrounded by taller building this means the acoustics are good and seems to be the favoured spot for the Gondola sailers to sing which is nice to wake up to. I would recommend requesting this room as the others looked a bit smaller. The breakfast provide was brilliant, all you need to set yourself up for a day of wondering the streets of Venice. The location is brilliant and is right behind the Theatre and very close to all the main attractions and sights. It was fairly expensive but we were so pleased with the views it pretty much justified it. We had a brilliant stay here and wouldn't hesitate to go back providing we could get the same room... Only if it were easier to find.

The 'hotel' is more like a B&B as it only has 3 rooms, but that is one of the nice features, very cozy and charming. Finding the entrance is a bit of challenge (as is finding anything in Venice), but it is conveniently located near the # 1 ACTV line. A short walk took us to the main locations of Venice and we enjoyed being on an out of the way street as it was quiet at night (except for the gondolier's singing up until dark) The bath was spacious with a huge double walk-in shower. Breakfast was served in the common area and we got to meet a couple from Belgium who were also staying there. There was scaffolding on the building, but it's not the first time we've spent the night in a hotel under construction, these things happen. Even though the staff isn't onsite all day, they were just a phone call away.

We had the same problems finding the entrance as previous reviewers, even with a picture of the front door. After finally getting to the door, we had to wait for the manager to come (with her dog) to let us in. The room was not what we expected (aged and odd layout), but the biggest problem was that the canal view that we had wanted (and the reason we booked this place) was behind scaffolding and construction sheet that obliterated the view. When we questioned the manager, she said that there was a minor problem and that the scaffolding was only recently put up. She then offered to discount our room by 10% for a 3-day stay. After she left, we decided to look elsewhere and found the Hotel San Moise which had the canal view we were looking for and a better rate. When we went back to retrieve our luggage we noticed a sign on the outside of the building that indicates that this construction had ben planned since October 2013 and began in January 2014 (before we booked!!). We usually only write positive reviews, but this place should be avoided at all costs.
"Canal view? What view?"

By no stretch of the imagination can this establishment be described as a hotel. It is no more than a b & b. It is almost impossible to find - identified only by a street number above a grubby door leading into a courtyard. It consists of just three bedrooms and a breakfast room on one floor of a very old and decrepit building. No tea and coffee facilities in the room, just a minibar containing overpriced drinks, including bottled beer but no bottle opener or glasses! The one highlight was the charming young lady who prepared and served a good buffet breakfast, cleaned the three rooms and then left, leaving no staff at all, all day. We booked it on the strength of the promised canal views. The building is undergoing long term structural repairs and is shrouded in scaffolding and dense white material, so you can see nothing! We feel cheated that we were not told about this, yet still charged full price. Would not recommend.

Highly recommended. Ca' Maria Callas is located close to San Marco Square. Easily accessed by waterbus #1. Simona, one of the girls of the staff, was friendly and helpful. The room was clean with a comfortable bed, intimate atmosphere and great attention to detail. The bathroom ensuite, has a whirlpool shower. Beautiful view and awakening accompanied by the singing of the gondoliers. The breakfast were wonderful. It's a beautiful B&B and has a great position.

Conseguimos fazer tudo a pé. O café da manhã era bem completo e muito gostoso. O único inconveniente foi o tamanho do box do banheiro, beeem pequeno. A vista da sala do café da manhã e do quarto eram maravilhosas! Recomendo sim o lugar!
