Je suis venue dans cette hôtel pour passer un week-end avec mon amoureux. Nous ne sommes pas déçu du tout. Quand on rentre dans le bâtiment il y a un superbe odeur apaisante, nous avons profiter de la piscine (trop salée et odeur chimique par contre...), du hamman et du sauna. Les lits sont vraiment top, et les oreillets n'en parlons pas, une super […] nuit douillette. Par contre, nous avions demandé un petit déjeuner au lit et la réception nous avais oublié... Zut... Bon séjour mais il est très regrettable que dans cet hôtel neuf la climatisation n'est pas été installée. La nuit nous n'avons pas réussi à faire baisser la température de la chambre qui devait être autour de 25 degrés. "Worst Service in Restaurant Ever!"

The hotel is in a lovely location, I can only comment on the restaurant as I did not stay in the hotel. We were a party of 12 who had a reservation in the restaurant, named Le Shout, to celebrate a friends birthday. We decided to try here as it was fairly new, nice looking menu and made a change from our usual restaurants. We arrived at 7.30pm and sat outside on the terrace overlooking the sea and asked for someone to take a drinks order, 40 minutes later we were still waiting.....we decided to go to our table. Our orders for dinner were taken, surprisingly we were asked to order dessert at the same time as our main course. Five people asked for starters which took an hour to arrive. As time ticked by, those that hadn't had a starter were becoming increasingly hungry, despite many requests for our main courses, they didn't get served until 10.20pm just as we had all agreed to leave. We decided as the food was there to stay and eat it and I must say it was well presented and tasted ok but by this time we were beyond enjoyment. We noticed other tables also complaining, the restaurant was not full, the restaurant manager disappeared about half way through the evening never to be seen again and the poor young inexperienced waitress could not cope and at one point was seen crying. Our idea of a lovely meal followed by a stroll along the beach sadly didn't happen. The staff deducted the price of one bottle of wine from the bill however I requested that no drinks were paid for and this was agreed, so we had 3 bottles of wine and some soft drinks free of charge by way of compensation.

I picked this hotel for an overnight stop on the way home from a holiday in Brittany. It was a bit off the route, but I was looking for a modern hotel that could accommodate my husband who uses a wheelchair. These hotels are surprisingly difficult to find. On arrival, the desk staff were very helpful and friendly, although very little English was spoken. When they realised we had not been allocated an accessible room, they were very quick to change it. We were given a lovely room with a terrace and full seaview. The parking is difficult, being either uphill in the hotel's own parking, or downhill in the public parking by the beach. Neither of these was suitable for wheelchair users. The staff quickly showed us a small parking area right by the door which we could use. They also offered help with getting luggage to the room. We ate in the restaurant, which we thought was quite good value for the standard of food on offer. We also took breakfast which was very good. I would definitely use this hotel again, and would thoroughly recommend it for anyone who needs an accessible room.

Stayed here for three nights in June with a group of 42 people during the Normandy D Day 70th Aniversary Events. The hotel staff were exceptionally helpful, providing breakfast very early, dinner really late and very good packed lunches, all much appreciated. Regrettably I did not have time to relax and enjoy the beach or hotel facilities, but would definitely return for a short break to explore the area further.

The hotel is quite cute, modern and in a lovely scene some meters from the sea but we had some cleaning staff surprises, which 'downgraded' our experience. Pros - The rooms are of a normal size, in sea-like atmosphere . We had a full sea view sight, so we had a terrace which is worth the extra. A small disappointment was that we ended up in a room for disabled which was a bit trickier for taking shower but we managed. - The staff was nice and easy-going, no pb from this side - We appreciated it was so easy to park the car as a huge parking is just in front of the hotel. We once forgot to lock the car and nothing happened so looks quite safe :-) - The facilities for spa are available and brand new as the hotel is (April 2013). Don't except a full spa experience : it's a 3 star hotel having some spa features. The swimming pool is just some meters wide and you cannot swim in it, it's only for spa features. - Breakfast was fine, with continental and English breakfasts. We had everything we wanted. The only downside is maybe that in busy times, they fight to fill the need for crockery or food. But it comes usually soon afterwards. On weekends , breakfast hours are until 10:30. - the restaurant room is quite nice with sea view and a terrace. We didn't test the dinner because there are so many restaurants in Granville that it would be a pity to spend the money in a restaurant hotel, which in addition looks a bit expensive. - We had no air conditioning fight like room being too cold, hot or 'windy' and...it was relaxing... - Beds were comfortable with spring mattress. Cons - Main problem was room cleaning: * the first morning we left the room and a cleaning lady saw us going out and taking out the sign Do not disturb. We came back very late: the room was not done at all . We were quite shocked bec she really saw us going and I wondered what she wrote on her planning paper. * the second morning, we went out but came back 3 hrs later to have a check on this issue. Again we were jaw open: bed done but bins not emptied, toilet paper roll not refilled, neither soap and I could see hair, dust and small things on the floor (like a small piece of paper for ex). The cleaning ladies were around and this time I asked if the floor had been done: I was not answered in a clear positive way now I think about it, but the young lady took the vacuum cleaner and did it again. It didn't take very long so...the quality was in consequence. I think they really need a counter check in this and the staff looks really really young so there is maybe a kind of easy-going attitude there, although everybody was nice. I was that close to buy a mob and do the cleaning myself to be honest to be sure sthg was properly done. - another problem again in cleaning but for towels/bath robes: we had stains on a towel, on a pillowslip, and a huge one on a bathrobe, and the belt of one of the bathrobe was black stained. So carefully check your towels etc, and ask for a change if any problem - last thing but this had more to do with guests; we really didn't appreciate having our breakfast next to people in bath suits with their bathrobes on. They were just 3/4 people but it was very uncomfortable. - Room terraces: they are small but sufficient . The only discomfort is that you have very little privacy: it s not well organised and plants could be higher or larger or...well...things could be different. i think it's ok but if you're sensitive to this , better to know it.

We stayed here for one night before getting the ferry from Cherbourg. Not the easiest place to find but we did eventually and it is situated right on the beach at Donnville. Nice welcome from the reception and our room was just what we needed for one night. Very clean and a comfortable bed and en suite. Had dinner out in Granville as the hotel has a more corporate feel and its not our scene, however, great position, fairly priced and would stay again.

Hotel is very new. Right on the beach. There is a difference between 'sea view' and 'lateral sea view', be careful when booking, our sea view needed a bit of a neck stretch. Rooms are lovely, distressed wood effect, all nice clean and new. Breakfast was excellent, well worth €9. Dinner was a little disappointing, I had ox cheeks as main, which was very nice but really not much of it, was still quite hungry afterwards...and when I mentioned it, it was suggested that I have dessert! But the rest of the group had enough in their mains. Next time I'd eat out

Booked this hotel for a 2 day stay on the way back home to the UK, we did not realise it was a spa hotel, we knew it had a pool that wast it. This hotel is excellent, superb service and very friendly staff (apart from one over officious pool attandant). The family rooms were probably more suited to a family with younger children, a small observation rather than a gripe. The restaurant was excellent with the 9 Euro breakfast proving superb value and quality. We had one evening meal and although a bit pricey the quality of food was great. We had the fixed price two course menu for 22 Euros per person. The spa pool was a wonderfully relaxing end to our holiday and the bonus is you can still top up your tan as the pool has outside access to a decking area with loungers. very nice indeed.
"Beautiful beach but a long way out"

Hotel de la Baie is very new, well-equipped, and comfortable. Staff are friendly and facilities are good. Rooms are a good size and come with an excellent shower and separate bathroom and toilet. Everything is very comfortable and I slept very well. Breakfast was €9 extra each but is good value, a very good buffet with a mixture of cooked and continental. The restaurant is very pleasant and bright, the only shame is that they have put the car park in between the beach and the hotel spoiling what would be a superb view of the fantastic beach which runs in front of the hotel and a couple of miles either side. The only problem is that the hotel is a long way from Granville if you have no car, as we did not. In the morning it is a lovely walk alongside the beach and across the cliff tops for around 35 minutes. It seemed a bit further on the way back after dinner though! It’s a great hotel for a beach holiday but not so good for seeing the town.

Although headlined as being in Manche, this hotel is fairly and squarely by the beach in Donville le Bains, a couple of miles north of Granville. It is a brand new Best Western and looks and smells like a new hotel. Public areas are spacious with the look of a four star hotel, and there is a large restaurant where we ate at one night. It was OK, but I would recommend a fish restaurant by the docks at Granville as being a better bet with better food and better value. There is an outside terrace where you can sit overlooking the sea. There are various spa treatments you can have if you are so inclined. Rooms are a reasonable size, wood floor not carpet. Separate WC and shower rooms. Good lighting. Inoffensive decor. Very comfortable beds. Wifi is excellent. Tea and coffee in rooms. Overall a very good quality hotel with no real niggles and, when we booked it, at a price we thought quite reasonable by French standards these days.
