Directly in the city so shopping was easy and the staff were very pleasant and polite. It was vintage themed which was unique for me and very clean and comfortable. Would stay there anytime.

This hotel is in a fantastic location. I'm sure the hotel management realizes this. Having another hotel in this close area would be helpful to provide competition and if so, I think the Mercure could step up and become deserving of 5 stars rather than 4. They simply need to try a little harder.

We had never heard of Campanile,. Seemingly they're quite new in the UK. This was an excellent stop-over in every way. Professional and personable staff, easy access to the Motorway. Great rooms, modern, clean and well appointed. Loved that rain showerhead! A very nice dining area (although we walked the short distance to The Harvester right next door. The breakfast at Campanile was excellent.

The hotel description did not mention the DJ till 3a.m. directly below the room on offer. I also paid for breakfast yet none is provided on Saturday (nor Sunday) morning.
