"Great boutique hotel in Madrid"
This hotel was excellent albeit they had no parking and did not provide a hot water kettle in the room. A no-no for us Asian travellers. Parking at the local public carpark right next door cost 82 euros for three days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent sleep in Madrid"
We had been traveling through Spain for three weeks and Madrid was our last stop. We'd had problems in prior hotels with noise and poor quality air conditioning, so we decided to book a hotel away from the tourist center that catered to business travelers. The rooms were clean and quiet and the air conditioning and wifi worked great. The only issue […] is the hotel is a 20 minute trip to the tourist center. There is a metro stop across the street from the hotel and three busses that will take you right into town and the staff will help you navigate the trip. I'd stay here again. "a perfect location for visiting Madrifd"
Everything about this lovely hotel is a pleasure. The location is not only easy to find when driving, but city buses and the Metro are literally ten steps out the door. It took us no more than a 10 minute bus ride to get to El Prado and our tour bus. The room was stunning, spotlessly clean, and very quiet. Although this is NOT a old traditional hotel […] in the heart of the historic district, it is so lovely and so convenient that its remarkably affordable price makes this a hotel we would recommend highly and would happily return to. I spent five nights at the Claridge. The room is nice, quiet and clean, and the bathroom is a reasonable size. The a/c works well and I control it! :) The hotel is located in a residential area about 1/2 mile from Retiro park. There are neighborhood cafés and bars nearby in case you need an emergency beverage. Although it's away from the tourist center, […] a metro stop is across the street so it's an easy and fast trip to the center of town. The best part: the hotel is connected to a real gym which guests may use for free! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice Hotel in Madrid"
The hotel is clean and nice. Climate control in the room worked well. Good shower, no tub. Beds are firm. Did not try the breakfast buffet. Various bakeries and cafes are nearby. Also near a grocery store and convenience stores. This hotel is outside of the historic center of Madrid so you will need to take a train or bus to do any sight seeing or shopping. […] Both bus and train stations are right outside the hotel. We were able to leave our bags at the front desk after checking out because our flight was late at night and we wanted to do a few things in the city that day. "Amazing staff! Comfy room! Can walk to the Prado!"
The hotel and room were very nice, comfy, and modern. It had all the conveniences including a state of the art new gym right there which included classes like Pilates (this was free with your room)! This is not your typical hotel gym with a few pieces of equipment. This is an actual gym that connects to the hotel by way of your room key. We stayed too […] busy touring Madrid to use it this time, but will make the time the next time we go. The staff was more than accommodating; so helpful anytime we asked. They went out of their way to make sure we had maps with directions on how to use the metro, buses, etc., since we knew little of the language. They all also spoke English which helped us a lot. Using their private car to get back to the airport was very comfortable and stylish and a lot cheaper than using a taxi (a 15 or 20 minute drive even in the worst of traffic). At their suggestion, arriving just two hours early was plenty of time for our international flight. Across the street from our hotel, is a metro stop (Madrid subway), several bus stops, taxis (if needed), pastry shops, cheese shop, small grocery, ATM's, shopping and restaurants. Busy street but our 3rd floor room was quiet of street noice. Black-out curtains were a plus. The famous Prado art museum is on the other side of the Retiro Park so we walked through the lovely park to get to the Prado. Lots of activity in Retiro Park...artists, joggers, paddle boats, etc. We loved staying at the Claridge!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was a great experience. The staff is very helpful. Also, there is a taxi and subway station in front of the hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
"An absolute gem!"
I booked a "family room" feeling anxious about that term since we all know how tiny hotel rooms in Europe are. Boy was i surprised! It was not a family room but a two bedroom, two bathroom suite. All the commodities one can ask for, plus magazine worthy bathrooms. Good beds, smelled fresh, clean ... A hotel this good on gran Via can surely go for twice […] the price. Our Expedia rate included breakfast buffet, which was also excellent, having a great variety of choices (fried or scrambled eggs, hams, cheese, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, coffee ... You name it). And the staff was always courteous and willing to help. Can absolutely recommend! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location - even it is not at the city center. The tradeoff is better space and less noise. Airport is only 18 minutes away. Metro stop is across the street. There is also a bus in front (#14) that takes you to Prado, Thyssen, Atocha, Reina Sofia, ciebeles, etc. Hotel is super clean and spacious. Very helpful staff. We had great breakfast everyday […] in a coffee shop across the street. Six pastries, two coffees, three large fresh squeezed OJ for 13 euro. There is also a good size supermarket that runs 9 am to 10 pm. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Clean and confortable hotel, good front desk service, very nice gyn. Near to the metro station, and not too far from the center city. Supermarket and a Good cafeteria's close to the hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel and excellent service"
The hotel is of luxurious quality and was in immaculate condition. It was not located near primary tourist attractions like those right in the old city center, but was right across the street from a metro station, which is important. It is located nearer the Prado though. Also, right across the street is a pastry and coffee shop with excellent products […] and very low prices. Of special note was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. I can't say enough about my appreciation of them. David, who greeted us at the door, was particularly helpful and kind, and spoke very good English too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Superb hotel and friendly and helpful staff. Although I am very familiar with Madrid (I previously lived in Spain for 10 years), they helped us enjoy our stay. Just across the street was a bus stop where you can take the bus (#337) for Chinchon, a 45 minutes ride to a small charming town, for 8 euros both ways. The metro station was on the plaza across […] the street from the hotel, so you can get to the airport or be in the center in 15 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone. "Best possible stay"
I used to go to the most expensive hotels.....Claridge is close to them in many respects but at a really affordable and convenient price. This is the best deal I have had in many trips and it is definitely going to be my ONLY CHOICE when I visit Madrid. I left my wallet in the bar--with more than 2000 euros-- and they sent it to my room almost immediately. […] Special congratulations to the Barman and the receptionist Please read this again. "Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff"
We stayed at the Claridge our final days in Madrid. The hotel is beautiful and staff very accommodating and helpful (except for the rude blonde waiter at the cafe/bar). They are walking distance close to the metro but we found everything else too far to walk so opted for cab rides to all the sites.Genuine Expedia guest review

"September In Madrid - Wonderful Stay"
The Hotel Claridge is centrally located on Plaza Conde Casal in a residential area of Madrid. There are restaurants, coffee shops,, bakeries, and outdoor cafés in the vicinity that are popular with all of the local residents. The hotel is easily accessible to all of the tourist attractions and areas by bus and train. If walking in Madrid is your fancy, […] it is a lovely area for walking with destination "El Retiro". The hotel staff was courteous and always ready to assist , answer questions and resolve any concerns, Our room was large and comfortable. It was decorated in a contemporary style, with large windows that opened easily. There was a large bench for luggage, a safe and a large closet for clothing. The room also had a mini refrigerator. The bathroom was large and modern with a walk-in shower. The hotel was quiet as we never heard other guests in the hallway or elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, so-so location"
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Claridge for 5 nights in mid-June 2013. The room and the bathroom were big and clean and had the advertised amenities (except for the king-size bed which ended up being two twin beds next to one another). The wifi internet was free but very slow. The location is somewhat of a drawback. On the one hand, the hotel is right […] next to the subway stop of line 6 (circular line) and is only 25-minute walk away from the main train station (Puerta de Atocha). On the other hand, it is somewhat removed from most attractions in Madrid, and there are very few restaurants close to it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderful Hotel, Ok Location"
Hotel Claridge is a wonderful, clean, and well serviced hotel. The location is not central to many of Madrid's attractions but there is a Metro stop very close (across the street) and you can walk to Reina Sofia and Retiro park (about 1 mile away).Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very comfortable stay"
We had 2 nights here. The reception staff were very friendly and helped us with bags and getting taxis. The room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet. Bed was lovely and comfortable. Slightly out of the city centre but an easy walk to Retiro Park and close to buses and metro. I would definitely recommend this hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
quite a good location for access to the main train station and airport but a bit too isolated from the city centre. Taxis to every thing became expensive and the Madrid underground is incomprehensible.Breakfast was lovely but very expensive at £13. Staff were extremely informative and helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good location and the wifi. Staff very helpful and most spoke English.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very polite and friendly staff. Neat and spacious rooms Value for the moneyGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location & service"
This is a great hotel and tremendous value for central Madrid. Easily reached via Metro from the airport (one change at Nuevos Minesterios), less than 100m from the Metro entrance, and easy walking distance from El Retiro park. I was very impressed and would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Busy 5 days in Madrid"
We just returned from Madrid having stayed in the Hotel Claridge for 4 nights. First impressions was it was near a busy roundabout. We were assigned a room on the fifth floor but after inspection asked to change due to the noise from the road even though it had a good view, the staff were very accommodating and gave us room 908 which was very quite […] but no view just the back of another building and dark, but this was fine for us. The room had all you need for a short stay, including LCD tv, mini bar etc. the bed was a tad hard for us but slept okay. The bathroom only had a shower no bath, toilet and sink again fine for us, All nice with air con as well. We didn't book breakfast due to earlier reviews saying about the cafes around, well we looked and didn't like them much so in the end paid for the buffet breakfast in the hotel 13.40 euros a day. The breakfast was nice though the service could have been better as plates etc were not cleared that quick if at all. We requested a couple of things and eventually our requests were met, not before gentle reminders, i.e.. spoons when they were empty. Overall we were pleased wit the hotel though the location away from the main area can be a bit of pain having to get the metro back and forth when you want to freshen up. We used the 12 euros ten ride tickets between us and found the metro very good. The porter were very helpful with directions etc and helpful hints.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Lovely room, convenient location"
The hotel room was lovely; very spacious and comfortable. The hotel is across from a metro stop and is about a 20 min walk from Atocha station so in a convenient location. There is also a large grocery store close to the Hotel.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
can not fault the hotel room, however, the reception staff not very friendly or considerate. The porter however, worth his weight in gold and happy to help with anything you need for your stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
This hotel is very well located, just a few meters from the metro station and other means of transportation like bus or taxis, besides is relatively close to all amenities of the city center like the the puerta del sol, paseo del Prado, museo del Prado, parque el retiro, puerta de Alcalá y la gran vía, all accesible within minutes through the metro […] or in 25 minutes walking fast as Britons usually do. "Excellent value for money ."
Very friendly, efficient and helpful staff.Very handy to public transport and not far from central station (Atocha)Genuine Expedia guest review
Overall the hotel is very nice, modern decor, good shower, air conditioning and wifi. Beds are a little firm but room was spacious. Staff were not the friendliest and the bar is over priced. At check-in I had to wait to be noticed despite 4 staff at the end of the counter watching some kind of demonstration of something. The guy who did check me in […] seemed annoyed at the interruption. The service in the bar was very slow and a glass of wine was poor quality and over priced. The bar area is also small and closes early. In Spain you expect the wine to be good even a glass of house wine. The location is good with metro, bus stop and a taxi rank all just across the street. There are also great cafes with friendly staff nearby. The museums are a 20-25 minute walk and the Parque del Retiro is beautiful for a quiet stroll. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"hotel close to metro"
we found the staff at the Hotel Claridge very friendly and helpful as well as courteous. The rooms were very well decorated and air conditioning was a blessing too. Cafes opposite made for cheap and tasty breakfasts and the metro was fast into town so that we could enjoy the sites even on a short visit. to be recommended.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Value for money"
Good value for money, ideal for a city break. Location is not amazing as it's not easy to get around, the metro close by is not a good line in terms of links into and around the city. Can't comment on service as barely saw any staff for the duration of my stay. No offer of maps or guidance around the city which would have been helpful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
