"Location good for business, not for vacation"
Lovely hotel great proximity to the airport, but a very disappointing distance to sightseeing locations in Madrid.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"stand out personnel"
my wife and i stayed here for only one night, but i must say, it was a great value for the money. rooms were very clean and comfortable, and the thing that stood out most was the concierge. the two women working there (i forget their names) were fluent in english and spanish and were so helpful to us, especially in helping us with some issues with our […] flight. also they have a convenient shuttle for 23 euro to the airport that was very punctual and swift. taxi ride from the train station was only 8 euro. our general preference is usually to do bed and breakfasts, but after several days in spain it was a welcome change to be at the hotel. highly recommend. "Pleasant, clean Hotel!"
Though this hotel is located a bit farther away from Madrid (where all the tourist sights are), there are many bus stops nearby to get you anywhere you need to go - we just had to do our homework. LOVED that the hotel and the rooms were very clean! Nice, helpful staff, and most of them speak/understand English fine. Taxi drivers know exactly where this […] place is, I didn't have to give the drivers any further driving instructions other than the name of the hotel or the name of the street. "Enjoyed our stay in Madrid."
This hotel was comfortable and located near a bus stop that took us to Plaza Major easily. We enjoyed the breakfast buffet each morning. The staff was friendly and helpful. We enjoyed sitting outside the restaurant each afternoon people watching. I would recommend it.Genuine Expedia guest review
"nice hotel with good service"
though not in the city center, metro, supermarket, and a very nice bakery just accross the street. very helpful staff.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very good hotel"
Pro: nice place, everything you need, the hotel has class. Cons: it's a little bit away from main attractions, you'll need to use public transport and add 20' to all your plans.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Excellent hotel, ideally located"
Enjoyed my stay. I wa pleasantly surprised at the room size and condition.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great boutique hotel in Madrid"
This hotel was excellent albeit they had no parking and did not provide a hot water kettle in the room. A no-no for us Asian travellers. Parking at the local public carpark right next door cost 82 euros for three days.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent sleep in Madrid"
We had been traveling through Spain for three weeks and Madrid was our last stop. We'd had problems in prior hotels with noise and poor quality air conditioning, so we decided to book a hotel away from the tourist center that catered to business travelers. The rooms were clean and quiet and the air conditioning and wifi worked great. The only issue […] is the hotel is a 20 minute trip to the tourist center. There is a metro stop across the street from the hotel and three busses that will take you right into town and the staff will help you navigate the trip. I'd stay here again. "a perfect location for visiting Madrifd"
Everything about this lovely hotel is a pleasure. The location is not only easy to find when driving, but city buses and the Metro are literally ten steps out the door. It took us no more than a 10 minute bus ride to get to El Prado and our tour bus. The room was stunning, spotlessly clean, and very quiet. Although this is NOT a old traditional hotel […] in the heart of the historic district, it is so lovely and so convenient that its remarkably affordable price makes this a hotel we would recommend highly and would happily return to. I spent five nights at the Claridge. The room is nice, quiet and clean, and the bathroom is a reasonable size. The a/c works well and I control it! :) The hotel is located in a residential area about 1/2 mile from Retiro park. There are neighborhood cafés and bars nearby in case you need an emergency beverage. Although it's away from the tourist center, […] a metro stop is across the street so it's an easy and fast trip to the center of town. The best part: the hotel is connected to a real gym which guests may use for free! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice hotel, a bit out of the center of Madrid."
We stayed at the Hotel Claridge for two nights in Madrid. The daytime staff was a little grumpy, but we got over it. The room was clean and nice. We skipped meals at the restaurant, due to the prices. I was aware of the location when I booked it, but people should know that the Plaza Conde de Casal area is a bit out of the tourist area. But the Metro/Subway […] stop is right there, so this could be the perfect spot - with a lot less noise than a hotel on the Gran Via. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Nice Hotel in Madrid"
The hotel is clean and nice. Climate control in the room worked well. Good shower, no tub. Beds are firm. Did not try the breakfast buffet. Various bakeries and cafes are nearby. Also near a grocery store and convenience stores. This hotel is outside of the historic center of Madrid so you will need to take a train or bus to do any sight seeing or shopping. […] Both bus and train stations are right outside the hotel. We were able to leave our bags at the front desk after checking out because our flight was late at night and we wanted to do a few things in the city that day. "Amazing staff! Comfy room! Can walk to the Prado!"
The hotel and room were very nice, comfy, and modern. It had all the conveniences including a state of the art new gym right there which included classes like Pilates (this was free with your room)! This is not your typical hotel gym with a few pieces of equipment. This is an actual gym that connects to the hotel by way of your room key. We stayed too […] busy touring Madrid to use it this time, but will make the time the next time we go. The staff was more than accommodating; so helpful anytime we asked. They went out of their way to make sure we had maps with directions on how to use the metro, buses, etc., since we knew little of the language. They all also spoke English which helped us a lot. Using their private car to get back to the airport was very comfortable and stylish and a lot cheaper than using a taxi (a 15 or 20 minute drive even in the worst of traffic). At their suggestion, arriving just two hours early was plenty of time for our international flight. Across the street from our hotel, is a metro stop (Madrid subway), several bus stops, taxis (if needed), pastry shops, cheese shop, small grocery, ATM's, shopping and restaurants. Busy street but our 3rd floor room was quiet of street noice. Black-out curtains were a plus. The famous Prado art museum is on the other side of the Retiro Park so we walked through the lovely park to get to the Prado. Lots of activity in Retiro Park...artists, joggers, paddle boats, etc. We loved staying at the Claridge!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
It was a great experience. The staff is very helpful. Also, there is a taxi and subway station in front of the hotel!Genuine Expedia guest review
"An absolute gem!"
I booked a "family room" feeling anxious about that term since we all know how tiny hotel rooms in Europe are. Boy was i surprised! It was not a family room but a two bedroom, two bathroom suite. All the commodities one can ask for, plus magazine worthy bathrooms. Good beds, smelled fresh, clean ... A hotel this good on gran Via can surely go for twice […] the price. Our Expedia rate included breakfast buffet, which was also excellent, having a great variety of choices (fried or scrambled eggs, hams, cheese, pastries, cereal, fresh fruit, coffee ... You name it). And the staff was always courteous and willing to help. Can absolutely recommend! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Great location - even it is not at the city center. The tradeoff is better space and less noise. Airport is only 18 minutes away. Metro stop is across the street. There is also a bus in front (#14) that takes you to Prado, Thyssen, Atocha, Reina Sofia, ciebeles, etc. Hotel is super clean and spacious. Very helpful staff. We had great breakfast everyday […] in a coffee shop across the street. Six pastries, two coffees, three large fresh squeezed OJ for 13 euro. There is also a good size supermarket that runs 9 am to 10 pm. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Excellent hotel and excellent service"
The hotel is of luxurious quality and was in immaculate condition. It was not located near primary tourist attractions like those right in the old city center, but was right across the street from a metro station, which is important. It is located nearer the Prado though. Also, right across the street is a pastry and coffee shop with excellent products […] and very low prices. Of special note was the helpfulness and friendliness of the staff. I can't say enough about my appreciation of them. David, who greeted us at the door, was particularly helpful and kind, and spoke very good English too. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Superb hotel and friendly and helpful staff. Although I am very familiar with Madrid (I previously lived in Spain for 10 years), they helped us enjoy our stay. Just across the street was a bus stop where you can take the bus (#337) for Chinchon, a 45 minutes ride to a small charming town, for 8 euros both ways. The metro station was on the plaza across […] the street from the hotel, so you can get to the airport or be in the center in 15 minutes. I highly recommend this hotel for anyone. "Best possible stay"
I used to go to the most expensive hotels.....Claridge is close to them in many respects but at a really affordable and convenient price. This is the best deal I have had in many trips and it is definitely going to be my ONLY CHOICE when I visit Madrid. I left my wallet in the bar--with more than 2000 euros-- and they sent it to my room almost immediately. […] Special congratulations to the Barman and the receptionist Please read this again. "Beautiful hotel and wonderful staff"
We stayed at the Claridge our final days in Madrid. The hotel is beautiful and staff very accommodating and helpful (except for the rude blonde waiter at the cafe/bar). They are walking distance close to the metro but we found everything else too far to walk so opted for cab rides to all the sites.Genuine Expedia guest review

"September In Madrid - Wonderful Stay"
The Hotel Claridge is centrally located on Plaza Conde Casal in a residential area of Madrid. There are restaurants, coffee shops,, bakeries, and outdoor cafés in the vicinity that are popular with all of the local residents. The hotel is easily accessible to all of the tourist attractions and areas by bus and train. If walking in Madrid is your fancy, […] it is a lovely area for walking with destination "El Retiro". The hotel staff was courteous and always ready to assist , answer questions and resolve any concerns, Our room was large and comfortable. It was decorated in a contemporary style, with large windows that opened easily. There was a large bench for luggage, a safe and a large closet for clothing. The room also had a mini refrigerator. The bathroom was large and modern with a walk-in shower. The hotel was quiet as we never heard other guests in the hallway or elsewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Good hotel, so-so location"
My wife and I stayed at Hotel Claridge for 5 nights in mid-June 2013. The room and the bathroom were big and clean and had the advertised amenities (except for the king-size bed which ended up being two twin beds next to one another). The wifi internet was free but very slow. The location is somewhat of a drawback. On the one hand, the hotel is right […] next to the subway stop of line 6 (circular line) and is only 25-minute walk away from the main train station (Puerta de Atocha). On the other hand, it is somewhat removed from most attractions in Madrid, and there are very few restaurants close to it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Ideal location friendly staff"
My wife and I stayed here for 3 nights whilst over for a wedding. Incredibly easy to find right next to Conde de casal metro station. Staff were very friendly and the concierge chatted to me for about 5 minutes about the city, how to get about and his love of atletico Madrid. (All in Spanish but the gist was understood). Our room was nice and big, very […] clean and with a lovely shower in the bathroom. Air conditioning was also very effective. Only complaint would be that our double bed was effectively to single beds pushes together which made the bed massive, but as the mattresses weren't attached they had a tendency to slip away from each other (making it difficult to get a wee cuddle in the night). Overall lovely stay and would thoroughly recommend Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Very nice rooms"
The hotel itself is very nice and is close to the metro, shopping, restaurant. The front concierge, Najib was extremely helpful. He gave excellent directions and places to go see. When we booked We had asked specifically for a double bed and bath tub. We received two singles and a shower. The front desk advised us that they were no rooms available with […] double bed and bath tub. Check tomorrow. The next day the front desk advised that a bath tub is only available with triple??? "Very comfortable stay"
We had 2 nights here. The reception staff were very friendly and helped us with bags and getting taxis. The room was at the back of the hotel and very quiet. Bed was lovely and comfortable. "Great hotel that let down by staffs"
Madrid was third city after Valencia, but after long trip, i was sincerely looking for good sleep. the hotel was very good access from motor way from Valencia but i was very disappointment with hotel staffs which are stuck in ground floor. Receptionist were very stubborn and not quite satisfactory, did not feel any friendly gestures nor helpfulness […] to support my parking in the city. so as for bellboy whom is inside the building and didn't appear at the hotel entrance for baggage drop then suddenly appear after check in but still he was the only friendly person there. quite a good location for access to the main train station and airport but a bit too isolated from the city centre. "Excellent hotel with helpfully staff"
I found the hotel to be of a very high standard with excellent staff . It was a bit further from the centre than I would have liked but the metro was very close and easy to navigate so not a big problem. Easy to get to from Madrid airport by metro which I did on arrival and used the hotel shuttle on departure which was only 22 euro.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great location & service"
This is a great hotel and tremendous value for central Madrid. Easily reached via Metro from the airport (one change at Nuevos Minesterios), less than 100m from the Metro entrance, and easy walking distance from El Retiro park. I was very impressed and would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Busy 5 days in Madrid"
We just returned from Madrid having stayed in the Hotel Claridge for 4 nights. First impressions was it was near a busy roundabout. We were assigned a room on the fifth floor but after inspection asked to change due to the noise from the road even though it had a good view, the staff were very accommodating and gave us room 908 which was very quite […] but no view just the back of another building and dark, but this was fine for us. The room had all you need for a short stay, including LCD tv, mini bar etc. the bed was a tad hard for us but slept okay. The bathroom only had a shower no bath, toilet and sink again fine for us, All nice with air con as well. We didn't book breakfast due to earlier reviews saying about the cafes around, well we looked and didn't like them much so in the end paid for the buffet breakfast in the hotel 13.40 euros a day. The breakfast was nice though the service could have been better as plates etc were not cleared that quick if at all. We requested a couple of things and eventually our requests were met, not before gentle reminders, i.e.. spoons when they were empty. Overall we were pleased wit the hotel though the location away from the main area can be a bit of pain having to get the metro back and forth when you want to freshen up. We used the 12 euros ten ride tickets between us and found the metro very good. The porter were very helpful with directions etc and helpful hints.. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

It was such an ice experience. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I was not really impresses by the food though but the cleanness and especially the Gym downstairs was very good.
