"Hotel is alright but the staff not so much."
This hotel was in a decent location and the rooms were alright. They were more Victorian style but clean and comfortable. The free breakfast was mediocre but was this way at most of the hotels we stayed at. The reason why u rated the hotel as a 3 was because of service. Let me just say that the young kids that worked there were very nice. My problem […] was with the older gentlemen with light hair and glasses who looked like he ran the place. I wish I could remember his name. He was pushy, rude, and ripped us off when we asked for a taxi to the car rental facility. The day before a water taxi said $10 euro for a ride so when I asked this man at the hotel to call us a taxi he said ok, called, and then turned around 10 min later as we were waiting and demanded I pay him $80 euro for the taxi and he gives the driver a receipt. It's my fault for not asking the price but before he called he said it was only a 7 min ride. Who charges $80 euro for a 7 min ride anywhere? No one on my entire 2 week vacation except this guy. He ripped us off and left a bad taste in our mouths. For his rudeness I would not stay here again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Honeymoon in Venice."
Area of town was perfect. Very close to all the high points, but off the beaten path enough to feel quaint. The hotel was clean, comfortable and the staff were so pleasing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Beautiful and perfect location"
This hotel was very beautiful and in the perfect area...far enough away to not be crazy busy on the surrounding streets, but close enough to walk to the major sights. Also, water bus stop very close. Only issue was finding it, but asked a local gondola driver and he was able to get us there. However, I suggest getting specific directions from the water […] bus stop before arriving as I wish we had done that. The hotel and room were beautiful...I would definitely go back. "Luxury but cosy"
Small hotel with very good location. Less than 20 rooms in ancient building, all are well decorated and equipped. Just around 20 minutes walking from Roma square, one block to water bus station. Hotel staff was very friendly and offered immediate assistant in any of our need.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great location, beautiful hotel"
Great location, close to everything, but a bit away from the main crowd. Friendly staff... a little pricy, of course, but it is Venezia!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"First Class Accomodations"
I was absolutely amazed at the luxury of this hotel. They spared no expense in the craftsmanship. The staff was so accomodating and helpful being this was my first stay in Venice. The room was very large and overlooked the beautiful garden area. Absolutely will be back!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel, on the edge of a canal and close to a wonderful chocolate shop. Great restaurants nearby - the hotel is located in the quieter part of Venice, which is what I wanted. The hotel has a wonderful decour, Victorian mixed with Venetian and the rooms are adequately equipped including a huge TV screen. The rooms are not huge, which is typical […] of Venice due to the age of the buildings. Bathrooms are clean and have a walk in shower, bidet, sink and toilet. The continental breakfast was good with a selection of meats, cereal, pastries, cheeses, fruit, bread etc. the hotel also has a small and pretty courtyard to the rear. The staff were friendly, helpful and polite. Would I come back to this hotel? Absolutely! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the entire stay! I rang my kids back in Australia straight away to tell them how fantastic this hotel they booked for us was! Loved everything!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Was overly disappointed as had great expectations. There was fruit fly in the bathroom and a smell of yeast. Our room was in the middle of the breakfast serving area so were awoken by people going to breakfast. One of the reception managers was excellent but the other two were pretty useless and unable to do a simple request like booking a restuarant […] for us. We never heard if it was booked or not! We stayed for 2 nights in a very nice room with quality fittings. it is situated very close to the Vaporeti stop of La Toma (first left, first right). The breakfast was good quality. The staff were helpful so overall a nice stay.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful hotel and amazing location"
Beautiful hotel located 100 metres from the Grande Canal (S. Tomà vaporetto stop). The hotel has beautifully decorated interior with stunning bedrooms and bathrooms. The staff were polite, helpful and courteous. Overall this was a good hotel, situated ideally to really get to see Venezia and it’s surroundings. I would definitely stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I loved the hotel- it was truly beautiful. The rooms were very spacious and perfectly clean. On a quiet canal, the location was great for enjoying the less touristy parts of Venice. I would go back without question!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I had a wonderful 2 days The only problem with the rooms is you can easily hear the room next to you especially if there is someone watching tv or a crying baby (sadly it happened with us )Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Great location and very comfortable"
The hotel was located is a nice area of Venice (San Polo). Access was easy to hotel via the water ferry which was close to the San Toma stop. Getting to the airport via water ferry was only another stop away which was easy to access. The room was well presented, clean and comfortable. Breakfast was included and nice. The area has the best restaurants […] in my opinion as we found the more popular ones of San Marco disappointing. You will enjoy your stay here as we did Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Fantastic hotel, amazing room."
From the moment we arrived we were made to feel very welcome. Palazzetto Madonna was a fantastic gem, so easy being a few seconds walk from San Toma vaporetto stop. Our room was breathtaking and had so much attention to detail. TV in the mirror, chaise longe, and the very opulent bathroom were even better than we hoped for. Hermes cosmetics were a fab […] touch. Only problem was shortage of hot water for baths and showers especially at breakfast time. Breakfast was really good, great selection and plenty of each dish. Great fresh coffee machine. "Very stylish hotel in convenient location."
My daughter and I stayed for four days. The room was very chic, immaculate, and very comfortable. All the staff were delightful and very helpful. Breakfast was buffet style with hot and cold food. Freshly squeezed orange juice a perfect start to the day. The hotel was a 2 minute walk from the Toma water taxi stop on The Grande Canal. Great hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
Lovely stay in August. The staff are brilliant not interfering but always on hand with suggestions if asked. We were lucky enough to be upgraded to a garden room having booked a standard room. The room was large and luxurious with its own terrace. To get to the hotel we caught the water bus to the Rialto bridge and walked to the hotel. Think carefully […] about the size of case you want if taking this option as you will need to walk over many small bridges. We use a combination of goole maps and looking for the number of buildings to find the hotel. As the hotel hadn't been opened for long asking people working close by did not help. This saved a considerable amount on selecting a water taxi and better than a standard taxi that will take you to the bus station which is a similar walk. There are facilities on the first floor to print your boarding card and Michael or Luuca will sort out a well priced water taxi for your return. Refreshments are available served in the garden just ask prices are better than expected. The osteria just along the road is great try their own prosecco laid down in their cellars for some of the best priced in Venice. Food was delicious and great atmosphere. Breakfast was served over a long period so you didn't feel rushed. You could eat inside or in the garden. Breakfast staff were very attentive they new we preferred freshly made coffee over the machine available. Great hotel we hope you enjoy your stay as much as us. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Luxury hotel. Central location. Ideal."
My wife and I stayed 3 nights as an anniversary treat. Great position for viewing everything Venice has to offer. A few yards off Grand Canal and near a water taxi stop. We had a canal view room which was fascinating. A minor canal but still plenty of activity in the morning with boats unloading etc. ( not too early!). Our room was quiet and of a very […] high standard facility wise. Very clean and comfortable. Hotel is a recently renovated 500 year old building full of character and typical Venetian over the top decoration to a very high standard. Staff were very friendly and helpful with anything we needed. Breakfast excellent. Plenty to choose from to start the day. Particular thanks to Luca on reception for his willing help. A 48 hour actv water taxi ticket is highly recommended giving unlimited use all over Venice and near islands. Also a fast personal water taxi to airport at end of stay was an excellent method of travel to finish off. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
The hotel was great. It was close to various restaurants and cafe's for meals and also a corner shop for small things to be bought. It was close to the Water Bus (Vaporetto) so that travel was convenient around Venice.Genuine Expedia guest review

Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Sehr schönes Hotel in San Polo"
Die Lage ist sehr gut um alle Sehenswürdigkeiten schnell zu erreichen. Jedoch weit genug vom Massentrubel entfernt. Vaporetto Haltestelle in ca. 150 m Entfernung.

"Physically pretty but lacks in service at high cost"
07/17/14 lindcam Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania USA
Spending approximately $1k/night for two rooms, we were disappointed in the overall service. During our 3-night visit, we concurred that they did not really have the staff available for servicing at a high end hotel. Most importantly, one of our family members erroneously left 2 fairly expensive dresses in her closet - we immediately contacted the hotel by phone that same day, and we were told that they did have the dresses. We emailed the hotel repeatedly from Rome and when back in the US with a FedEx account number to ship the dresses - without response. We followed up with a phone call this week, and they said they cannot ship them to the US via Fedex (we provided a FedEx location within 12km of the hotel). We were asked to give them a credit card and they would ship via Italy Postal without any guarantee of tracking the package or receiving it. Our requests to ship via a trackable shipper have remained unanswered. Very disappointing and demonstrates a lack of professionalism.

The rooms are of an impeccable taste, very big and comfortable. The shower has a chromotherapy technology in which mini lamps change colors and that makes every shower very relaxing. The service is great, very kind and friendly staff. Furthermore, it's near the most famous touristic points if you walk a little and it's surrounded by great restaurants, so if you go down you will have 3 or 4 options with an amazing environment and view of the canals. Breakfast is also impeccable and there is a terrace where you can enjoy better every bit of the food and the landscape around you.

The Palazetto Madonna hotel was the cherry on top of our holiday to Venice. Situated in the perfect quiet location within close proximity of all main attractions. 10 minutes from Rialto Bridge, 25 minutes to St Marks Square. The nearest waterbus stop is about a 3 minute walk. The hotel was exquisitely furnished and well presented. During our stay we were treated of a very high standard. A full continental breakfast was served every morning between 7.30 - 10am. Great recommendations and service from the front desk. We will definitely be staying here again. Cannot wait to return, highly recommend.
"don't stay here"
07/09/14 ashtray65 Glasgow, United Kingdom
we booked a room with lots of notice at 350 euro per night , we asked for a quiet room not on first floor. so we arrived and they gave us economy room on first floor next to electrical cupboard with a loose door , so every time one of the neighbouring rooms opened there was a buzzing sound , every time the cupboard was closed a banging sound , buzz - bang all night long. description said 15 min walk for st marks - when we mentioned its over 30 mins away - they said yeah maybe 20 mins or more - location is middle of nowhere . room was really a large cupboard with no room to move , another door opened onto terrace except it didn't they wouldnt unlock it for us . on night of arrival on a tuesday night we asked for a veggie or japanese restaurant recommendation - they sent us to a fish based italian that was shut on tuesdays 25 mins walk away . barely 1 star , just don't stay here
"Very nice and quiet place"
06/21/14 502Maria Cascais, Portugal
We enjoyed staying at Palazzetto Madonna in Venice. Small, cosy and well decorated, quiet and good breakfast, with a very helpful waitress, near everything in Venice, museums, restaurants, going on foot or by boat (vaporetto or motoscafo). The staff was nice and gave us the suggestion to eat at a restaurant (El Cason) with excellent food and service. The owner lady was marvellous and so were the Gnocchi! The surroundings are very typical of Venice: the streets, the canal, the bridge and the buldings. The only problem was the first night. We had asked for a deluxe room with canal view and were given one, very comfortable, but on the groundfloor, which was too noisy. Noise from the street and from inside. That was impossible to bear! Next day we moved to the first floor, to a standard one with garden view, which was much smaller, but quiet and comfortable as well. We payed the same, but the manager offered us a spumante and didn't charge us for the minibar when we left. A peculiar detail and much nicer in the room is that you don't see the TV set, it's behind a mirror. Travelling by motoscafo is rather expensive, but there is a vaporetto stop nearby, San Toma, and still it is so pleasant to walk though Venice. As a gondoliero told us "You should get lost in the streets of Venice".
"Cool, calm boutique hotel"

Mum and I have just returned from 2 nights in this lovely boutique hotel. Great furnishings and room sizes, lovely cool courtyard to have breakfast, beautifully located on a side canal, away from the very busy grand central canal. The vaparetto (water bus) is a 1 minute walk from the hotel and can take you very quickly to Rialto bridge, the art museums and st marks square, for short trips it couldn't be easier! Personally I wouldn't use the vaparetto for getting to and from the airport (can take up to 2 hours) budget in the expense of a private water taxi (€115 each way and takes 30 mins) which will drop off / pick up right outside the hotel door. Staff are very helpful & friendly and can make some great recommendations for where to eat.
"Unique little hotel"

We stayed here for a few nights during Dec 2013. We arrived via private boat so it was very handy (on a cold winters night) to have the water access at the hotels front door. We had a big blue room and it was stunningly furnished and so comfortable - this place is certainly one of a kind/boutique style! The only issues we had were that the shower for some strange reason couldn't keep the same temperature for more than 20 seconds (hot/cold/hot/cold) and we got trapped in the elevator for a few minutes, but its only 1 flight of stairs so that will teach us for being lazy ;)
"Perfect location and great staff"
05/17/14 flexcrac Coppell, Texas
Hotel was in great location near several good restaurants but just off the beaten path. Staff was extremely helpful and attentive and constantly asked if they could do anything for us. Breakfast was good, courtyard nice and the room upgrade with the terrace was the best. The only suggestion would be to change out the bed from 2 beds pushed together to one queen or king size unit. Would definitely recommend for a romantic place to stay for a couple.

Nice hotel in a quiet neighborhood, front desk was very helpful with details during our stay. Easy walk to main sites and was easy to find from the water bus drop off. We stayed in a superior room, bathroom was a bit small for the price.

We had an excellent stay here. The Hotel is very chic boutique, and our room was amazing. The television was actually a hugh mirror, very high tech. The bathroom was stunning. The Hotel was close to the Rialto Bridge, although with all the little alleyways, it is very easy to get lost. It was also difficult to find on arrival at night in the dark. The breakfast, is self service, but with a wide variety of choices being both continental and hot food. Would love to go here again. Beware, do not fall for the receptionist, advising of a free water taxi to the glass factory, this is free, but you are expected to part with vast somes of money at the glass factory. We did not and got shown the back way out!!
