Great place but a bit off the center of the city - but closer to Industrial area of Origgio. Malpensa is about 45 KM away with a very good Malpensa-Milan Express train service available to Seranno and Linnate about 60 KM away. Milan Station is about 45 minutes away by taxi on a good day. Train service from Serrano to Milan (close to hotel) is infrequent. Service provided is excellent with the staff being cheerful and helpful. Breakfast is good as in most of Europe (unlike England!). Great room size and well maintained.

The hotel staff were very friendly and accommodating. Food was great. The complimentary breakfast had a great assortment of cheeses, meats, fruit, cereal, and croissants and bread. . It is across the street from the lake so the view is pretty from the rooms.

My wife and I travelled to Lugano for a business meeting that I had and we chose this hotel so that she could enjoy the city while I attended meetings. Everything is well within walking distance of this hotel, while they also have nearby parking as we had a car. Our room fronted the lake and we also enjoyed the view from the breakfast room the following morning. It is an older hotel with character and an efficient staff. We would stay here again.

We had a great time in and around Hotel Villa Giulia. Our room opened onto a great terrace and the lake and mountain view was excellent. The nearby... gelato place with amusing names for the flavors to the pizza/deli/beer place just a block away provided a very comfortable location to relax in the evenings after sightseeing. Learned that peperoni in Italian means red peppers. Learned to say salami picante instead! Oh, and the inexpensive bus to Bellagio worked out fine for folks without a car. Det var en fantastisk oplevelse at bo på hotellet selvom vi var skuffede over værelset ved ankomsten.(Vi havde ud fra beskrivelsen forventet et værelse ud mod søen - men vi skulle være ude på terrassen for at få søudsigt - værelset lå sidst i rækken, så der var kun sol om formiddagen. Værelset var lille og vi kunne ikke være 2 på badeværelset.) Men […] - vi kom til at holde meget af hotellet med fantastisk service, imødekommenhed og mad.
