"A lot of fun"
The owner is very nice and accommodating! We do not speak Italian. He does not speak English. He met us on the street as we were bumbling our way around trying to find the Hotel. It is tucked away from the main street without much signage. I brought along a photo of the door to the hotel to help us find it. Even though we did not speak a common language, […] other than "cash", we managed quite well. He offers a nice Italian style breakfast and encourages you to eat more. He held our luggage on the day of departure until an agreed upon return time so that we could go see the sights. Remember, you will need to carry your luggage up four or five flights of stairs to your room, pay in cash, and we don't believe there is any parking near by. We took the city bus from the airport to downtown from where it was a short walk to the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"In center of town close to everything"
Great place to crash for the day to see Pisa, food was great, location is great. A.c is great, but has no elevator if u can't climb up 5 flight of stairs just a f.y.i. I would defenitly stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"good location for only one night."
Very small rooms, lot's of street noise all night long, it's OK but nothing extra. They are advertizing they will provide transportation from and to the airport, they do not. Only Italian language is spoken. Breakfast is OK, juice, fruit, coffee and rolls. Nothing to put on the rolls. sanitation in the kitchen?? If you've read the other reviews, this one wont be much different. The owner, Benito, is truly a great guy. Although he speaks no English his daughter does and it worked out fine. This was a fabulous place to stay and the price was beyond reasonable. Everything seems cheaper in Pisa and the locals are friendlier than in Florence. I would make a point […] to stay here again. "An excellent but hard to find hideaway"
Our proprietor was excellent. Welcoming but fluent only in Italian and French, neither of which we spoke. But we managed nonetheless to communicate quite effectively. Our room was small but perfect for our needs and located wonderfully within walking distance of the Leaning Tower and on a colorful street overflowing with shops and eateries.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"It's not a hotel"
It was difficult to find it, although I had the address as well as GPS coordinates, because there are no any signs. It's not a hotel, you'll rent one of two small rooms in an apartment. The owner is a nice old man, but he doesn't speak English at all. The room is clean and has everything I needed, but it's very noisy and it was difficult to sleep. You […] cannot park or even drive on that street, and there is no an elevator, while the rooms are located on the 3rd floor. So, if you have some heavy luggage, it will be not an easy task to get it from your car, which is far far away, to the room. Taking into account the fact that I paid for the room more than I did for rooms in exceptional **** hotels in Italy and some other european countries, I cannot recommend this facility. "Friendly and affordable"
I booked this bed and breakfast at the last minute when I had to stay in Pisa because of a train strike. I highly recommend it. It's affordable, near shopping and attractions and the service was excellent. The owner does not speak English, but we were able to figure it out. He was extremely friendly and accommodating and the B&B is beautiful.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Very comfortable, in a historic house. The owner could easily be the nicest man in Italy. Would go again, just to stay there!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"One night in Pisa"
This hotel is OK because of the location. Other than that I would not recommend. Very difficult to find if you're driving. If arrive after 10:00 PM the surrounding area is off limits to cars without permission. Otherwise you get a fine of about 135 EU. Almost $196 US Dollars - ouch!!!!!!! If you have to walk, better ask for direction before heading […] out on an adventure, it's hard to find. The owner was not happy when my wife and I arrive around 11:00 PM. The next morning it was very uncomfortable as the owner was a very grumpy old man. I travel allot, on business and take frequent vacation with my wife all over the world, normally I don't like to write or post negative reviews on hotels unless I have to, and this one I just would like to inform any future guess as to what to expect before hand. I always read the comments before selecting a hotel. It helps tremendously for various reasons. So I don't want to come out as negative just informative. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"I Due Borghi in Pisa"
Benito is a gracious host, but it makes it interesting to communicate since he doesn't speak much English and we don't speak much Italian. Somehow, we made it and survived. The a/c worked very well, the wi-fi did not, and the shower was small, as was the bathroom. But for one night, we would certainly recommend it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"nice B&B in the centre of Pisa"
lovely little bed & breakfast but there were some issues. I booked a single room as I was travelling alone. I was aware that the proprietor did not speak English as noted in some of the other reviews & he really doesn't. He welcomed me & helped me with my bags as the B&B as up 2 flights of stairs. The décor was very kitsch but very clean. The proprietor […] led me to my room which turned out to be a double. I was very pleased. The room was very clean with on suite bathroom as described. The breakfast was prepared by the proprietor - he could not have been more helpful (but will try & insist that you drink coffee at breakfast). The breakfast was very good - fresh focaccia & cheese & salami plus fresh sweet pastries with fruit juice. Cereal/ crackers & bread are also available. The only down side was that on the last night when I returned, I was asked to move rooms to a single as they had a couple arriving. I did not expect to move rooms at this point. I did not expect to have a double room but I did expect to stay in the same room for my whole stay, not move rooms on my last night when I was very tired & was flying early in the morning. This marred my stay. The other thing to note is that although Expedia takes back up payment through credit car, the proprietor only takes cash payment. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quaint, friendly, homely - Italian."
Don't expect to get a Taxis here from the airport as they are not happy for such a short journey. Bus is cheap and fast to train station then a 10 min walk to Hotel. "Character and value in good location"
We booked Due Borghi based on on-line reviews and were not disappointed. We loved its character and felt immediately drawn into the Italian experience. The owner, Benito, is delightful and welcomed us like one of his family. The hotel is quietly located just off one of Pisa's main streets and close to all sights and amenities. Benito recommended the […] restaurant on the ground floor of the building where we had a good meal at a reasonable price and we enjoyed the Tuscan breakfast. To get to the hotel you have to go up three floors and there's no lift, so it wouldn't suit everyone. Also some of the rooms are up another floor via a spiral staircase. Take cash as credit cards aren't accepted. Benito doesn't speak English, but is so friendly it really doesn't matter! We only stayed a night, but this hotel could work for a longer stay as there are plenty of places within a day trip of Pisa and public transport is easily accessible. It's perfect for anyone wanting local colour, convenience and value for money. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This is more of a hostel than a hotel, so when we reserved late the owner wasn't there when we arrived, but after giving him a call the experience was exemplary, he showed up in a few minutes, let us in to our very reasonably priced and comfortable apartment, and served us breakfast himself the next morning. What initially seemed like it was going to […] be a very inconvenient stay ended up being one of the best experiences of oue trip, I absolutely loved the city and in particular the experience at this hotel. "Lovely characterful rooms"
We loved our stay here. Previous reviewers have sometimes commented on the language barrier but we managed absolutely fine. Waving of hands and google translate goes a long way! "A little taste of authentic Italy"
If you a looking for an authentic taste of Italy then the Due Borghi is the place to stay. It is situated down a little alley off one of the main street of shops and cafes in Pisa. Benito, the owner speaks no English, but he is so warm and welcoming than you somehow understand each other with gestures and it he adds to the charm of staying there. The […] bed rooms are up several flights of stone steps, so take this into consideration if you have mobility problems. Rooms are decorated in typical Italian style with dark woods. They are small, but more than adequate. Free Wi-Fi is available. Remember to take your own toiletries as only liquid soap is provided. Breakfast is lovely, Benito serves you himself and we felt like his personal guests rather than paying guests. Breakfast starts with a sweet pastry followed by cheeses and meats and Italian bread. Benito kept urging us to eat. This delightfull B&S is in a great location being only 15 minutes walk from the train station and about the same distance to the leaning tower. We have assured Benito that we will be back. You really can't beat this place if you are looking for a budget hotel in the heart of Pisa. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"good value for money"
It`s a couple of floors up with no lift so could be a problem for some. Quite comfortable little room but shower a bit temperamental. "Great Italian style character."
We had a very welcome greetings upon arrival. Owner doesn't speak english, but it just adds to the great cultural experience. I practiced my Italian a little bit. We read a lot of reviews before going and took our own bath products. There was liquid soap and hair dryer in the bathroom. Air-conditioning. Place has its character with lots of pictures […] and antique pieces. It matched what we asked for, it was comfortable, clean, has its character and we could experience touch of italian culture and style. Located in city centre, just of a busy street. Walking distance from Leaning tower of Pisa and you can even walk to airport in 30-40 min. We got engaged on the first night and my fiance had email the owner and we had fresh roses in the room and 2 little chocolate on the pillow. Breakfast was pleasant, fresh bread and coffee. He cut up some meet and cheese individually for all the guests. He even showed us where he is expanding one of the floors and making some great size rooms. We liked Pisa and the BnB. "On street parking nearby"
Delays at the airport meant we were ringing the doorbell after 11pm but thankfully, the owner was expecting us. Without further delay we were taken up several flights of steps to our room. The b&b is centrally located in a maze oif tiny streets, the Leaning Tower is only a short walk away and for those arriving by car, nearby street parking is plentiful. […] We had found it using our sat nav. Without that or a good street map, it would have been a challenge! We returned a week later, having established by an anxious telephone call some days after our visit that the expensive designer jacket left behind was still there. We think that speaks volumes. "Great B and B in Pisa"
This very homely B & B is located at the far end of a quiet lane which branches from a lively pedestrian precinct.. Taxis can drive to the corner and guests walk 50 metres to the premises. I Due Borghi is not flash-looking from the outside and is situated on the second floor with no elevator. This may be a negative for some people. We were greeted […] very warmly by the owner who spoke no Englsh but gestures and smiles were adequate. The rooms are not large but are decorated in a true Tuscan style, with exposed overhead beams, "Italian" photos , pictures and ornaments etc. Lots of character. Guests specify what time breakfast is required and the owner will knock on your door at that time and escort you up another floor where breakfast is served in a small room seating about six people. The owner proudly produces a very adequate continental breakfast of coffee, croissants, warm pastries, meats and fruit. The B & B is conveniently situated for exploring the main sights of Pisa and there are good restaurants along the lane and in the pedestrian precinct. We heartily recommend I Due Borghi B & B to anyone who'd like a real Italian experience. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"terrible - avoid"
We have had a terrible experience at this property. The owner left our belongings on the stairs freely accessible to other guests while he said we can leave them in the room on our last day. He has also decided he was going to throw away our boarding passes for our return flightô which cost us hundreds in fees while he said we should not have left them […] there and it is not his fault. The man was getting really argumentative and rude. AVOID at all costs. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
I Due Borghi, Pisa. We have stayed in budget hotels in Barcelona, Rome, Paris and Prague and Due Borghi was easily the worst place we have ever stayed! No reception, just a bell push on the door which the owner would answer....sometimes. We had to tell the proprietor what time we wanted breakfast then wait until he knocked on our door and took us upstairs […] to a very odd room. It was, in fact, his bedroom with a cover and cushions not quite disguising his bed, with a table laid (no plates just a serviette), however the breakfast was very nearly edible!! No wardrobe in our room, narrow, creaky beds, though thankfully quite clean. All in all a weekend to be forgotten and one to chalk up to experience. Incidentally the owner insisted that we had booked through Venere and had the paperwork to prove it. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
If you want a well located b & b close to Pisa's main attractions, then this hotel would suit. We found the entrance difficult to find, as it has a regular front door, and no obvious sign on the outside. The hotel was identifiable by the hotel name next to the doorbell. We arrived at midday and rang the bell, no reply. This went on for about 15 minutes […] before there was a greeting from an upstairs window. The host then came down and let us in. He appeared to speak little or no English, but we communicated via my relatively fluent Spanish and rudimentary Italian. It may have proven difficult for a non English speaker, although I have read other reviews which don't comment on this. The room was quaint, but it had a small bathroom. The toliet was squeezed behind the small shower cabin, with barely enough room to sit down on the loo, except slightly askew. Breakfast was a somewhat 'unique' affair. We had a choice of either an 8am or 9am sitting. We shared the table with some other English speaking guests. The host then began serving us coffee and pastries. He then brought bread, ham and cheese to the table, followed by figs. Felt like a family breakfast. If you want a more typical Italian experience, then it may be for you. If you prefer to serve yourself, then no. Finally, although reserving our room with my credit card, the owner insisted on cash, not credit card. I had to go to the cashpoint and this came as quite a surprise. Take this into account if you stay here. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

Stayed here for one night with our 2 year old daughter. Arrived late at night and was immediately shown to our room that was clean, comfortable and spacious for such a central B&B. The breakfast next morning was very good with coffee, warm milk, sweets, bread, and fruit. The host knows basically no English, and we do not speek much Italian, however […] communication worked out satisfactory anyways. The B&B has prime location with easy access to all of central Pisa.
