If you... do not have a car, you can go to the city by funicular that is walking distance. This was definitely one of the best and most value-for-money places we've been to in Spain! Really enjoyed it. Great staff, several who were able to speak English and happy to suggest restaurants etc. Extremely spacious room with views of surrounding countryside. The hotel was a few minutes from the cable car(free car park) into Bilbao so no stressful driving into city.

A very pleasant surprise up in the hills above Bilbao, in the quiet community of Artetxe. Get a map at the tourist office in Bilbao, or go to Mediamarkt by Ikea and buy a GPS.
