The hotel appeared to be brand new. Room was so nice and had beachy soft curtains which also blocked all light when we needed it to sleep late. We... couldn't see the gulf from our room but we didn't mind since we only had to walk outside to see a vast view of beach. Nice little bistro downstairs in lobby has everything anyone would want to snack, drink and even have a sit down meal. We didn't eat at the hotel but could see the variety of offerings. I came down to Galveston to play in a rugby tournament. The hotel was clean, up to date, and right across from the beach. Staff could've been better at breakfast bar, but really no complaints!
