"The perfect city pad!!"

We stayed in the studio apartment in September 2013, which definitely had the wow factor. Mood lighting, Bose sound system, rain shower, jacuzzi mood bath - it all added a great weekend in a great central location. Owner Mart was welcoming and helpful, making our stay easy. Looking forward to returning again one day.
"Wonderful apartment, thoughtful proprietor"

We stayed a week in the apartment studio. The proprietor Mart was very thoughtful. Warm and welcoming, but gave us space and privacy. We really appreciated the amenities, including coffee, teas and beverages. Apartment location is fantastic. The space itself is cozy with an amazing tub/shower area and cool light features. We would definitely recommend.
"Great location, very spacious and a great bathroom"

I stayed here for one night, but wish I could have stayed longer!! It was a spacious room, which took care of all the amenities. Perfect for a couple or a small family. In addition to the bedroom/bathroom, it also had a small kitchen space, office area and futon. The bed was very comfortable and the over all, the room was very clean. There is a secret closet to put your belongings, and is home to extra pillows, blankets and the iron! They over all lay out is very economical, open and maximizes the space. However, I wouldn't be do this room justice if I left out the very cool, fun and funky bathroom! While this room is located in the bottom floor of a building, it has a interesting fake skylight, big jacuzzi and an amazing stand up shower- all open concept. Over all the service and quality was great! Would stay there again in a heart beat! :) This room is great for a couple's getaway or could be fun for a small family.
"Excellent location, responsive land lord"

Location is everything. This property is located in a very nice part of Amsterdam, walking distance from all the major tourist attractions. The tram station is about 1 minute walk, and it is super convenient. Great for families. The land-lord Mart was very nice and responsive. We booked the place for three nights but because of some passport issues we had to arrive two days late. Mart was very accommodating and extended our stay for an additional night without charging for it. The apartment that we stayed in is the smaller of the two at this property and is at the street level. You can hear the walking traffic outside during the day-time, but it did not bother us at all.
"A Fantastic Hotel Option!"

We stayed for four days at the Amsterdam Boutique Apartments in September (the 16th to the 20th). We rented the ‘canal view split level apartment’. The apartment was a WOW, WOW and WOW! Our apartment was located on the top two floors of the building. Upon entering the apartment, a small hallway with powder room led to a large Chef’s Kitchen which was fully outfitted with all kitchen pots, pans, utensils and serving ware. The full dining room was set with a glass top table and Plexiglas chairs which was open to the living room and full window wall of glass facing the canal. The comfortable and stylish furniture was perfect for lounging any time of day. Impressive at night was the colored accent light system which could either rotate colors or stay focused on just one to provide just the right mood lighting. Climbing the open stairs led to a small mezzanine with a large Plexiglas desk and computer. Off the mezzanine was a small foyer off of which were two bedrooms and an impressive full bathroom complete with shower, tub and a two sink vanity. Sky lights on the upper level flooded the upstairs with outside light. The apartment was impressive. The friendly and professional owners were terrific – they greeted us upon our arrival and made certain we had everything we needed during our stay. If you are looking for a memorable accommodation in central Amsterdam located along a beautiful canal then we highly recommend the Amsterdam Boutique apartments. We look forward to returning to the Amsterdam Boutique Apartments on our next visit to Amsterdam. From our experience, this is the ONLY place to stay in Amsterdam. A five star experience, from start to finish.
"Stylist apartment in a great location"

What a beautiful apartment! Spacious, stylish and very comfortable, with a lovely canal view. Mart was a wonderful host and very helpful with advice, maps and restaurant reservations. The location was good too. Easy to get to from the station and great cafes and bars just around the corner. Thoroughly recommended.
"Lovely light modern apartment in this traditional old canal house"

My sister and I have just returned from a wonderful few days in Amsterdam. We had a warm welcome from Mart. The apartment was spotless and we loved the modern decor with an Indonesian twist. Situated in a lovely location within easy walking distance of everything we needed. The bedrooms are at the back so we were not disturbed at night. We would have liked to stay longer!
"Excellent accommodation in Amsterdam"

My wife and I stayed at ABA for six days in late August/early September. The place was great. The unit itself was well equipped, clean and spacious. We ate breakfast in our unit every day, having bought food at a local organic store (there are plenty of stores within walking distance to choose from). The location is wonderful, a short tram ride from the central station and walking distance to museums, restaurants and stores. Best of all, it is located on a canal. In addition to these many positive attributes, the owner-manager of ABA, Mart, was always available and helpful, with good suggestions about what to do.

We enjoy the place except the following points: 1. It is a private apartment so no daily cleaning available. After five days the place does need cleaning such as garbage need to empty and bedsheets need replace. 2. There are noise from the street especially at night when the drunk dudes running around. 3. There is no air-condition so some bugs and mosquitos do get in through the open windows. 4. On the last night we all got bedbugs bite especially my daughter so that was really disappointing. BUT we do had to say that it has the perfect location and the owner Mark is a very nice guy!
"A great place to stay in Amsterdam!"

We really enjoyed the split level apartment at Singel 401. (1)This is a great location from which to explore Amsterdam: you can walk just about anywhere and the tram if very nearby. There is some street noise as there are a lot of local cafes and bars but the bedrooms are at the back and so noise didn't bother us. There is a good very well-priced tapas bar (recommended by Mart) in the street behind the apartment and numerous other places to eat including Michelin-starred restaurants. There is a grocery store a block from the apartment. The Sunday art markets at Spui and Rembrandt Plein are very nearby and are fun to visit. The Spui area just behind the apartment also has a number of bookstores including the large American bookstore. The apartment is very close to the 9-streets area of Amsterdam and the Jordaan area which have lots of interesting shops and cafes. (2) The online pictures are very accurate and the apartment has lots of natural light with a beautiful view and interesting and comfortable decor. The orchids, other plants, large plant photographs, Asian artworks and beautiful light fittings in the apartment create a lovely environment. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom was luxurious with a skylight, a great big bath, a good shower and nice toiletries. The wardrobe is outside the bedrooms and is well-designed with plenty of good clothes-hangers.The wine, soft drink, and Nespresso capsules in the apartment were very much appreciated as were the lovely local chocolates and fruit. These supplies meant that we only had to shop for bread and a few other necessities and we didn't need to carry large amounts of groceries to the apartment. (3) There is a good computer, wifi network, TV and DVD player in the apartment and it is easy to play your music using Bose speakers (4) The kitchen is well equipped with a big kettle, toaster, Nespresso machine and enormous stove! There is plenty of nice glassware and crockery but I did miss having a colander to drain pasta and would have appreciated a few more cooking implements. (5) The apartment is 2 floors up with a flight of stairs between the 2 levels of the apartment as well. I was concerned about this as my husband had a back operation last year. Mart very kindly carried our large bags up and down for us in view of this. The stairs are a quite steep spiral as is common in Europe but are even and well lit with good handrails. We really did get used to them and felt that the beautiful view through trees to the Singel canal was well worth it. The stairs would not be suitable for anyone with reduced balance or mobility. (6) There is a good washing machine and dryer in the apartment but that is not included in the tarrif. The iron and ironing board cover are not up to the high standard of all the other amenities. (7) Booking was easy and Mart was a very welcoming host. He made the arrangements for a car to take us back to the airport and I'm sure would have helped with other things if necessary. (8) You can't move around the double bed in the second bedroom which might not suit everyone. Our son was very happy with the large comfortable bed however. I would be very happy to stay at Singel 401 again. We have great memories of Amsterdam!
