"business trip to beckton"
i usually stay at the premier inn ay beckton, but their prices are too high. Tried this hotel as its easy to travel to beckton on the dlr. The price of this hotel was nearly £50 cheaper, and to the same standard as the premier inn. It was vey busy here with young people or students and holiday makers, especially at breakfast time. The on site cafe/restaraunt […] served excellent food and the staff were very friendly. The in site pub eas also good serving very cheap pub food. The only downside with my stay was that it was so hot in the standard double room. I had the window open all the time but the noise from the adjacent building work was a nuisance. The hotel should perhaps provide the rooms with a fan. Other than that cheap and very cheerful. I have booked again for my next business trip in August. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great 2 night stay"
Easy walking distance for Excel and DLR very handy stayed when it was over 30 degrees in London so pretty hot as no air con in the room but hey how often does the Bristish weather get that hot! Great buffet breakfast excellent value, very good staff at the Ibis easy check in.Genuine Expedia guest review
"You get what you pay for"
I booked this hotel at short notice when I realised that a function I was due to attend would end too late in the evening for me to get home. This hotel was conveniently located for the Excel Centre, and as I only really needed a bed for the night, I thought a budget hotel would be adequate, rather than the 4 stars I would normally book. I guess that's […] the best way to describe it - it was very basic - a small room with a fairly comfortable bed and a miniscule shower room/toilet, but that's budget hotels for you. There are two Ibis Hotels at the Excel Centre and this one is by Custom House DLR. There is a major construction project going on right outside the hotel at the moment and while this didn't cause any noise problems, I didn't feel very comfortable walking back to the hotel late at night and it felt a bit more like a hostel than a hotel as there were a number of students sitting on the corridor floors outside the rooms. The other Ibis is much more convenient for the Excel and if I have to do this again, I'll pay a bit extra and stay at the Novotel. Mind you, I nearly ended paying quite a lot for my room as the receptionist insisted my room was pay on departure and charged my credit card when infact I had prepaid, but I did manage to get a refund after I complained. "Will be great when Crossrail is done"
This hotel will be great once the Crossrail works opposite are finished. Reasonably price, right by the DLR station and an easy run into central London, to Canary Wharf or to Stratford. London City Airport is only a few stops away (even with the change at Canning Town). Excel is over the road and O2 a short hop across the Thames. Right now, though, […] there's a slightly dodgy detour through the back of the shops to the station. One tiny niggle - the capsule bathrooms in Ibis are fine, when they have a glass shower screen. This one had a very British shower curtain which constantly clung to me. Icky! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

It was the worst experience...by all means including location, service, staff atitude, and room facility. I would never stay with this hotel..Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location for the O2 and DLR"
Nice budget hotel with good facilities. The breakfast was good too. Room was clean. The only slight criticism is the duvet is a bit small for two people.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Convenient location friendly and clean"
Rooms in need of a freshen up but okay for 1 night clean and very handy for the 02 ectGenuine Expedia guest review
Great Breakfast, clean & comfortable rooms, bathroom on the snug side but fine. Excellent location for the DLR although views not brilliant due to lots of construction taking place on the DLR. Will be fantastic when finished.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I have very mixed feelings about this hotel. Firstly, the hotel was in a great position for ths DLR so getting about in London wasn't hard no too expensive as we were in a certain number region. Other nearer hotels are more expensive and it makes little difference on travel. At the time of my stay there were quite a few building works going on so I […] have no comment on the area as it wasn't appealing to explore at the time. The hotel it's self was in decent condition but not as fun and modern as the pictures would have you believe. I found the furniture and decore to be a little cheap. It is very basic so good for people who only just want to sleep and spend little time there! The cleaners were fantastic, the receptionists were not. Most of the time they did not care for you and seemed to lack skill at their jobs. The bed was firm and a little uneasy to sleep on sometimes. The breakfast was not exciting but I was told it was good from my friends. The staff had already removed the food half an hour before the breakfast is meant to shut for myself. Overall you don't get a lot for your money but you do get a very clean and safe place to rest your head. I may even return again when on a budget! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Booked the hotel for it was close to O2 for a show. Managed to get confused with another Ibis hotel just down road but staff were helpful to point me to correct hotel. Room was ok although could hear airplanes passing over head. Shower was freezing in morning but breakfast was ok - generally good value for money and for ease of access to venue.Genuine Expedia guest review
Horrible, small rooms very, very basic. Hard to find!Genuine Expedia guest review

"Nice Hotel for price"
The hotel was situated outside London on the docks easily accesable by tube, the rooms was comfortable but the bar/restaurant needs some serious TLC overall good value for the money and good for the o2 arena.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Brilliant location - very poor breakfast!!!"
We stayed at the Ibis Styles ExCel in London near the O2 last Saturday. The location was perfect and the Hotel room was lovely and comfortable and clean. The thing that let this hotel down was the breakfast. It was the worst breakfast I have experienced in a hotel ever. It was all crowded into one corner so people were crawling over each other. At one […] time there was no bacon, no sausages in fact there was no sausages at all, no eggs, no hash browns and no bread for toast. Hardly any fruit only tinned Grapefruit, bananas, prunes and tinned mixed fruit. It took the chefs/staff over 25 mins to bring eggs out. You can make scrambled eggs in a couple of minutes or they could have fried eggs also in a couple of minutes. There were some mini muffins but no other pastries and no bread to go with the cheese and ham that was supplied. All this was before 1000 and breakfast was supposed to be running until 1100 so goodness knows what the rest of the guests had after this. I work in the hospitality service and surely the hotel must know how many they have booked in and therefore how much breakfast will be needed?? It is simple demand and supply. It was shocking. The management was clearly not there or inadequate as the staff were clearing tables but not replenishing the food supplies. It is such a shame because the rest of the hotel was lovely only to be let down by the breakfast. It will make me hesitate to book an Ibis again, although I hope this is just this one hotel and not t Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Good location for O2"
Good location, comfy rooms with bathroom 'pod' inside the room. Shower had good hot water but my Dad's room had sewage issues with smells issuing from the bathroom. As we were only sleeping there overnight after a late night concert it was manageable in the short term -Dad kept the door shut! Breakfasts were good and plentiful- hot and cold buffet. […] Dinner in the steakhouse had great steaks but bad chips- the oil was old and tasted foul. Helpful staff cooked new chips but couldn't resolve the problem. "Good value, shame about the WiFi"
I often use Ibis hotels, and they are reliably good value for a basic business hotel. However that good value sometimes comes at the expense of irritating quirks. In this case an overly complex WiFi system that the staff were equally frustrated with. I was given a total of 4 codes, because the staff expected most of them to fail ("invalid code"). And […] why do I need to give my postal address to logon! WiFi is a given for hotels, and lots of Ibis hotels get this right, but this one didn't. Otherwise the hotel is fine, although with Custom House station a building site, the neighbourhood for now is a mess. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice hotel for MCM!"
This was the first time I stayed in a hotel for MCM and I'm happy to say this won't be the last - I was told check in started from 14:00 but when I arrived at the hotel at 13:00 I was very pleased to find that I was able to check in early which was fantastic! The room itself whilst not the biggest room had everything I could want - toilet/shower/bed/TV/mirror […] and a place to hang my clothes, so no complaints! I found the staff to be very pleasant and very helpful, especially when the keycard to my room decided not to work! And the breakfast which was included was very nice and had a very good selection to choose from! I would definitely stay at the Ibis Styles again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Modern hotel with awesome breakfast"
I had an enjoyable stay here. The rooms were great - clean and I found the decor tasteful. Hardly anything to complain about except there were construction works going on near the DLR station and at times access was cut off. The shower stall is slightly small, but it's manageable. Breakfast is really good as there is a wide variety of food and drinks […] to choose from. Staff are really friendly and helpful as well. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

The hotel was a very good place to stay if working that side of London, the staff were very good which does make a change from the normal, the only let down is the the showers, the curtain always sticks to you because the cubical is too small and be carefull not to knock the mixer tap when showering you will get a hot or cold shock, but I would recommend […] this hotel to anyone. I have just returned from 3 nights stay at the Ibis Excel with my 5 year old son. The room didn't have much of a view (a wall and a roof) but it was a nice, clean, comfortable room. The shower room was unusual, it was a bit like a caravan shower room but I quite liked it. The WiFi is included and had a great signal that allowed me to stream movies on […] my iPad. The hotel is super close to the DLR for a short train ride into the central London and we heard no noise from the railway in our room. There isn't a great deal in the area except a few bars and shops. My son and I ate in the pub each night which was reasonably priced. The steakhouse looked nice but more expensive and there wasn't a kids menu. I would definitely recommend staying here if like me you are visiting London on a budget as it was reasonably priced but has good transport links to Central London. "Budget hotel close to the O2"
We stayed here for one night after a concert at the O2. As others have mentioned, rooms are clean but basic with tiny pod style bathrooms. There is some noise from the DLR and night buses. "Enjoyable stay in London"
We decided to book into the Ibis last minute after deciding to go away for the night! I used the expedia app which is brilliant and the booking took a few minutes. The hotel was easy to find and is right at the DLR Customs House station making access to Central London very easy. The room was comfortable and clean and a total bargain for what we paid […] for two people including breakfast. The hotel has car parking which is £10 a night. Ok for an over night stay check in and out very quickGenuine Expedia guest review
First we were told our room is in the 1st floor. We came down and it turned out to be on the 4th floor, after finally finding the room the door key did not work. So we had to come down AGAIN. Then they told us the pub closes at 11 with turned out to be wrong!!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great excel location and very comfortable bed, but"
Stayed for Excel and got a reasonable last minute deal on the day of a busy exhibition. Great location opposite Excel. Reasonable parking charge if there are spaces compared to main car park, phone ahead to check. The room was a bit small and you wouldn't want to stay in it for too long. The bed was very comfortable but the bathroom was a wee bit scruffy […] with a lack of attention to the all important details that so many hotel managers seem to fail to understand of our expectations. The breakfast was very nice. Overall this hotel was fine for the occasion and venue, but I wouldn't pay over £100 for this type of hotel anywhere else if on a holiday break. Due to cross rail works going on nearby sat nav tried to take me through inaccessible roads, so unless you know the area it is a bit of an effort to find the place. "A very cold hotel, to avoid in winter"
Not a hotel to stay in winter. I was first assigned a room that had two holes in the wall, through which direct cold air from the street seemed to come in. Upon my request, I was assigned another room that was equally cold. Somebody from the staff came in and showed me how to use a heater (which was not evident, and there were no instructions); however, […] the heater worked for a only limited time and then it automatically turned off. My plans to study in the evening in the room were frustrated because of the cold temperature, and it was a very cold night (the duvet cover provided was not enough to keep me warm enough). It seemed that air from outside came in through somewhere. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Handy for the O2"
We got this room at a bargain rate, last minute, for a place to rest our heads after an event at the O2. Easy to get to/from with a couple of stops on the DLR and Jubilee line. The Emirates Air Line is just one stop on the DLR or a ten minute walk. Excel is across the road. Check in/out was quick and simple and the staff were friendly. We didn't arrive […] until 11:30pm and needed food, the hotel were happy to arrange takeaway for us, snacks and drinks were also available from reception. The interior was a bit dated and in the Ibis style but everything was spotless, the bed was comfortable and the room had TV with standard Freeview channels, hairdryer, shower gel, tea, coffee and bottled water. For the price not bad at all! Breakfast exceed expectations, I expected a basic continental but they also served up sausage, bacon, eggs, beans, toast etc which was nice and hot plus the usual cereal, juices, pastries, fruit, tea and coffee. All of the staff we encountered were polite and friendly with even the housekeeping staff smiling and saying 'Morning' as you walked past. All in all a great place for a night or two stay.
