"Great Budget Hotel!"
08/03/13 Dennis S Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
if you want to spend some time getting away from the western bangkok this is a great place to stay. Very cheap room rates, big room size and very clean. The breakfast wasnt included, but at 100baht was a good option. The staff in the restaurant were very nice and were happy to have a chat.. Recommended budget hotel!!
"Affordable hotel - location not too great"

Great rooms, aircondition works like a charm. Old bulky television with Thai channels + Cartoon Network, but we didn't really use it so it didn't matter. Staff is very friendly and they're better at English than your average thai. It was our first time in Bangkok, so we were surprised to see the sheer size of the city. 9 out of 10 taxi drivers wouldn't drive us to the center of the city, and it was hard enough to get a cabbie to take us to the nearest metro. Would probably pick a hotel closer to the city center next time.

my wife and i have stayed at this hotel numerous times from almost the day it opened the service has always been good but staff changes has benefited foreign visitors. the rooms have always been spottlessly clean and the facilities working as they should and quietly. rooms are large with king bed in our room and hot shower in all rooms. there is also a long stay part of the hotel called 'mansion' i have never been in there but residents say room is same but no room or cleaning service, but it is cheaper 6 months stay minimum [ maybe negotiable]. elevators to upper floors. i find the staff friendly and helpful on all shifts the restaurant is nearby as is the pool. meals are good but not great slanting towards thai style and limited western dishes. price cannot be beaten on what you get at this hotel.
"In need of renovation"
06/17/13 Rich18962 Northampton, United Kingdom
First impression, is quiet and out the way, pleasent greeting and polite staff, Then on reaching the room the dissapoinment set in. The room was dated, old and worn in need to decoration. dust on the pictures, and when i sat on the bed it was like sitting on a slab of concrete. very hard. There was a balcony however this was unusable as the aircon unit was out there. not the most comfortable night though it was quiet. Breakfast in the morning was ok, nothing to shout home about. decided only to stop the one night and moved to another hotel. Honestly coulndt fault the staff, just the hotel requires renovaton.
"Excellent Value For Money"

Excellent value for money. Only about $5.00 cab ride from Bangkok International Airport. Rooms cleaned and serviced every day and always plenty of staff about. Room service from the Restaurant at very reasonable prices. Or if you wish you can dine in the well shaded garden close to the pool. The Chana is situated at the end of a dead end street and the only traffic are taxis and people staying there. Very quiet and peaceful. The Min Buri Markets, where you can by just about everything are only a short walk away or for a few Baht catch a van to Fashion Island Shopping Centre. All in all, excellent value for money, courteous and helpful staff and plenty of piece and quiet. I couldn't think of a better place to stay whilst in Bangkok. "Non better at this price point"

This hotel has been most unfairly judged by some people, and I hope that if you read this, which is my unbiased review, you may reconsider. Firstly this is on the Eastern suburbs of Bangkok, there is a lot of traffic traffic, but far less so than the city. The soi on which this hotel is situated is pleasantly quiet, and is kept clean and tidy by the staff. The hedges are neatly trimmed, and there is a distinct lack of litter. There are many hotels that are a lot nearer to Suvarnabhumi airport, if you are continuing your Journey, or need airport access, but expect to pay a considerable amount more than this. The restaurant is run by a lady who can understand English to a good level, and is most helpful and obliging. Her staff are very pleasant and polite and when not serving customers, keep the small garden which adjoins neat and well cared for which makes it a very nice place to relax. The menu caters for most tastes, and is of a good middle of the road standard. there is a small but very nice and well maintained pool adjoining the restaurant with male and female changing rooms, toilets, and shower facilities, the pool is suitable for children and has spa jets and a nice sun deck with some sun beds for those who like to cook themselves. At the rear of the Hotel there are the apartments which has long stay guests, and behind that is a small garden with some fitness equipment and a very nice Sala, this backs on to the San Saeb canal where you can get a boat to the local weekend floating market, you will need to ask at the reception to book you a boat, if you wish to go by that method or call a Taxi from the bell button on the wall opposite the restaurant. If you need laundry done, the reception will assist with this as it is done on site. also, you can if you wish, treat yourself to a Thai massage on site. The Hotel is managed by Tu, a very polite and pleasing young man, who incidentally speaks a lot better English than I do, he is most helpful and accommodating, the other reception staff do speak some English to varying degrees. The rooms are of a adequate size and are well equipped, all have a small balcony and a separate shower room with western toilet and wash basin. The beds may be a little on the firm side for some tastes, but if you must have sumptuous luxury soft beds, carpets, and beautiful designer furniture and fittings, then may I recommend the Oriental hotel, The Peninsular hotel or the Banyan tree hotel. There you will find the staff to speak any language you choose and all the facilities of any top class hotel anywhere in the world, but please expect to pay accordingly. There is Siam park not far from this hotel for family entertainment, it is about 80 baht by taxi, a little further is Safari world, a Thai zoo, and for the golfers there is Panya Inthra golf course, one of the top 3 courses in and around Bangkok, there are several others within 30 minutes by taxi. There is a fishing park not more than 8km where for 100 bhat and 50 baht for a bucket of bait you can fish the day away for sawai and the giant siam catfish, sawai average 5kg but up to 10 kg giant catfish average 8kg up to, well who knows, but I have had one over 40 kg. There are several markets in Min Buri, and at the weekend is the Chatuchak 2 market, which is certainly not a big or as crowded as the Chatuchak at Mor Chit, but is a place where you may find just about anything you may need. The Transport here is fantastic with buses, taxis, vans, songtaews, and motorcycles, to get you anywhere you need, a van to Morchit BTS station takes about 45 minutes and is 25 baht, From there to Morchit bus station by taxi is 70 baht , and from the bus station you can get to anywhere in Thailand that is north of Bangkok. You can even go to the sea side for the day from here in Min Buri, there is a bus that goes to Rayong, or a little nearer to Bang Saen, To sum up, this is a very good hotel if you do not require a beach side stay, or need to be in Khaosan Road, or Pataya, and at this price it is unbeatable.
I choosed this hotel coz no time for search and it was close to airport and no traffic! But rooms is terrible!!! Strange old smell! Old furnitures, very hard bed!!!! Small bathroom !!!! And this was like lux room:)) on the first floor room is more terrible.. No carpet and it looks like mental ppl hospital place!!!

The Chana Hotel worked out great for us. We didn't need much. We were happy with the hotel restaurant and there were several other choices within walking distance. There is a local market within walking distance. The family room was two adjoining rooms. One room had a queen bed and the other room contained 2 singles. This gave us lots of room (and some privacy). The bathrooms, however, were very small. The staff was helpful. There was carpet on the floor which caused me initial concern (as I am an asthmatic) but I had no problems with the room.
"Good & cheap!"

Cost me about US$18 per night. Quiet environment nothing much around the area apart from shopping complex. But for relaxation and getaway from crowded people it's a good choice.
"One of my favorite hotel!!!"

What we like about this hotel is that it's near the airport, so we didn't have to face the horrible traffic in the city. Also, all the hotel staffs like the receptionists are all friendly and very helpful with all the info about places or food in bkk (coz me and my boyfriend didn't know how to get to certain places like Silom and we both think that who else would know the info about which place is best for shopping or dining better than the locals themselves). The best part of our journey were the food at the hotel!! We both agree that the food at the hotel is so fabulously delicious. We love it so much that we mostly had dinner at the hotel. Haha!!
