"A romantic get away.."
Everything about our stay was perfect except for one issue. The hotel owns all the stores and shops in the area. The food prices and gift prices are are fixed and VERY high. Example: A hamburger sells for $14.00. Other than feeling ripped off in this area our stay was perfect. The beach is a 10 minute walk from the property and is very private and […] scenic. "Wonderful staff and lovely rooms"
I had a wonderful time at Anantara but the staff were what made the trip truly excellent. I gifted this trip to my mother for her birthday but on the very first day of our travels she tripped over and twisted her knee while we were exploring Turtle Village, the small shopping centre across the road. I dashed across to the hotel where the kind staff […] organised a golf buggy to come and collect her and take us back to our room. They then sent a first aid officer to help us and offered to call a nurse. Periodically over our entire stay the first aid officer would call in on us to check on her healing knee and even rigged up a walking stick to help her get around. The hotel manager even called us to check everything was ok. Other staff were wonderful as well; with the morning server at the breakfast sala (buffet) always greeting us with a smile and remembering our drink orders from the previous day. The hotel itself is beautiful, with a wonderful pool, comfortable beds (I was tempted to steal the pillows) and a giant bath you can truly sink into. The big draw back is the location. It is a 10- 15 min walk to the beach which isn't great in the heat and the hotel, while close to the airport (20mins away), is at least 45mins from the tourist attractions that may draw you to Phuket in the first place. If you're after peace and quiet this is the perfect place for you and if you don't mind the drive, taxi's are usually cheap and will wait up to 4hrs for you if you want to explore. We had a two bedroom poolside apartment but had not expected our own private pool. The apartment was very nicely furnished with two en-suite bathrooms, three TVs with DVD players and a well equipped kitchen with washing machine and drier. The grounds are beautifully laid out and the beach is just ten minutes walk through the complex. There are gift […] shops, coffee shops and a bar across the street and a supermarket five minutes drive away. I would recommend renting a car as it is not near to a town. "Not sure if I'd stay again"
I stayed in a 2BR pool villa recently. When I booked on this site, I was not aware/informed that the property was in soft launch stage. Construction was half done. Also, correspondence with the hotel staff suggested we'd be having breakfast at JW Mariott as the restaurant is not built yet. However, the counter staff vehemently denies this despite email […] proof and was arguing with me over semantics. Breakfast was served at Bill Bentley, which is rather horrid if this was truly a 5 star property. Despite being new, light fixtures were not working. The side table was broken. In all, don't stay here until they've sorted themselves out. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Anantara Vacation Club Phuket Mai Khao Dear Alvin Thank you for your comments and I am glad to announce that Anantara Vacation Club is now 100% complete including our restaurant 'Chaam'. Our wood-fired pizza sala 'Crust' is also operational so now there is not need to utilise our neighbours for a dining venue. I do hope you choose to stay with us again as I look forward to offering you an unforgettable dining experience. Thank you Lyndon Ellis General Manager
"High-end location.....remote spot away from crowds"
Anantara offered a very high end stay in Thalang which is about the only quite beach in Phuket. The facilities are top notch, especially with access to the Anantara hotel directly across the street which offered many restaurants and a fabulous beachside pool and patio. It is very remote here though which we found a blessing compared to the rest of Thailand […] which is very busy and very crowded. The Marriot next door also offers many services as well. The only caution we make is that the complex is still under construction so at times it was a bit noisy, but given the beach and pools you won't hardly be in your room anyways. "Fantastisk dejligt sted."
(ATV, elefant ridning, bådtur o.s.v.) Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

We stayed at the 1-bedroom pool villa for 4 nights. It was really relaxing. The breakfast was great, the villa was huge and clean, except for hardwood floor was a bit worn out. The service was efficient aswell. Too bad the pool in our villa was a bit cold to swim in during early February. We got free bike rentals to ride around the premises, the beach was absolutely lovely. We watched the sunset there on the very last day which was amazing! The downsides was that there was this Taxi price list sitting right outside of our hotel to the same location, but the one the hotel got us charged an extra 200thb. AVC was also way too far from Phuket City, thats why we never got to go there. We joined a local tour to the 8 James Bond Island with the sunset tour through our hotel, the tour was adventurous and worth the money! Highly recommended! I do recommend this resort to couples, family and friends if you're looking for a relaxing trip away from the city.

Stayed for 2 nights in villa, the resort was actually great. Villas were newly built and maintained in great condition. F&B was also great and worth the value. It was also close to the beach. SPA (at anantara resort) was also great according to my wife,
"Great hotel, but a long way to city"

We stayed in one of the apartments here and the room is perfect. Absolutely nothing wrong. All of the hotel bars and meals are reasonably priced and have great service. The big downside is the distance to town. I assumed it would be like other parts of Thailand and transport would be cheap. This is not the case. The hotel shuttle is expensive and the taxis are worse. If you want a peaceful week at the beach then this is the spot. If you want to travel around a bit more then factor in about $50+ a day to get around.

Absolutely beautiful spot at facilities but the thing that really makes this place shine is the staff and their ability to communicate and care with their guests. I took my son and he's in love with the kids club, it's all he wants to do is go back there. The staff there especially Jenny and Narr are simply amazing with children, I don't think there's anywhere else in the world where you can get such great child care for so little. Absolutely everything is there including x-box games, swimming pool, movies in the pool on floating rafts, rock climbing wall ... so much fun. It's hard to find good genuine service in Thailand but these guys have got it dialled in!
"Excellent service and resort but few items to ponder"
Stayed in this luxurious resort/ hotel chain in their 2 bed room apartment for 3 nights. Was a last minute plan as my uncle had to use up his points before it expired. I just tag along since it was free..hehe. Upon arrival at the airport, since we had already arrange for pick up from the resort itself, we just need to search for the resort representative holding the resort name card and it was a fast transaction. The pick up vehicle was quite big as we only filled up ½ the space inside. Received hot towels with nice lemon grass smell and drinking water upon entering the vehicle. That was very refreshing. Journey only took around 10 to 15 minutes. This resort is clustered together with Sala and Marriot resortat the very end of the north side of Phucket. Arrived and were greeted with smiles all around and the moment we step out of the vehicle we were automatically ushered to the lobby where we had our welcome nice cold tea..with a cold lemon grass smell towel...Lobby was quite small with fish pond at the one side. Checking in was fast..Ladies got quite a few welcome gift..but for us men nothing..so jealous..maybe this resort is meant for ladies only… Before we were ushered to our rooms, one of the receptionist came to us and ask us to go to the 60 minute presentation and upon finishing the presentation, we were given a choice to choose from a few vouchers. Since im new, I had to go on a separate presentation which will last me for 90 minutes and after the presentation, I would also have a choice of choosing the different types of vouchers. Ive read a lot of reviews before and all of the actually get to have a free 3days 2 nights stay at this resort upon completing the presentation but I didn’t even get that choice..I really wish to get that options.. I should have just decline their presentation and wait till they call or email me on this offer..Oh well quite disappointing on this part. And the presentation last ½ a day instead of 90 minutes..Maybe coz im interested and got further to the presentation. Well shall not elaborate much on the presentation but wat I can say is that its quite interesting for ure future. Anywaes, Below ill elaborate more on different aspect of the whole resort. Service: It was excellent. Really live up to their name. Smiles and greeting everywhere u go. Fast and efficient service. Whatever u want just ask them..they will try and help u as much as they can. Room: We stayed in a 2 bedroom apartment with our own private pool and it was huge..and I really mean huge and spacious. Had all the kitchen and laundry equipments. Every room had a huge television. And the living room have a huge sofa where 2 person can sleep on it. Bed was very comfortable but sadly only one bed is king size..the other bed room have 2 single beds. Pillows were too soft for my liking. Bath room was not that big but sufficient enough space but the sad thing is that only one bed room had a big bath tub..the other room no bath tub so we could not enjoy the bath tub at all but the bath tub is quite huge maybe can fit 3 adults.. But all this said, maybe it’s a standard for all apartments everywhere but they could make exception and be the only resort to have individual bath tub at every bath room and king size bed at every room. Okie now to the negative side of the room. - The sliding door is huge and that’s not all its very heavy.. so for those who dun work out it very difficult to open and close the door. - The toilet for the other room which is the common toilet can be opened at either the living room or the room but the problem is, the lock is located at the inside part of the toilet, meaning that whoever enters that toilet can easily access the room so theres actually no privacy for people in that room. - The common toilet have no separation for the toilet bowl area and is located very near to the door at the living room so whatever noise or smell that were produced from ur business could be heard and smell from the living room. So they should compartment this area just like at the master bed room. - We were only given 2 pairs of room slippers for a 2 bed room apartment? Usually im not particular about room slippers but as u go out and leave the air con on, the floor tile gets really cold when u come back so those room slippers is a must to walk around the house especially at night. - Their shampoo, conditioner, lotion etc…all smell of jasmine which they say that it was the smell of spa. But some people dun like the strong smell of jasmine so I cant try out any of it. But then again its just my opinion and taste. - The in room swimming pool is called private swimming pool but from wat I see, it should only be called ¼ private swimming pool. The reason is because the swimming pool is fenced up using bushes which leaves are falling apart leaving big gaps for people to peep inside. Theres a small door for u to enter and theres a lock on the inside which anyone can literally put their hands over the door to open the lock. This is very dangerous and anyone can just go in if we are not around and if we forget to lock the sliding door to our room or living room, people can just easily access it. - Since only the first storey apartments have their own swimming pool, there is a small shelter over the swimming pool. This was not very effective if that shelter is to cover from the apartments below for privacy. The reason is because the shelter didn’t cover completely from the view of the apartment below so the people staying on the apartment above can literally see us swimming in our own pool. That is not the worse part. Every day we would find tea bags packet lying around our pool and this could only come from the people above throwing their rubbish all the way down to our pool side. - As the private pool is like an open concept, there were days where birds, frogs would enter and one of the days, there were bees flying at the pebble area beside the pool and we had to cut short our time in the pool. - As this is a vacation club and we are staying in a 2 bedroom apartment, they should be expecting families to be staying in it and that would mean possibility small children staying. The pool only caters for adult and children could only play around the few shallow steps. - I dun know how the pool cleaning system work but day after day, the water in the swimming pool would turn greener. Restaurant & food: We had breakfast at their only restaurant. Food variety was not many but sufficient but taste wise was really not to our enjoyment and liking. Pastry was hard, sushi selection was limited(only 2 types) which the rice is very hard and I think they could have not included them. Egg station was always a lot of people. The lady at the egg making station was not friendly at all. There was once I saw that there is only one person waiting for her omelette, so I went and queue up. As I saw her concentrating on cooking the egg, not to be rude and just shout out my order, I waited until she would look at me and ask wat I wanted. She look up at me a few times as if I was an alien and just continue cooking then another person stand behind me and she ask him wat he wants. Lucky another male chef went to the other egg station and I went straight to him and with a smile he ask me wat I want. Fruit wise, I thought Thailand produce a lot of nice sweet variety of fruits but here, the fruits are very pale and are very bland. Oh well at least the servers in this restaurant are very friendly. We once ordered from the oven baked pizza place. To my surprise, they do not have beef at all..only chicken, vege, and pork. Had to personally ask to chef to alter the chicken to beef. Anywaes the pizza is tasty only the crust was quite hard. Location: Its at the north side of the island and Patong or the city area is like a 1hr car ride. Well just sleep in the car and u wont notice the time and distance. Its very near the beach which we got to catch the beautiful sun set but u have to walk like 10-15 mins to get to the beach. Its near the turtle village where its equipped with a few restaurant and shops for shopping and a mini mart. The prices there was quite expensive. Amenities: There is a huge swimming pool, gym and playground. The swimming pool is equipped with a few activities and for two days, there is even a cinema screening in the pool meaning u just sit in the tub and float in the pool while watching the movie..How cool..and of course u have to be in ure swimming attire. So to summarise, IF u want to relaxa and get away from the busy city area and u want excellent service and room, then this is where u should be staying. Should I come back and stay…hmmm hopefully…maybe… Anywaes a tip for those wishing to stay here is that if u want a late check out, u have to request upon checking in or it might be too late.

This was my first time staying at the Vacation Club, courtesy of a family friend. Our villa was beautiful, spacious (2 bed/2bath, huge kitchen and PRIVATE POOL). Need I repeat, PRIVATE POOL? This is one of the most beautiful places I've ever stayed at for a much-needed vacation with my family. Location: Very close to the airport in Phuket, but further away from 'town' and Patong Beach. However, I usually like to steer away from the bigger beaches, because inside I am an old Thai lady. As you cross over to the Anantara Villas, you can hit the beach, which is beautiful and quiet. It's also located within walking/shuttle distance of some other hotels if you want more variety in restaurants/bars. The JW Marriott and the Renaissance are close by. Food: Breakfast was good. Nice variety overall. The servers rushed us a bit - we sat down and they immediately brought the check before we even put anything in our mouths - but the variety is substantial. Pools: Both AVC and AV pools are lovely. I liked to swim laps in the Vacation Club pool and relax at the bar in the hotel pool. However, when we went to the Hotel pool, we were promptly told that we couldn't sit on the chairs at the pool because we were staying at the AVC. Now, I must say, that due to the collapse of the Russian economy, the hotel was completely deserted and there were very few people staying at the actual AV. So, it was empty, but we were rudely asked to sit on the chairs on the sand. Overall, this wasn't a huge deal, but it did color our experience a bit. Beach: Private, pristine, quiet and very relaxing. There could have been hotel-owned beach chairs, but it was easy enough to bring our towels down on our own.

Stayed here for 4d3n. Everything is perfect but just a bit far from town and Patong. It take an hour to reach Patong beach. We got to rent a car to Patong beach. Room is huge for 4persons. Our package including airport transfer. Staff here very kind and friendly. We got a pool suite room. The breakfast is nice and beverages and meal here with reasonable price with 5stars service. Happy hour from 4-6pm. So you can get buy 1 free 1 at the pool bar. Overall, I will say... It's great if you prefer a quiet place to relax and for family stay with kids. But if you like some happening and shopping.. The maybe this place won't suit you.
"Relaxing, glamorous, well appointed"

Recently stayed 3 nights. Seamless pickup from airport to Vacation Club, warm welcome on arrival, recognised as returning guests. We stayed in one of the new villas- WOW- exquisite furnishings and presentation, very well equipped, own plunge pool, nothing had been overlooked. The resort is well equipped- bikes, gym, large main pool, kids club, beautiful gardens and public areas. Cocktails by the pool make for a very pleasant way to fill in the tim, esp the two for one cocktails in the Happy Hours from 4pm to 6 pm. Room service imenu is comprehensive, quite reasonably priced and quite timely. The highlight of our stay was the Dining by Design where the barbecue was set up in our courtyard. So too was our table, chef and his team came in and cooked and served like we were in our personal restaurant- choice of seafood, meat or Thai. We went for seafood and had lobster, prawns, fish, salads, dessert- so lovely to be served such a beautiful meal and not have to worry about the cleaning up afterwards. Beautiful fresh produce. Thoroughly recommend the whole experience of the Vacation Club- everybody should do it at least once in their lifetime!
"Good Stay at Anantara Phuket"
01/27/15 Chee Seng L
The overall experience of staying at Anantara Vacation Club Phuket have been great, the staff are friendly, professional and the facilities are top notch. Mine was a free 5D/4N stay with a 90 minutes attendance for a Sales Presentation. I must say the sales staff was very professional and experienced, there was no pressure or force sale tactic to entice me to purchase the package unlike many other time-sharing sales pitch. The slight problem is the location of the hotel, it is close to the Phuket International Airport, approx 15 minutes up north, but quite far away from the ever popular Patong Beach, approx one hour drive down south or Phuket town. This will be a great vacation if you intend to stay and make full use of the hotel facilities, like the gym, pool, restaurants, etc. Right across is the self contained shopping mall, called the Turtle Mall, with decent shopping and variety of restaurants to cater for the different taste bud to make up for the distance to other amenities. I would recommend this resort to those who takes frequent trips abroad for holiday and last but not least who can afford it.
