Very typical, better than average British hotel. I took my mother for a couple of days and we each had a single room. The single rooms are probably not typical of the main double rooms, so I can't comment on the bigger rooms. The single rooms were very tiny, as my mother described "children's rooms". Very, very basic, with tiny bed and hardly room to turn around, bathroom with shower the same. Also I guess single rooms are the worst as they face the street which was somewhat noisy late at night and drafty (no double glazing). But overall it was clean and the staff very nice. Included breakfast is good as mentioned by everyone, and you don't have to stick to the menu, they will make whatever you want. The food in the bar is just that, bar food, rather oily roasted veg and soggy fries, nothing to right home about. (Go up the road to Cafe 54 for really good food). Bar staff very nice, let me sample beer before buying! Broadstairs in the winter is pretty dead, Dickens museum and Bleak House both closed, so 2 nights was plenty long enough, but it made a nice break for walks on the sandy deserted sandy beach.

Service was excellent as was the food. Convenient to Cathedral. Staff very helpful and friendly. Would recommend this hotel.

"You get what you pays for"
Near central Dover not far from the ports and other sights such as the White Cliffs and Castle can be reached form there with public transport. The rooms are basic (as expected), great for budget travel. Nothing in the hostel (not hotel) description lead me to expect more. If you expect a higher standard posh hotel then don't go here. I had a bit of […] a problem with the keypad combo to the room which the manager sorted out for me. Small bathroom, but heck it's an en suite. I don't have to use a common bathroom like some hostels or even many B&B's! Breakfast was OK, a simple continental sort, enough to get me going, A fry up was available for a added cost but I didn't bother with it. "Great value for money"
Hotel was v. clean, secure & staff were extremely helpful & courteous. Don't be put off by the outside of the building! We were also leaving v. early the following day & the owner prepared a quick/easy "do it yourself" breakfast for us even though it was before the official breakfast time.
