This is a traditional Japanese-style hotel room with traditional service. The room was fantastic and was the perfect size for two. We paid extra for a private bath on the balcony facing an amazing mountain with a creek below and waterfalls scattered throughout. Be prepared for traditional Japanese meals served in your room by an adorable, kimono-clad waitstaff. This place does not have many English speaking staff members, so it helps if you know some basic Japanese. However, if you don't know the language, it is still an incredible experience. Another thing to note is that this is ryokan is not in Hakone proper. You will need to take a train from Odawara Shinkansen station to Yugawara Station. After that it's about a 10 minute taxi ride to the hotel. While out-of-the-way, it was still a fantastic experience and we had a terrific time.

We can consider that its quite a good stay although disappointed that we were on the 3rd floor and there were no airconditioning. We were told to open... the window to let the night air in but it was raining and the wind was howling on top of the sound of the river that is infront of the hotel. When I told the front desk that I couldn't sleep cos it was stuffy they were nice as to find a table fan for us. Breakfast was so-so only. Very nice hotel located just a few steps from the Hakone Tozan Railroad (that's why we chose this hotel). The room was clean and confortable and staff was helpful. The Emperor and other famous people stayed there.

BIEN SITUE POUR UNE VISITE, en effet l'hôtel est bien situé prés de la gare point de départ pour le circuit touristique d' Hakone (le free pass est intéressant). Nous n'avons pas pris de repas à l'hôtel par contre nous avons choisi le petit déjeuner japonais ce qui fut une bonne chose dans le restaurant japonais de l'établissement.
