"Quiet location, and bunnies galore!"
Nice rooms with full kitchen, bedroom but television was difficult to operate for senior dummies! Parking lot was tight but it worked. It was an easy walk into town, and overall Inwould return if the rates were a bit less on a weekend. I liked the fact that you could check out as late as noon. Reception had cookies and coffee, and the owner/manager was real friendly. Our weather was great, felt like summer most of the time we were there. Everything seemed very well thought out and the kitchen was well stocked. Gas range was a little smelly, but worked well. coffee was supplied the whole time and was good quality. We will probably stay again, as my husband's former generation used to stay there in it's hey days!

"A lovely place"
What is nice about the Ecola Creek Lodge is that it is at the northern end of Cannon Beach...where not so many people visit. It is walking distance to the shore and can been seen from many windows. BUT traffic is a bit much on Saturdays. I plan my next stay to be Sunday-Tuesday, when it is very quiet.

The building and the gardens are very quaint and fitting for Cannon Beach. The hotel is also very close to the beach and easy walking distance from everything else. The room itself was a little generic, but clean and comfortable. We also had a great view.

"Great stay, great staff, great location."
Had a one room suite with living room and kitchen, which helps as I'm an early riser and my family not so early. Well stocked kitchen for cooking and eating. Beautiful older buidlings at the very entrance into town, so you're 2 blocks removed from the activity buzz the town can have. One block walk to the beach. Suoer friendly staff. Would stay here again everytime.

"So cute! Would reccommend to anyone."
We stayed one night and loved it. Even though the location is not right on the beach you can walk a few blocks into town or to the beach. We've never stayed at a non hotel chain and we were pleasantly surprised. It had a very homey quaint feeling to it with hot chocolate and fresh cookies in the lobby all day to our wonderful outdoor balcony that overlooked a beautiful garden. The staff were friendly and helpful, the room was small but fit our needs and was comfortable and most of all was clean! Loved this place and would stay again.

"Nice and Quiey"
Service was super, they where very polite and tended our needs. Facility was very clean and maintained. There was a full size coffee pot with microwave and standard hotel refrigerator. It was a few minutes walking distance to city center shops. There is no pool, that is ok.. the ocean is minutes away if you want to get your feet wet. The lodge is very pet friendly, please make sure you read their pet policy or call to ensure your room is available to have pets. The only problem we had was the Queen size memory foam mattress in our room, it needs updating.

"Wonderful place to stay in Cannon Beach!"
I loved everything about the Ecola Creek Lodge. My boyfriend and I were here for two days before making our way to Portland for the remainder of our vacation. We both agree this was by far our favorite part of our vacation. The rooms have recently been renovated and were very clean. We could see the ocean from our room and even if we hadn't, all the other views around were simply breathtaking. The staff were all very friendly and helpful. The walls seem very well insulated. The hotel itself is about a 7 to 10 minute walk to the main street with shops and restaurants, but we loved the location! Everything we wanted or needed to get to was within walking distance and we loved taking advantage of the view. Overall, we absolutely loved our stay at Ecola Creek Lodge and will return many many times! We highly recommend it.

The room was very clean. The beach is a very short walk and downtown was a pleasant 1/4 mile walk. The staff was very friendly. It wasn't very crowded when we were there so it was quiet but the property is maintained very well. We will be coming back.

"Great little hideaway"
Nice little place--out of the way but close to everything. Only possible issue was not television in bedroom--it is in the sitting room. I like to sleep with the tv on so this is probably not something someone else would have a problem with. Plan to stay again...maybe when it is not hailing or raining.

"A Wonderful Port in the Storm"
Great place--friendly, welcoming hosts, roomy, clean and comfortable accommodations, good bed. The owner was nice enough to upgrade us to a room with a fireplace at no extra charge. Good thing, too: a serious winter storm descended upon us our first night with winds gusting to 100 mph. The lodge held up well, but we lost power for most of the next day and downed trees and high water pretty much marooned us and kept us inside. But with the fireplace and the comfy room, not a bad place to read and nap through the day. Short walk into town after the storm blew over. Would like to return when Mother Nature wasn't so rough.

Friendly staff. Limited service available during day time office hours. We asked the front desk for restaurant ideas and they gave us a sheet that had a list of staff favourites - one for dinner and one for breakfast restaurants. We stayed in room 20. Nice room, corner suit. It was very windy and rainy. The rooms aren't very sound proof.

"Great location, great customer service -"
A great location only a 3-4 minute walk away to the beach. Lovely cosy rooms and friendly customer service. Walked into our room to be greeted with towel animals which was a nice touch. Bed was comfy but be aware that its an old guest house so the pipes can be a little noisy but is offset somewhat by being so close to the beach you can hear the sea.

Stayed in room 1. Nice large King studio with full kitchen and living room with fireplace... with the windows open, it was such a treat for this Florida gal to have a fireplace. Cozy. Really nice staff, good cookies, clean, comfy beds, pretty gardens, beach/town is an easy/pleasant walk. Affordable.

A very nice hotel in this beautiful little resort town about an hour's drive from Portland. Easy walking distance to town. Lovely grounds - will attach pix of the lovely pond. My room was modest but adequate. They've been renovating. Charles, the manager I met, was simply a great guy. Warm and personable. Recommend!

"Affordable option in CannonBeach"
07/05/15 afreil Nashville, Tennessee
Our discomfort at Ecola Creek Lodge was out of their control. I'm sure they are not accustomed to the high temperatures which we experienced while there. The Lodge does not have A/C. We were quite warm in the room, but thankfully spent very little time in it. There is an area with tables by a koi pond which was a nice place to sit in the morning with a cup of coffee. The Lodge is a short walk to the beach and the main part of town.

"Cosy lodging in Cannon Beach"
07/02/15 Rybas Krakow, Poland
The Lodge is well appointed and in good condition. We had our own entry to the suite. The whole is in a pretty garden to sit and write/talk/just sit around. Not very far from the beach. Excellent advice from staff on restaurants for both dinner and breakfast.

"Well appointed coastal location"
05/27/15 Jeffrey J Wayne, New Jersey
Positives: A charming, quaint, attractive, clean motel just seconds off US-101. The well maintained, small (20 rooms) property featured a nice central deck with tables & chairs. It's next to the Koi Pond with a small waterfall. As a bonus, there are some bunnies hanging around. Elk were also spotted across the street one morning. My second floor location was small, but neat and clean, and met my needs. The room contained a fridge, microwave, and coffee maker. The flat panel TV had more channels then a major-branded hotel just stayed at in Portland. No HD signal though, just Standard. No big deal, you're out at the beach anyway right? The bathroom was also very clean, and had a great hi-flow shower head. How refreshing. Parking was just steps away. There are only outdoor stairs, with no elevator. A bit tricky if wet. Even though my room had an ocean view from the deck, I'd recommend just staying on the lower level. The motel staff were very friendly. Negatives: None that come to mind. The only issues with my stay had nothing to do with the motel itself. May is the rainy season, and you take your chances. Mother nature did not disappoint me. My first afternoon was partly sunny. The second day a wash out. This factor did not deprive my photographic intentions though. Also, the town itself was dead. That means no crowds or traffic, so it was alright. Gorgeous coast scenery, and wonderful wooded trails are just minutes away (Ecola State Park). Speaking of the town, The Ecola Lodge is at the extreme north end of Cannon Beach. Even with that location, shopping and restaurants are within walking distance. Haystack Rock requires a car, or much longer hike. You can easily walk to beach from the motel. I did it. In the dark. A bit scary, but fun. This is a very nice place for your stay in Cannon Beach. Please consider it.

"New England style lodge with North-West Coast hospitality."
05/19/15 Jmlewis12
We planned to stay 2 days, however, ended up staying 6! We stayed in 4 different rooms, and room #2 was our favorite. This room came equipped with a kitchen. All the rooms we stayed in (except #11) had a fireplace. The lodge is near the Ecola State Park, and within a block from the beach. The staff was very nice and helpful. The rooms were clean, quaint, with a New England ambiance. There were bunnies on the premise (still not sure if they were wild because they were so friendly and well- kept), you could see them bouncing around with their babies. Wild elk were seen grazing in the grasses across the street. We can't say enough positive words about this lovely place.

"Quiet lodge adjacent to Ecola State Park"
05/18/15 John P Phoenix, Arizona
First stayed here over 25 years ago, when it was the only place in Cannon Beach where we could find a place to stay without having booked a reservation. We ended up staying 5 nights - even our school aged children loved it at the time. Fast forward 25 years to 2015. We were passing through Cannon Beach on our way to meet friends the next day in Astoria, so we thought we should try what worked last time - and we were right. Once again, we were fortunate to find an opening at ECL, which had not lost any of its charm. Of course, we had to visit the Ecola state park and Indian Beach again which brought back many good memories. It was another enjoyable stay at ECL and we highly recommend this a base for a visit to Cannon Beach and the surrounding area.

I checked before I booked on Trip Advisor and had a great stay. Very clean, wonderful grounds, seemed like I was in a small hotel lodge in the U K countryside. Internet was great and fast, bed comfortable, fireplace in the room and pretty grounds was great and peaceful environment. Within walking distance of all of the city center and to the beach. Wonderful stay and my girlfriend and I were really pleased with competitive priced accommodations and the peacefulness of the surroundings . Thumbs up!

"Lovely little area off the beaten path"
04/08/15 HeTj Wichita, Kansas
We decided to head south out after spending a few days on business in Seattle, to leisurely drive down the Washington and northern Oregon coast. We did not have reservations anywhere as this being our first time in the area, we wanted to have the flexibility to start and stop whenever we felt like it. When we hit the Cannon Beach area, we knew we wanted to stop, stay, and play for a bit. It was early-March and we figured we'd find a decent place at a decent price and we did just that at the Ecola Creek Lodge. It was at the north end of Cannon Beach, within walking distance to the shops, restaurants, and beach. We got a One Bedroom Suite with a queen bed in the bedroom area and a queen sofa bed in the other "main" room. There was a small table with 2 chairs in the main room for dining; no kitchen but a microwave, coffee maker, and a small refrigerator were included. The ONLY complaint was the walls were super thin in that we could hear the folks in the next room, and even heard someone snoring quite loudly at night when we were in the bedroom!!! The grounds were meticulously manicured and there were these exceptionally large, almost tame, bunnies all over the place. The desk clerk was pleasant and suggested eateries in the area (all within walking distance.) If we are ever in the area again, we would most certainly stay at the Ecola Creek Lodge but would bring our earplugs in case a heavy snorer would be in the next room!
