"Great location, spacious"
Right around the corner from Plaza Mayor. Restaurant downstairs (we do not recommend eating there). Room was spacious with big windows that opened up to a view of the bell tower next door. Wifi connection was spotty but overall good value.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
There was no reception desk so was difficult to seek assistance. No English speaking staff made it difficult for us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great budget room"
Overall, no complaints. It gets you a clean room in a great central location. You will hear some hallway noise when people enter/exit their rooms, but that's about it.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hotel did not honour the booking"
I booked a triple room, when I arrived the hotel did not have a triple room available and could only make a double room avalable. As it happens Id stayed in that same double room the night beofre. I was charged twenty euro more. Downright dishonest.

Stayed just one night. Given the budget, cant be happier. Spacious clean room with a great view (102) , perfect bathroom. Unique is the Tapas bar. Five tapas and five glases of reasonable vine for 10 € - that unbeatable. Even parking was not expensive. Service was really helpfull. Just work on English or German, well, not everybody speaks Espanol. Wi - Fi of quality for free, of course. They beat majority of 3*, really.
"Great value - perfect for fleeting tourist visit."

I have just returned from staying in this lovely little hotel. The staff were incredibly friendly, even serving us when they were shut for the evening, making sure we had everything we need and letting us in to dump our bags early in the day. We only stayed one night for a little break. The room was simple but you would not need any more! All very clean and, even though it is right next to the plaza, quite peaceful! The best thing was we never got lost as we always ended up outside our hotel! Totally ideal for a short trip to Salamanca. It is not luxury accommodation but as a couple to see the sights for a few days it was excellent and suited our needs perfectly. I will be recommending.

Seen the rate of the rooms at this location in town, it is certainly the best you can get. Friendly staff and very helpful. The garage is hard to find; if you make a false turn on the way towards it, it will be hard to get on the right track again. A lot of one way streets. Anyway, the room was tidy and big enough if you only use it for slepping. The only disadvantage was the street being cleaned around 03:00 in the morning with noisy machines.
"excellent location, not a hotel but a hostel"

excellent location, really thin walls (you can partake in your neighbours' conversation), staff can't speak a single english (or other than spanish) word. no hotel, but a hostel ("boutique hostel" they call themselves).

Great location, just off Plaza Mayor. Room facilities good, albeit creaky bed. Staff very friendly and helpful. Convenient, good value bar for breakfasts, snacks and drinks. Excellent value for such a prime location.

Enjoyed four nights at this delightful hotel this past October on our spain trip. Spacious and clean rooms, excellent location just in front if Plaza Mayor in the city centre. Had great coffee in the little cozy lounge in the ground floor. Would recommend it to any who wish to visit Salamanca.

Turned up on spec, needed a room for three nights, offered one at the back. My better half then asked for one with a view; available for two nights, then we'd have to move for the third night. Glad we accepted the move - the first room had a perfect view of the street below, the church opposite, and the storks. Standing on our balcony we could see into Plaza Mayor. Great room, good bathroom, air-con, plenty cafes within ten feet for breakfast, English-speaking receptionist, very helpful. One small complaint - he didn't make it clear that the rate he quoted for parking was per night, not per stay, so a bit of a shock when the bill came, but he discounted it when we questioned the price. If booking ahead, ask for a room at the front - we had no. 25. By the way, not the cheapest, but magnificent situation.
"Ornithology in Salamanca"

If you love bird-watching, Hotel San Juan is the place for you! At first we were disappointed because our fourth floor room had no street view, but once we discovered the enormous stork nest on the top of the bell tower right in front of our window, we spent a lot of time in observing these wonderful birds. The very kind Hotel Staff told us the nest has been reduced by the Salamanca municipality as it was too heavy for the tower, and several layers have been replaced by lighter plastic material, leaving the real stork’s nest on the top in order to have the nest recognized by its owners.

I stayed at Hotel Don Juan on Easter Thursday and Friday. The hotel was ideally suted for watching the grand Easter parades for which Salamanca is famous, being centrally located beside the Plaza Mayor. Indeed, the parades went past outside the door of the hotel! The staff were great and the hotel serves some of the best tapas in Salamanca. The downside was the single room, which smelt stongly of tobacco smoke, and the shower leaked on to the bathroom floor. All in all, a positive experience and I would stay there again if I could get a different room.
"Feel Like Family at Salamanca's Hotel Don Juan"

My friend, Karen, was lucky enough to have been on sabbatical in Salamanca for several weeks and I was lucky enough to have been able to join her there for one of those weeks. She found the Hotel Don Juan by accident. She was dissatisfied with the first hotel she had booked and just wandered into the Hotel Don Juan where they let her view a room before she booked. She was more than pleased with the room which was much larger than the unsatisfactory one and for a lower price. I found this hotel completely charming. The staff couldn’t have been friendlier or more accommodating, always greeting me with a smile and an “Hola!” Several of the staff spoke English and the ones who didn’t were eager to finds ways to communicate. I was both lucky and unlucky enough to have had a room facing the street: Lucky because of the lovely view of the Iglesia de San Martin, one of the oldest churches in the city, and unlucky because the noise from the neighboring Plaza Mayor made it difficult to sleep. Oh, well, why sleep when you are on vacation? That can be done at home! The Hotel Don Juan is a family-run small business which seems eager to make guests feel like part of the family.
