"best hostel ever!"

i've stayed in some pretty nice hostels in my time but I can honestly say if you are considering a trip to Madrid, pick this hostel. It was perfect location for a short work into the shopping area and very close to Masalana and Tribunal area if you want to go out at night. Rooms were immaculate. we really enjoyed chilling in the cinema room and the swings. Great/ cheap mojitos in the bar downstairs. staff were lovely and friendly. plus you get a free breakfast which unfortunately I slept in for every day. if I return to Madrid I will definitely stay here again.
Really great place and in a good location. Just over Malasania; best place to go out in Madrid. Huge common area, for dining, chatting and meeting people with several activities. All in perfect conditions. Rooms and bathrooms are clean and tidy. Really kind and helpful staff, specially Natalia!! Such a lovely girl. Don't think you can get any better than this at such a reasonable price.

U Hostel is the place to stay while im Madrid. After my third successful visit to this hostel, I won't choose another accommodation. I recommend you don't either. With comfortable beds, great staff, and am upbeat atmosphere you can't go wrong with this hostel.

Probably one of the best hostels in Madrid, it is really well-located (5 mins walk from the nearest metro) and is easy to find. The staff are really helpful and speak very good English. They also provide a free breakfast (it's not a full breakfast, but its not bad. at least you don't leave for sight-seeing on an empty stomach!). There is also a pretty nice bar and restaurant, and they organize events regularly. The hostel really cheap, and they have no hidden costs! The baths, toilets and rooms are sparkling clean and very modern. Even many older travelers on a budget stay at this hostel. I would definitely recommend this place for a stay in Madrid.
"No heating in the rooms"

I thought the hostel was ok in general but my room had no heating and it was really cold., when I came home I was sick because of that. Madrid is not a really cold city but in the week I was there it even snowed and it's not ok to be in a room without heating when snowing. The cleaning was ok, but when people leave they are suposed to put their towels in the reception but the people that left my room didn't so their towels just stood there on the floor for days.. :/ The ladies from the reception weren't very nice or helpful..

Stayed with friends for a long weekend in this lovely hostel and enjoyed our stay there! They have really good activities for guests who are new to the city. We went on the free walking tour which saved us money that we could have spent going around the city with our Dies Viajes. It also enabled us to walk freely by ourselves, since our tour guide Harriet was really good at directing us. The low-cost flamenco on Sunday night was also a blast since research showed that a flamenco show on a tablao would have set us back around 70 Euros each and it even came with a free glass of Sangria. Breakfast was pretty basic of toast and a drink but that's what you get in a hostel, although there are hot options for a few extra euros that won't exactly break the bank. Also, there's a kitchen in the back room of the dining area so anyone can bring their own food and heat up or make their own food. The shower area was pretty impressive, there's no problem with crowding even though there were a few of us on the floor and we had our own bathroom in the room. It's convenient for people in groups especially if the one in your room is occupied, you could easily pop down to the hallway to use the communal one which is kept pretty clean anyway. Plus, this way, you get to make new friends. (It's not as creepy as it sounds) Only complaint I have is the heating. The heating comes from this vent in the ceiling so the guys staying on the top bunk mostly got the heat while we were feeling pretty cold on the bottom bunk, especially when you get out of bed first thing in the morning. Also, there were a few times when we went out and came back to find our room unlocked. I'm assuming it was the cleaning crew that went in there, but still! It's safer to not leave any important belongings unguarded or just put it in the locker provided. All in all, we loved our stay here. It's reasonably priced for a centre location and there's a swing set in the hallway and computers for everyone to use and a big theatre room near the reception. Pretty cool. The hostel is very warm and accommodating! Would recommend to people on a budget to stay here.

This is a very nice hostel, the price isa reasonable. Staff is very friendly, rooms are very nice and clean and also all the common areas we're really nicely designed. They also have hostel events everyday with other hostels in the area.

This was a very nice hostel and at a reasonable price. I stayed here while I was looking for an apartment and everyone was super friendly and helpful. They were excited to see me use my Spanish and they knew my name after just one time talking to them. They are very personal. They also had hostel events everyday with other hostels in the area. Those were a lot of fun too. I did the walking tour and the pub crawl. Yes, it is possible to stay out until 6:00 am and not get tired. I met a lot of fun people through the events and I would recommend doing them.
"The best and nicest hostel I've ever stayed at!"
Staff is super friendly, rooms are very cozy and clean and also all the common areas we're really nicely designed. You can't find better than this! The only negative detail was that there was quite a lot of noise of traffic since it's located on a big street, but with earblugs I slept like a baby on their super comfortable mattress.
