"Okay hostel- nothing fancy"

The directions from the metro were a bit hard to follow. The staff was nice and friendly, but they were quick to help you and then on to the next person. The rooms weren't bad, although I doubt that they cleaned the blankets. The shared bathrooms were mainly clean, but there were more means toilets than there were women's toilets. Location was good. Easy to get to the metro, and unless you're up for a long walk, I would say metro is your best bet. The rooms facing the street were very noisy, but you had to leave the windows open for the air. If possible, I would ask for a room not facing the street. One thing I disliked is that the front door is always open and they don't pay attention to who is coming and going.

I had hard time finding out the location of this backpacker but it was worth it. I was looking for a place for quality time which I found pretty much there. The staff is really sympathetic (Erika, you are just awesome!!!), place is clean, tons of rooms except maybe for the kitchen and quite well located. Altogether, really appreciated when I was there!
"Best hostel I've stayed!"

Has day tours and night events with free drinks and pub crawl almost every night, so even traveling by yourself you won't be alone. Staff is extremely friendly an helpful, with perfect Spanish, English and even French. I stayed at the shared room for 8 women (there are a lot of rooms only for girls, so an entire floor is only for girls) The bed was comfortable and the locker had a decent size. There's a communal bathroom for each floor, clean and organized, nice showers as well! I liked everything at the hotel, specially for a girl travelling by herself, having a floor just with women makes you feel more comfortable. It's not exactly the best location, but it was still a walking distance from the main attractions.

The hostel was extremely clean and in a great location. Our room was nice, but the bunk beds weren't the best (metal frames so when someone would move, the entire bed would shake and make noise). We also had a nice balcony, but it was connected to the room next doors', which meant if we forgot to lock our window our neighbours had complete access to our room... There was a communal bathroom for the floor that was big and clean, but also pretty confusing... There were showers and bathrooms that were designated for men and women, but there was a lack of bathrooms so often times dudes were dropping dookie's in the lady's room and vice-versa. Other than that, the hostel had a huge common room, 2 bars that were good (Uncle Bijan put on a great karaoke show "MADRIIIIIID I WANT TO SEE YOUR HAAAAANDDDDS"). They also offer a free breakfast that wasn't very good (do not buy their churros, they're terrible). And finally, a shout out to the man himself, Roberto Carlos (RC). UHostels needs to PAY THE MAN! He ensured that we were always having a great time. Provided us with a lot of information on what to do/where to go in Madrid. We did the free walking tour during the day and he made sure that everybody had water, he also made sure we went on the pub-crawl. The man did literally everything he could to make sure that our stay in Madrid was dope. Again, UHostels, you have ONE job. PAY THE MAN!

I stayed here for only two nights with a friend, we rented a private double room with bathroom for 60€ per night which was very reasonable. The staff at reception were very helpful, they stored our luggage early in the day as we arrived long before check-in and wanted to explore. There is a common area that is very conducive to meeting people, always lots of card games which usually turn into drinking games later at night - this makes it a fun place to stay if you want to be a bit more social. We went on the pub crawl offered by the hostel which was fun to do, but for the price of 12€ you get 3-4 shots (1 at each location) so you typically have to buy most of your own drinks. They also should be a bit better with working out logistics for the weekend crowd, once joined by a few other hostel pub crawls there were 70+ people moving about in a group, we couldn't even fit in all at once to two of the places we were taken to. Not too bad as pub crawls go though, and it's nice if you're unfamiliar with the city and don't know where to go. The free walking tour was fantastic! I had Harriet as a guide and she was great, very enthusiastic and fun to listen to. The location is great, quiet enough with some good restaurants in the area and a short walk from a metro station.
"the best hostel!"

Sure the best hostel I've ever been to. Nice rooms, everything was new. Well ventilated. Bathrooms, tough shared, were always clean! Very friendly staff and the cozy commom spaces made it easy to meet other guests and make some friends =) very good location, near the metro station. there are a lot of good pubs around it too, but the hostel itself is in a quiet region.

This was by far one of the best hostels I have stayed at. A fantastic quirky and trendy feel this hostel has it all. computer access on each level and a bar downstairs were you can have a cheeky cocktail or ten. The room itself was great we upgraded to the private bathroom for only the two of us and we had a fantastic balcony which over looked the street.

located between two subway lines which was extremely convenient. Very clean, good happy hour at the bar, individual lockers for your belongings, and loose bunk beds (one person moves, every person in the room hears it). The AC is controlled by the Hostel, so it is extremely toasty and moist during the day and ice cold at night, uHostel, you gonna figure this out errrr..... the hostel had public bathrooms with designated women and mens toilets/showers. However, don't be alarmed if you see someone of the opposite sex walk out of your stall. When in Rome, right? They offer a free breakfast with upgrades (1euro for crappy churos, do yourself a favour and don't buy them, 1.50euro for meat/cheese etc). Balconies are shared between your room and your neighbours. if you leave your balcony doors open, your neighbours have access to your room, be careful to lock up on your way out! Finally, this is a message directed at uHostel. Roberto Carlos (RC) demands a raise. Without him, our stay in Madrid would have been junk. RC gave us tips on what to see in our short time in this beautiful city. He was a great leader taking us to the walking tour and made sure we were prepared with water. He was genuinely concerned about our plans for the evening and recommended the pubcrawl. We were excited to party with him that night, I'm sure he's not getting any kickbacks but he sold the crap out of the pubcrawl bringing in revenue for your hostel (a group of 5 guys). We were very upset when he didn't come on the pubcrawl with us due to some internal beef between him and your company. PAY THE MAN, he did more work then all of your other staff members combined.
"One of the best hostel's on trip"

Spacious, clean hostel with good facilities. Comfy beds with lights and individual power points. Plenty of activities offered too, free walking tour is a must. Breakfast not the best but included in reasonable price so can't complain!
"One of the best."

I have been travelling around Europe for three months and this has to be the best hostel I have stayed in. It shows that you can get a good experience for a cheap price. The rooms and bathrooms were cleaned daily and there was enough showers to cater for everyone. The communal areas were great and there was also a cinema room to watch movies in English. The breakfast was basic, but it was free. The kitchen was a bit small, however it was enough to put together a quick meal. It was a bit of a walk to the city centre (maybe 20mins) but there is public transport close to the hostel. My boyfriend and I happily did the walk each day.
