public toilet and shower Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Okay for a night"

We traveled to Thailand for our honeymoon, flying into Bangkok quite late at night. We stayed here for about two nights. We immediately saw a lizard as soon as we walked into our honeymoon suite, I understand that is the nature of tropical areas but it was still startling. The bathroom was very difficult to use because of the old school tub. There was a sign that said that they could call a cab for the guests to the airport..however when we asked..they couldn't. For no explicable reason. I would say only stay here if you are familiar with the country and are okay with being on your own. The people were friendly, even though we could not really communicate. But that was still a plus.
"Average room with a good view, decent service and a good location for a short stay."

We stayed here for two nights upon arriving in Bangkok. We stayed in the Grand Room which had a nice view of Democracy Monument. The room itself was fine, nothing spectacular. It was pretty clean, AC worked well, and had a nice view. The hotel itself was so-so. Smelled of food most of the time; getting to the room is a bit of a hike through the restaurant, the kitchen, and then up an elevator. The staff was friendly but spoke only Thai. i can't fault them for this, after all I am in their country, however, it did make communication a little difficult at times. Also, they could not call us a taxi, which was an annoyance. The location is great for visiting the temples in the area. Bottom line: it's fine if you are on a budget or don't mind some level of inconvenience and you want to be near the temples.
"Great hotel for travelers on budget"

+ Tidy, clean, bright hotel with 'un petit café' above + Extremely nice staff + Square view (Democracy Square) + One block away from Khaosan road + There's a bus stop just across the street near McDonald's goes straight to the city center. (standard bus no. 15 & 47 for ฿6.50/person or air-con bus no. 79 for ฿13/p). + There are 2 small local restaurants with pretty good food. (Turn left at the hotel's gate and go straight along Dinso Road for about 5 mins and you'll see a big government building. The restaurants are in the opposite side of this building and couple houses away from each other with sign written in Thai.) One restaurant's got a kinda more diversified menu with common Thai dishes while the other focuses on steamed duck. Both were cheap to me. + If you decide to take a taxi from Khaosan to the city centre, it probably will cost you ฿160 - ฿200 (by meter). + Going by taxi from the city centre to Suvarnabhumi airport will be around ฿250 (always go by meter).
"Great place to stay"

I stayed here for three nights total, my first two in Thailand and then my last. The rooms are small with a comfortable bed, A/C, a nightstand which comes complete with a bottle of water daily. The shared bathrooms are super clean and I never actually saw another person in there. The food is excellent, it is in walking distance to many sights as well as public transportation. The staff are very friendly and helpful. Even though it is in a great, central location it is really quiet. On my last day my flight left at midnight so they let me eave my things there all day and let me take a shower before I departed on my long journey home. Excellent place!

Walked past a few times and always thought it looked really sweet and nice. Finally had dinner here and am shocked that this is not classed as a stand alone restaurant! Food and service were amazing! Cheapest price and best quality around khao san and away from the noise and busy tourists! Great selection of thai and western food and fresh deserts and shakes! Will definitely be coming back again!
"Good enough to be a standalone restaurant."

So we were literally just in the neighbourhood and looking for something inexpensive and Thai to eat... Something a step up from street food (not that there's anything wrong with that... there's only so much crunchy cricket you can eat, after all. So here, within sight of the Democracy Monument, we had a look at the menu and decided to give it a try. Great choice. The drinks were a great starter... not too sweet, nicely tart (which is a bit hard to find in Thailand), and large. The Thai dishes were tasty and reasonable priced at 80 baht. I can recommend the deep fried seafood salad, if you can handle the spice. There are also some western dishes if your have kids who are a bit "Thaied out". The spring rolls were nice too. In short this was just the kind of meal we are looking for, about 600 Baht for three with shakes all around. Very happy we found it. (It was only after we'd finished our meal that we discovered that it was attached to the hotel.)
"Went for breakfast but it was so good"
08/31/14 William T Bangkok, Thailand
I did not stay here but took a friend here for breakfast as it looked like a nice place to enjoy a weekend breakfast. My rating probably has more to do with the server than with the place itself. First off we were handed the lunch and dinner menu and had to ask for the breakfast menu. Next the coffee was instant coffee - a disappointment. The toast was very nice bread but came long before the eggs. The watermelon was cut with a knife that had been used to slice onions. So, the watermelon tasted of onions. Bacon was ordered but we were served sausage. I would go back but probably not for breakfast. But I saw they there served some very appetizing looking salads. So, I will give Baan Dinso a second chance. The decor and atmosphere is nice and the location good. While the service may not have been professional, they were certainly friendly and courteous.
The owner was the friendliest hotelowner i met on my trip. I broke my leg and stayed here three weeks waiting for my returnflight. The hotel wasn't very good for a person with a broken knee but the owner did her best to help me and make my life as easy as possible. I recommend this hotel very strongly
"Had a great time here!"

I stayed at Baan Dinso for one night and it was wonderful. I booked GRAND room which is on the 4th floor of the building. Democracy view is to die for........I love every minute in this room. Not to mention complimentary minibar and free wifi. Bathroom is big with huge bathtub. One little problem is that I had requested body gel for several times. And I didn't get it until I had to find on-floor staff to fill it. Anyway, I really like the decoration and everything else in the building. Breakfast: Guest has to go to the original Baan Dinso which is only 5 mins walk. They offer Thai and Western style. It was good. Too many good things I like about this place......and you can see it for yourself. ...or see my pics from my cell phone :)
"Great value for money"
04/24/14 raeraedj Manila, Philippines
Booked a single room (with shared bathroom) during Songkran through Agoda. For the cheap price, it provides great value for money. The room was just the right size for one person, but it's clean and even has a TV. Wifi in the room was also very fast. I did not mind the shared bathroom set-up because the showers/toilets are nice and clean too. Staff was very patient with my questions and even provided a map. I also had some good meals at their restaurant. Nice breakfast in their sister hotel too. The road in front (with the Democracy Monument) could just get quite noisy sometimes (but hey it's BKK haha). Location wise, it's relatively close to the major temples/Grand Palace and very near Khao San Road. Note that the area is not near any train stations though (Hualamphong is about a 50-60THB metered taxi ride away). Overall, a great stay!
