Clean and comfortable but with some problems. First of all, I thought I booked a room at the Baan Dinso on a quiet side street of of Dinso Road. Instead, we had a room at the new Baan Dinso right on the noisy Democracy Monument Circle. Secondly, the lobby is in the basement and the elevator starts on the second floor. Therefore, you have to carry your […] luggage up (and down) four flights of stairs between the lobby and the second floor. Thirdly, we stayed 4 nights and never had hot water even though someone came to check it out on the second day. Fortunately, it was hot and humid so a cold shower felt OK. Good points: great location, hotel is cute and very quiet. OK: breakfast is simple and a bit boring, but nice. Bad: hotel is very expensive for the service we got, rooms and bathrooms are VERY small!!! Although we booked a triple room, we got a double room and got charged an extra 900 bhats x night (24Euro) for an "extrabed" which ended up being a very […] thin mattress in the floor of an already cramped room (total charge 3500 bats x night, nearly 100 Euro, just not worth it). Also, staff hardly speaks any English and can be difficult, I had to ask things over and over. Room is not made up everyday, we had to demand this. Overall, I would not stay here again for that price, I would if it was half of that.m Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Genuine Expedia guest review

"Top marks for honesty !"

I can't praise this tiny, beautiful hotel enough ! It is an old restored house with wooden floors, super clean and suffused with a gentle energy. I am a frequent traveler and I travel often to Bangkok particularly. Typically I would stay in a 4 or 5 star hotel that offered promotions. But this one time I chose Baan Dinso to experience the local and more authentic feel. And I did. One day I wasn't feeling well and they made me a soup with carrots afloat ,cut like little flowers ... What was the highlight was this... I lost a earring just as I was departing. I had opened my suitcase in the lobby. When I called the hotel after I returned to India , I was given the good news that it was found. My heavy gold earring set with 27 small diamonds was restored to me by this wonderful hotel with its honest and courteous staff ! Thank you Mam ( the owner ) and Bee !
"Nice staff, clean hotel but room very small"
I book hotel from agoda because good price and 8.4 rate from customers. The picture shows in agoda look so good. But when received room it is very small with a single bed. However, room clean and Staff was so nice, good location to get around.
"The nicest place to stay in the whole of Bangkok"

I can not say enough about this place. For starters, the staff - and especially the owner, are the nicest, kindest people you could ever hope to meet. As soon as you walk in, you feel a sense of tranquility, relaxation - and you know you will have a wonderfully peaceful time here, away from the craziness of Bangkok. What an amazing, magical retreat. Clean, great breakfast, wonderful decor, fantastic staff and authentic. It's the only place i will stay in Bangkok, i have been numerous times and always recommend it highly to anybody visiting. Thankyou, Baan Dinso, you are amazing.
"Your place to stay in Bangkok!"

I've never been to a hostel so unique, and yet so wonderful...the moment you step inside, you'll feel welcomed! Stayed in the dorms room and they're like no other...such care in the organization and cleaning of every room in the hostel. And the breakfast is fantastic! Localization is another strong point...very easy to move from there to anywhere in the city. Kao San Road is just a 10 min walk from the hostel! If you're a hostel addicted like me, you must go! If you're not, you must go too!! Truly amazing!
"Clean and Good location"

We have visited Baan Dinso again, as it is very conveniently situated, close to Wat Po and near one of the canals linking up with the shopping areas. As usual the rooms were clean and the staff is friendly. The American breakfast is a feast with all the interesting items to eat. There is one thing that bother me is that the staff have very little knowledge of some of the basic attractions nearby and about the public transport. A bit to laid back?? But still a nice place to visit.
"clean place with lovely staff"

small ,clean and tidy place. Traditional style building with wood floor. Staff are friendly and nice. Location is in the city and near Khaosan Road market, but a bit far from MRT. Also can try the local bus system and a bus stop is just outside of the hotel. Must stay and enjoy it.
"Beautiful Hostel for a couple nights in Bangkok"

Baan Dinso is located near the Democracy Memorial and the Wat Suthat with its Giant Swing. It's about a 10min walk to Khaosan Road, which makes it's location pretty central. It's quiet and quaint and absolutely beautiful. My favourite part were the shared bathrooms with the cute sinks and little details. I got free breakfast, which was ok although the eggs tasted a little off. I was traveling alone and did not feel that this was the best place to meet other people, better alternatives would have been directly on Khaosan Road, which is backpacker central and where I ended up spending a lof of my short time in Bangkok. The staff at Baan Dinso spoke very little English but were still helpful and attended to any needs I had. My room was equipped with aircon, which is absolutely vital in Bangkok. There is a fridge and a free 'mini bar', which consists of a couple of snacks and water, as well as tea & coffee.
"Excellent location for visitors to Bangkok"

We have found through booking.com this pleasant hotel, In Munic we had no idea exactly where this accommodation was located. A big surprise was this central location close to major attractions. We found us in a house with a background of beautiful traditional style and and friendly welcome. We will come back!
"Some positives, some negatives"
06/02/14 Munchkin8it London, United Kingdom
I booked Baan Dinso through Booking.com, it wasn't the cheapest room around but still only about $40 per night, I didn't want to stay in a hostel dorm room so it was a good alternative. I arrived very late and the taxi driver thankfully was kind and took me right up to the door. The house itself is very cute with some nice decorations. My room 201 was tiny! A small single bed, 3 coat hangers and not much else. However it felt safe and was clean. On my first morning I asked receptionist for directions to the temples, it was a painful experience as she spoke minimal English. The hotel is situated down a back-alley and there is very little to help you navigate to anywhere. Not a good start for my first solo-trip abroad. I did eventually get my bearings and actually the location of the hotel is pretty good. 5 minutes to Koh San Road and 10 minutes to the reclining budha and other temples. Breakfast was a choice of Thai or American style. I was unimpressed with either and they were tiny portions. They offer no lunch or dinner or drinks, so if you want anything you have to go back out onto the main road to the 7Eleven. The biggest positive was that they let me leave my luggage with them for 3 weeks while I was travelling in Vietnam. Totally free of charge. Very sweet and I had no hesitation leaving it there in a secure room downstairs. Overall I would recommend Baan Dinso, just be aware of what you get for your money. It is not a luxury hotel, but rather like staying with a young slightly disorganised family!
"Most adorable place ever"
04/28/14 Inesje Amsterdam, The Netherlands
Absolutely beautifully decorated, clean, nice breakfast (at their lovely terrace). Also at a great location (about 10 min walk to Ko San Road). I could think of only 1 negative, and that's that the staff's English could be better. At another hostel the receptionist could give me better tips about excursions and such, because his English was better. But the staff was very nice though. I would recommend this cute, lovely hostel to anyone!
