"Great apartment, but a HUGE hassle to check-in."
When we arrived in BCN we went to the address of the hotel on the booking confirmation. Were unable to find "Gothic Suites BCN" We asked people in the area & they never heard of it. Finally turned on our phone (international rates!) to call the office. They were confused and said we had to call someone else to find out where to meet them, so they could […] take us to the apartment. Seemed weird, and I asked if we could come to the main office to meet them. Were told no, we had to call this guy. Had to make a 2nd international call on our cell. Were directed to meet at the fountain at Placa Real. We did and were approached by a guy who said he was there to take us to the apartment. It was all a bit unusual & nerve raking, as well as frustrating since we'd been traveling all day & were tired. None of that info, meeting point etc. was in the confirmation e-mail. The gentleman who checked us in, was very rude, rushed, & wouldn't listen to any of our issues we had. We also had to pay an additional 50 euro "cleaning FEE" which was odd, since it said cleaning DEPOSIT on the website, so we were under the impression if we left the apartment clean, we would get that back. The apartment itself is EXCELLENT and in an awesome location right next to La RamSbla. Loads of great food & things nearby. If the check-in process wasn't so confusing, frustrating, and costly (due to cell bill), it'd be pretty much 5's across the board. Great apartment, in a great location otherwise.

"Good- but not for a quiet stay"
First of all READ THE EMAIL YOU RECEIVE AFTER BOOKING. These are suites and not an hotel, which means they dont have a front desk and you have to pre-arrange someone from their team handing you the keys. There is an additional 50€ cleaning fee and a 150€ security deposit that you have to leave AFTER the keys are given to you. The apartments are in neat conditio and totally renovated, nothing to complain about that. There is a dishwashing machine and a clothewashing machine, a fridge, a microwave and a TV. The wi-fi signal kept dropping and was very bad. The location is both excellent and bad: it is 2 steps away from Plaza Real and La Rambla, which makes it prime, however the entrance to the apartment complex is located in a sketchy alleway. My mom and my sister got harassed when arriving one night, and it also makes the rooms NOISY (we heard a girl screaming for help, a man being arretested, and a drug dealing transaction happening in one night. They really would make an investment soundproofing the windows. Anyhow for the price, location and the places themselves it didnt get ANY better right in the middle of Barcelona, so I recommend it!
"Enjoyed our stay in Barcelona"

I booked this apartment directly online. I was promised a free bottle of Cava, I did not receive it. This aside we really enjoyed our stay here! When they say it is close to Plaza Real and “2 minutes from the famous Las Ramblas” they are not exaggerating! The apartment is in a quiet laneway, OK so the entrance door was covered in graffiti and looked a little scary, but the apartment felt safe and secure, and it was right in the heart of the old city. The windows had metal shutters on them and we always left them locked when we were out. The apartment did smell of cigarette smoke. I’m not sure if it was from past gusts or coming from the air conditioning system, but we struggled to get rid of it. So that was a little annoying. When we arrived there were certain “essentials” missing from the kitchen…only two bowls, no wine glasses and no coffee maker. I’m not one to complain to management, but after we bumped into the manager the next morning we mentioned these things, and upon return to the apartment we found brand new bowl, wine glasses and coffee maker for us to use, perfect! The full sized fridge was great and the open plan kitchen meals area was great. The Wi Fi was flaky and dropped in and out, and there was very little mobile reception in the apartment. One of the reasons we chose this apartment was the swimming pool. But in the five nights we were there we didn’t use it! Doh! There was a little supermarket with all the essentials (including wine!) just across the lane way, it even stocked fresh milk, something we struggled at times to find in Spain. There were many restaurants around, especially around Plaza Real, which was very popular with diners. One other annoying and unexpected thing, the bed in the main bedroom was in fact two singles...bugger! We caught the Metro from the airport to the apartment and it took a lot longer than anticipated. It was our worst Metro experience, and took twice as long as I would have thought. It was a long way to get from the terminal to the station, a long walk to change lines, and a just a little bit harder and more confusing than it needed to be. So much so that we took a taxi back to the airport when we left to save time, stress and lifting heavy bags! Having said all this, the apartment is walking distance to many attractions so we didn’t use the Metro much during our stay. Overall a great stay, a great apartment, with everything we needed. Look out for my review of the Barcelona Cooking School, in walking distance to the apartment and a must for all foodies!
"Gothic Suites BCN- 6/1/13-6/14/13"

We arrived in Barcelona on June 1,2013 and were met on time at Placa Reial to receives our keys and shown to our apartment. We had a one bedroom which was fully equipped with a kitchen, living area, dining area, bedroom, bathroom and washing machine. The decor was modern and the apartment was very spacious and clean and comfortable. We were only steps away from La Rambla, which made it very convenient to walk to everything. We ate in several restaurants in Placa Reial and the service and food was excellent. We had free wifi in the apartment which made it convenient to stay in touch with our family. The apartment complex also had a pool. We were within walking distance to grocery store, We contacted Gothic Suites prior to our stay and the people we spoke with were very helpful. It was the first time we rented and apartment instead of staying at a hotel, so checking in procedures were different as we had to meet a representative who would give us our keys. Everything went very smoothly. Our stay at the Gothic Suites was an excellent experience and we will definitely stay the again when we are in Barcelona. We recommend Gothic Suites very highly.
"Preço baixo e instalações muito ruins"

Quarto sem ventilação e iluminação adequada (ventilador no teto mal girava). Internet só funciona nos corredores ou no hall e o sinal é muito ruim. O único ponto positivo é a localização já que o hostel fica bem próximo do Moll de Barcelona.
"Nice pictures...wish they where real.."
- Ingen parkering. - Innganspartiet er ned-tagget og svært lite koselig. Utenfor vandrer uteliggerne. - Svømmebassenget er veldig lite, og vannet ser ikke innbydende ut. Desverre får ikke jeg lastet opp bilder til Tripadvisor..(?)
