Hill House Hotel - Dereham

We were pleasantly surprised when we arrived at The HIll House Hotel given the little amount we had been charged for the room. The was ample parking and the building itself looked in good condition. Our ensuite room was in the 'out-building', separated from the main hotel by a nicely decked area which gave us the privacy we desired. The room had all […] the basic requirements and despite the shower not working the room was finished to a good clean standard. We didnt venture out into Dereham but the drive to Sheringham and Wells-by-the-Sea was delightfully short. The only thing which let the trip down was the very rude contracted cleaner at the hotel. Clearly lacking any customer service skills. However, he didnt ruin our time away and look forward to visiting again soon. Read more

Other previous hotel users from the night before gatecrashed and slept in the communal bathroom all night as they were looking for somewhere free to sleep. the noise they were making was atrocious. they were banging doors, shouting, doing drugs the lot. Noticed the hotel doesn't change the main door codes enough so isn't too secure as anyone who has […] stayed there a previous night is able to gain access to the property. Not sure if this kind of stuff happens in other MJB hotels, but was the worst 2 nights in a hotel i had ever experienced. Read more

I've stayed in a number of MJB hotels previously and althought in this life "you get what you pay for" my experiences haven't been very positive and will not returned to any, so I was a little sceptical about staying here, but as the loaction was right where I needed to be I decided to brave it!... Thankfully I was pleasently suprise when I got into […] my room... Although like all MJB hotels the room was very basic it was nice and welcoming and had all I needed for a one nights stay. I appreciate that with a lot of MJB hotels you sometimes need a little luck when booking a room as some room's are ok or some are simply awful. All in all if needed I would be happy to stay at this hotel again. Read more

no staff around, no wifi although website said there was, no breakfast even though hotels.com said there was, for someone who needs to leave at 7am or earlier, it wasnt very practical after what i was told
