Iona Guest House - Inverness

Our stay at Rocpool Reserve Hotel & Chez Roux Restaurant was incredible. Service was impeccable and the food was some of the best we've ever eaten. Our only complaint was that the TV did not work, we mentioned it to the staff but it was never fixed. We were only there for one night and so didn't plan on spending much time watching television, so really it was a non-issue for us, but I was surprised the request was not resolved, and had we booked a longer stay, might have been a more serious inconvenience. Other than that, hotel was gorgeous and we'd stay again in a heartbeat. Gorgeous view from the balcony and a private hot tub, plus gourmet food - what more could you ask for!

If you are looking for traditional Scotland in a lovely village, this is the place for you.. We enjoyed our stay and would stay there again. Wonderful staff, dinning and pub….. the rooms are well kept and have charm..

Our rooms were very confortable. The location was very nice and the town of Aviemore was very nice. The fact that the hotel was part of a huge resort system kind of took me by surprise. I was not impressed with the meals at either restraunt on the restort. I was not happy that the restraunts closed so early, btn 8pm to 9pm. After spending a day sightseeing in the area and seeing castle ruins, getting back to the hotel to catch dinner caused a few issues. Also room service closed at 9pm. If it wasn't for the great restraunt staff, we wouldn't have had dinner the one night since we got to the hotel at about 9:15pm. Called room service to get a simple sandwich and was told they were closed. The restraunt was obviously closing, but the waiter and kitchen made us the simple sandwich we were looking for. Not sure if I would stay here again mainly because the restort is there to cater to the clients that stay on the restort all day long taking advantage of all the restort amenities. The restort isn't a perfect match for the traveller looking for a place to stay to see the sights off the restort.
