Extremely nearer to Mumbai Domestic Airport & around 2.5 kms from Mumbai International Airport. Newly renovated rooms. Nice restaurant & bar attached.
Many south indian restaurants, money exchanger & other useful activities in the nearby vicinity.
Its located near the airport which is why I chose it; to come from an international flight and catch a domestic one next morning. The shuttle service is free which is great. Otherwise its very plain and simple. I was given a wrong room first and had to change, I was really tired so it was annoying. I had to leave too early so no breakfast was served till then.
The room was clean but the road was near so its quite loud, also the AC is very loud. The bathroom was ok clean too. Wifi worked well. I wish the room had a salp to lock it from inside as it creates extra safety feeling for a solo travel woman.
Its cheaper than other airport hotels and it has shuttle service, so I would recommend it for a one night stay.
I repeat. Hotel room in Mumbai at a budget of Rs 3000/- to Rs. 4600/-; what you get is bogus. "Mumbai" is another word for compromise at your cost.
For Rs. 3000/- you get a simple but clean room. Yes you have a space in the bath room to take your towel behind and wipe your back! Room is simple.
Now breakfast has improved. It is no more served in the room but arranged in the road side restaurant.
Very simple thing; bathroom window has peep glasses and is open to air. Mosquitoes, lizards, etc have free entry although you have to pay for a night! If they fit a wire mesh it might cost Rs. 2000/- per window. It shall last for next 5 to 10 years. (there are really cheap options of nylon mesh as well) At least they keep those unwanted guests away!
Bathroom geyser is of a capacity of may be 1 lit .... so forget the option of shower since before you get your body wet it runs out of warm water. So bucket is must which is provided in the bathroom. Okay now that can only give you 3/4 bucket of warm / bath able water. Geyser takes time to warm up another liter.
Lastly; why management do not think of providing binocular in each room?
Ohh, dont you know yet?? Columbus hotel provide you a television in room which has may be 8 or 10 inch screen. So binocular will really be handy if you wish to watch a TV!!
I could not disagree more with the good poster below me. The service provided was impeccable. It reminded me of some of my finest 5-star resort stays as far as courtesy. This is not an empty comment. Maybe the previous reviewer was expecting to pay 1000 rupees?
3100 rupees for a basic room- $50 USD. It is a short walkable distance from the domestic terminal. I was very warmly greeted by a professional staff. At first I only wanted to purchase wifi. They gave it to me complimentary though I wasn't a guest. I ended up returning for the night. The room was basic but very clean. Bathroom basic but clean. Bellhop, concierge and assistant, the chef, the security guard- they were friendly to a person and remembered my name.
After I checked out they kept my bags while I went to Colaba. Upon return I was allowed to stay in the lounge, more free wifi, and a drive to the airport. Breakfast was good. The place is very clean. Plus it's a 5 minute, 17 rupee tuktuk ride to Vile Parle Station. As I waited in the lobby a new guest arrived. He asked for water and a photocopy, and both were delivered within 60 seconds.
It's not the type of hotel you are going to book for a week and hang out at. But if you are in transit, I highly recommend it.
A poor option at the given price. Pros are, its very nearby to the airport and provide free Airport PIck Up & Drop facility. Rest everything is average or rather say poor. Staff is too slow in service and may be understaffed. Food is OK if you cannot find anything outside. Fortunately, good options for food are available near the hotel. Rooms are average.
Good location because close to the domestic airport, but just way too much expensive for what it offers.
Rooms are basic, and without surprise the cheapest ones were all 'solded out'. So no choice than taking the 4650Rs one (because I was alone, otherwise it's 600 more if you're 2 for the same room), including insane taxes... For this price, you don't even have a bottle of water that will cost you 50rs. And since you stay there because you have a flight, forget your 'complementary' breakfast if you have to leave before 6.30am... And no discount either! (Needless to say that you won't find some nescafe in the room)
Definitely one of these hotels too much business oriented to provide good services to the clients... Sure you can find better!
The main selling point of this airport is that its very close to Mumbai domestic Airport (just 10 mins walk). This is an ideal hotel for transit as they also provide free airport pickup and drop. Other than that its a plain basic hotel with clean rooms, geysers, tv, room service and a decent restaurant. I find the 3000 rupees standard room is value as room rates are really expensive in Mumbai.
Had stayed in this hotel for a Night for Transit purpose.
The hotel arranges free Pick & Up Drop to/from Domestic/International Airport if you have a reservation.
Located very close to the airport and that's the advantage.
We checked in I was provided a very shabby room with walls peeling and when asked a change, I was asked to upgrade for a better room with additional Rs. 500 over Rs. 4100 already paid. Had no option but to upgrade. The upgraded super deluxe room was good with clean bathrooms, flat screen TV etc.
I consider it to be an expensive affair for a transit. It is mostly patronized by Transit Passengers.
The hotel has an attached restaurant called Mumbaikars. Decent food but expensive one.
It was 11th Sep 2014 and my frequent hotels were full. Some exhibition in Mumbai was the reason and i wasnt sure what to do! During my visits in Mumbai had seen this hotel since it has a restaurant (Formerly Siachen but now changed to "Mumbaikar")
So i called up and lucky to learn that they had room available. Of course all standard rooms of Rs. 3000/- + tax were booked but one grade up for 4000/-+tax was available.
In Mumbai i know that at budget of 3k to 4k what you get is bogus. But no choice. Mumbai is another name of compromise!!
So i was bit relaxed that at least this one night in Mumbai would be some what better. As compared to standard Mumbai hotel rooms. The room was bigger! After you get up from bed you have place to stand up!! ... bath room was big enough that you can take your towel behind to wipe your back!! (in Mumbai standard room's bath area you can only stand straight. If you wish to use soap; your elbows shall hit the walls!!)
Then breakfast was included in the price.
Rooms, bed sheets were clean. Too many switches in different corner of the room so it was nice pass time to learn which switch would operate what!
Room AC had a nice sound all along the night to keep you alert all the time while you sleep. No room newspaper in the morning.
"Hello, what do you have in breakfast?"
"Aloo Paratha, toast butter, juice, tea or coffee"
"Okay! what else? ....."
"No sir, thats all in complimentary one!"
So its not worth after paying 4,600/- just for a night. Although i am going to try the 3000 room. Let me check and then shall update here. All above (small rooms, small bath areas, no choice breakfast is standard of any Mumbai hotels ... some times sounds from train, plane, road traffic mosquitoes are complimentary!!) is okay when i pay Rs. 3000/- (not okay actually but in Mumbai you have no choice!!)
This is a bead and breakfast hotel. Just expect the bare minimum at this hotel - a bed to sleep and a bathroom with hot water. Additionally, the room had a TV, AC with no temperature control, a ceiling fan, a very tiny cupboard. I paid Rs.3000/- per night inclusive of taxes. My rating as Average since the hotel is "value for money" and the management can easily do some justice to the property.
- the phone was smelly - unbearable to hold the receiver near mouth/nose every time I had to call the reception
- the hot water geyser required a bit of attention by the electrician before it started working
- the room had a smell/feeling as if it had been closed for a long time with no ventilation but AC on
- multiple copies of newspapers in the lobby
- no complimentary breakfast
- they have shut down their restaurant; new one with few chairs open to the road. Had tea and bread-omelette - found it expensive (Rs.150+ total)
- management could have paid attention to maintenance of the hotel. These things are easy to address without much investment from their side
- no good restaurants nearby. I had food at Shanti Sagar (or some similar sounding restaurant)
- management is really not worried about the ratings here. Their theory is people ask for discounts, and not given they post negative reviews.
- the bathroom-cum-toilet was clean
- the beds, bed sheets were clean with no bugs
- staff were courteous and responded well to my requests
- hotel is near to the airport, free pick and drop from the airport
- could keep my luggage safely in their cloak room after checking out
- working on my laptop in the morning, with windows open, with no noise around, drizzling outside - it was a pleasant experience in the morning, as compared to night
- is in a residential locality
