Clean, small, affordable, uninspiring, simple.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Great hotel and very close to princes street etc. 50yards from haymarket station. Staff were nice and friendlyGenuine Expedia guest review
"Out of Tune"
The hotel is on the one hand basic but very modern. The staff were helpful but a bit of customer awareness could help, my wife & I are in our 60s and were given a windowless room on the fifth floor. Not a major concern just a bit of awareness on the staff's part.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good Location, nice Hotel"
The room was very very small. Décor was nice and the layout of the room was ok, but the size of the room was poor. Shower was great. Poor that there is no housekeeping service, should be included daily.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Every thing you require for a short stay"
Hotel was fantastically clean, staff were helpful, room was very comfortable, quiet, a little small but we wouldnt hesitate to stay again. Shame about the tramworks but they'll be fixed soon - apparentlyGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good for the money"
We had booked a windowless room and after reading some of the reviews were concerned about what to expect. However we were delighted to be given a room with a window and all facilities readily available. The staff were extremely helpful and pleasant and the rooms were clean and fresh.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Great value hotel - does what it says on the tin"
This is a great hotel and I really liked the ethos of you get what you pay for. When you book this hotel you are made aware that it's basic and everything is available but at a price, which is why the rooms are cheaper to comparable other hotels. The rooms are clean and have a comfy bed and a nice fresh modern bathroom which is all you need. If you […] want to watch tv, then yes you can if you go any buy a voucher to do it - I don't go to a hotel to watch tv so I'd rather not pay for something I don't need which is why this sort of hotel was ideal for me. I will stay here again, and I'd recommend it to anyone Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small but clean rooms - great location"
Small rooms but clean and comfortable. Very good location about 15/20minutes to the city centre/castle with some great local pubs. The staff were friendly but our room wouldn't lock and they weren't able to fix that for the 3 days we were there.Genuine Expedia guest review
"affordable, clean & modern!"
hotel was perfect for us - clean, modern, not huge rooms but we were out exploring most of the time anyway. about 20 min walk into centre of town, very safe and secure.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Flawed small room design"
The Tune is a bizarre design concept. Rooms are basically sleeping cubicles. There is not even room for one chair. One can barely get around the bed, which was not very comfortable. This is a failed minimalist concept, without comfort. Rooms in Tokyo are spacious by comparison! Parking is in a public park several blocks from the hotel.Genuine Expedia guest review
"If you aren’t in your 20s then avoid"
I termed this establishment as the Ryanair of the hotel world. If you hadn't realised it you would have to pay extra for: - towels (£12.50), use of the television (£3 per day), the in-room safe ((£2), and the hairdrier (£2). I obviously didn't read the 'small' print' but you don't get breakfast. If you arrive before 3.00pm you will have to pay a fee […] to enter your room and if you wish to leave after 10.00 am you will be asked for up to £10. Not, I think very good and in the British hotel tradition. I will not be using Tune Hotels again nor will my friends and associates. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel and rooms were spotless and very modern Staff friendly and kept case until check inGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was modern and clean, and the staff were friendly. It was alright for what we needed it for - somewhere to stay in the city. The bed, however, wasn't very comfortable, the room was very small and there were no real signs of hotel service (room wasn't cleaned/tidies/re-stocked for the duration of the stay). The hotel also charges extra for […] things such as towels, checking in early, pillows and things that are usually inclusive with the overall price of accommodation - but with the extra charge for a room with a window you can't really expect anything less. I think once was enough regarding booking a stay at this hotel - again, it was alright for what it was for, but could have been a lot better. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"GREAT FOR SHORT STAY"
STAYED FOR A NIGHT WHEN GOING TO A CONCERT WERE ABLE TO LEAVE LUGGAGE BECAUSE WE WERE TO EARLY TO CHECK IN .ROOM WAS SPOTLESS ONLY BAD POINT NO TEA COFFEE IN ROOM BUT CAN GET AT RECEPTION.GREAT FOR SHORT STAYS AND REASONABLE PRICE ROOM WOULD BE QUITE CRAMPED IF STAYING FOR A FEW DAYS WITH MORE LUGGAGE.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Great budget hotel"
Me and my mum arrived Edinburgh fairly early as we want to make most of our three days stay. First impression of the hotel, clean, morden feel. Staff are helpful and welcoming, we were able to leave our luggages with them for a small fee. The hotel itself is central wtth great transport links. Situated across the Haymarket train station, regular bus […] services to and from airport and local amenities. After spending a day at the Edinburgh zoo return to hotel for check-in. Room fairly basic but clean ( although it could do with a bit more dusting). If you only needed somewhere to stay for the night this is the place. A little tip if you book through Expedia, the internet, the hair dryer and the tv viewing are included. An nice little bonus during our stay. Will definitely book this hotel again if I ever up in Edinburgh. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Hotel ideally situated opposite Haymarket Rail station which is one stop from Waverley rail station - excellent bus links - short walk to start of Princes Street. "Value for money"
Really enjoyed our stay. Great value for money.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Overall there are not too many issues with this hotel. It is new but parts of it looked like it was still getting done up. It is an old office block across from Haymarket Station so ideal for transport to Edinburgh Centre and beyond. As at July 2013 tramworks were STILL going on so there is a lot of work going on outside so if you are booking now, be […] aware if you want peace and quiet. Room was quite small but I was not in it much so did not bother me too much. Major negative things with this hotel is they charge 15 pounds for early check-in!!! And 2 pounds per bag if you want to leave your bag. Biggest issue was I was there for 3 nights and the room was not cleaned once! I would say go here if you want something close to everything but do not pay over the odds for it as it would not be worth it. All in though a good addition to this part of town which can get busy and difficult to get hotel rooms. I just wouldn't want to spend too much time in the room. "Small but clean"
Fantastic little hotel for those on a smaller budget just needing a space to sleep and shower. Very clean and friendly and although not central it is a straight 10 minute walk onto Princes Street or you can get a taxi for £8 in or even a train from Haymarket station which is directly opposite the hotel. Be aware however that it is a basic small hotel. […] Do not expect more and you get what you pay for. It is literally a room with a bed and a shower. Very clean and modern with a hair dryer and TV. It is perfect for somewhere to sleep and get changed while you are out and about in Edinburgh but you could not spend time in the room and no tea/coffee provisions in room, only at reception. The staff were very friendly and helpful and looked after our bags for a £2 charge before we could check-in/after we,d checked out. Will use again for when we just to nip in and change visits but I would have to pay extra and stay elsewhere if need a place to wind down and relax after a busy day. Bargain for the price. "Good Value for the money"
This is an upscale hostel which was ok except the internet setup was very confusing and frustrating (I am a computer network engineer). Good indeed, more suitable for couple without Kids as extra bed or child bed can be a concern. Nevertheless, they definitely did their best indeed and I have nothing to complain.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location, new an snazzy hotel but tiny room"
Everything was great, new, funky and modern. The space in the room was planned very functionally but our bed took up exactly the entire room. I can see the idea but it is just a little too claustrophobic and it wasn't even that cheap either. Also the checkout was real early (10am I think) which on a Sunday was welcome and we paid extra for late che […] ckout. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Terrible place. Will never go back."
I went one hour early at 2 to check in. Even though they had rooms ready they charged me 2 pounds for each piece of luggage to store for one hour till I could go and have my lunch. No coffee or tea facilies in the room. No iron board or box. You have to go to a common place. Very small room. Never stay there. Terrible experience. They treat you like […] you don't want to go there again. Access to hotel was terrible due to constructions in the front which goes on for months. No restaurant in hotel. Nothing positive about it. "Highly recommended for Edinburgh visit"
First time in a Tune hotel, and I'll be back. Spent two nights here and for 'doing' Edinburgh, it was pretty much perfect. The tramworks outside only slightly dampened our stay, but once they're done, it'll be an extra boost to stay here. 15 min walk to Grassmarket / Princes Street, directly opposite Haymarket Station, and a short bus ride to the zoo, […] it's ideally situated to explore the best bits of town. The staff were fab, the rooms were spotless (albeit a touch small), and although it was no-frills, I've stayed in far worse 'with-frills' hotels. Be sure to request a high front-facing room with window, we had great views over the city to the Pentland hills to the south. Highly recommended if you are planning to visit Edinburgh, and while you're there, book a table at First Coast restaurant just 5 mins walk down Dalry Road, lovely food in an unpretentious setting. I paid in advance but arrived a day late and found my room had been given away. I was therefore condemned to a horrible little windowless room which was hot, stuffy and very difficult to sleep in. I was moved to the room I had paid for the next day but I felt I had been badly treated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
It was a wonderful experience. The only thing lacking was the fact there was no coffee tray in the roomGenuine Expedia guest review
"Ok if you are single"
Be warned... When people say the rooms are tiny, it's an understatement. The hotel is ok if you are traveling alone and if you are a man... it was a nightmare for my wife as there is almost no place to put on make-up, let alone any shelf space to even lay things out, and the lighting is horrible. If you have two medium-sized suitcases, you will not […] be able to open the door all the way. The beds are NOT comfortable; you will feel every spring as they jab your rib cage. If someone is out in the hallway, you will hear every word they say. There are NO phones in the room, nor are there any peep holes in the door. This turns out to be rather inconvenient when at 1am, people are belligerently banging on your door... too drunk to realize their key doesn't work because it's not their room. My wife was alone in our room during the 1st occurrence, and couldn't even call the front desk... rather scary. And these conditions weren't just for our room... We stayed for 4 nights, left to travel the countryside, and returned again for another night; different rooms, same conditions. The only problem with the neighborhood is that the area is being torn apart due to road/tram rail construction... This was a royal pain given the hotel is a bit aways from city center (Edinburgh Castle), so be prepared to tack on another 10 minutes for a walk that already takes 30 minutes. But! The rooms/hotel are clean, and the front desk staff are helpful. The hotel is definitely only a 3. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Small but perfect"
Absolutely spotless, perfect location, yes a little small but extremely adequate. Will definitely be staying here again. We got a great deal with Expedia, £33.00 per night and this included the TV, Towels, Toiletries and Safe.Genuine Expedia guest review
It is exactly what it advertises, you get what you pay for. We got a good deal through Hotels.com which was good! We was a little worried about how small the room was when we first got there but seeing as it was just for me & my partner we actually liked the size, it made it a little more 'cosy'. I'm not too sure how I'd feel about sharing one of these […] rooms with someone other than my partner, due to the size there isn't much room for privacy if you're staying with someone you're not comfortable with. wow I had a view - some members of my party did not. Small but perfectly fine for a tow nght saty. might have been a bit of a squash for two people and if i had stayed any longer then the tiny rom may have been an issue. But over all good.Genuine Expedia guest review
Was very impressed with this hotel. Rooms were quite small, but comfortable, clean and modern. Staff service was very good, only issue i had was with trying to get the temperature turned down in the room. The hotel was very modern and stylish, however, the staff seemed very tense about doing everything the right way. the room was very nice however, we were expecting a larger area. Everything worked for me. Good room away from the street where construction of tramway created a lot of noise.the bed was comfy, the bathroom, though small, was more than adequate for one person in a double roomGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Rooms to small! Could have done with more room to walk around the bed. Hotel was very noisy. You could here next room and every time someone shut their doors! "Be aware of the room size"
I paid over £100 for a double room but the size of the room is really disappoitting. Basically, you have no where to sit down apart from your bed and two people in the room do feel so crowded. Though I stayed in this hotel for 1 day but liked it a lot. Few positive things regarding this hotel is : this is in a very good condition and a new hotel. They provides a guide book for the surrounding restaurent of this hotel […] which is very much helpful to get an idea of the place (this guide book even contains the cost of dinning to those restaurent).
