Our stay was absolutely lovely. The hotel booking site had incorrectly booked us the night after, but luckily the hotel had room for us and gave us a free upgrade. They also provided a locked storage area for our valuables. It was clean, quiet, staff were exceptionally nice and the food was divine. The ambiance was lovely with the colonial style architecture. There were guards at the entrance and security seemed very safe. I will stay there again on my next trip.

having traveled in Africa, I was less disappointed than had I not been there before but not convenient, no a/c, no running water in my room and too tired to deal with until morning. I do not think the area was as safe as the other Nairobi hotels I have stayed in.

I used Oryx just for an overnight transiting through Nariobi. If this is all you need and you aren't easily scared, then fine. It is in a pretty bad neighborhood (my window overlooked a shanty town) - I wouldn't spend anytime outside. I arrived, slept, went back to the airport. For that it is safe enough and the rooms are fine.

I will not recommend this hotel to anyone as.Thank you there was no air-conditioner or fan in the room when I complained they provided me with a fan without any stand on it .The hotel did not have any lifts .The breakfast was very very basic

Booked because of proximity to Nairobi airport but the road condition and traffic meant that it was a 30 minute taxi ride so lost that advantage. While cheap, rooms clean, the busy roadside location and poor sound insulation stopped us from sleeping. The hotel is situated in one of Nairobi's slums. No safety. There is a gate but no wall around it... hmmm ? ... we saw the place and went directly to another hotel... the picture of the ad is misleading... they should show what's around...
