"Quiet, beautiful, good service and location"
The hotel is super quiet. Mr Li is very helpful. It's easy and fast to get to the Dragon Snow Mountain and Suhe as well as Lijiang with Nr 6 bus. We both found that it was a great idea not to stay in the busy and loud city centre of Lijiang but in this wonderful village. There are some cafės and restaurants as well as shops and old ladies selling vegetables. […] If you want something special, choose this hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Wonderfully quiet, good service, great location."
Very quiet hotel. I hadn't slept without the noise of traffic in China for quite a while. Great service. Mr Li Dong upgraded our room and organised transportation to the Tiger Leaping Gorge for us. The hotel is conveniently located. Bus Nr 6 takes you in no time either to Jade Dragon Snow Mountain or to Suhe and Lijiang. All in all it was so much better […] than staying in the loud and crowded old town of Lijiang. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet and comfortable"
We spent 3 nights here in a mountain view room that was beautifully-appointed, with a comfortable bed and spacious shower that had heat lamps as well as hot water. It was cold in March and the bed has a heating pad, which was good. The owners speak good English but were away most of the time we were there. The other staff were helpful but inexperienced, […] having been there only 1 week to 1 month. The hotel arranged train and airport transfers and a car for trip to Tiger Leaping Gorge. Response by Baisha Holiday Resort Lijiang Thanks for your review . Yes ,the owner of our resort can speak fluent English and Japanese . Because he used to be a tour guide . At the present , the staffs working in the resort majored in English , and we're trying our best to make progress in helping our guests .
Overall a terrific and beautiful place decorated in a traditional style. Rooms are large and beautiful. Bedding terrific. My only "complaint" is that while it is ideally located for DAYTIME action, the area around BuddhaZen is DEAD at night. Nothing is open after around 7 - it feels like a ghost town! That said, it is an easy taxi ride to where the […] action is! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Quiet, nice place to stay near Lijiang"
This is a very nice place to stay with remarkable views of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. The main street in the little town of Baisha is a 5 minute walk and offers nice food and shopping. Bus service to Lijiang and up to Jade Village is convenient and costs 1 yuan. The rooms at the Baisha Holiday Resort are spacious and comfortable.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Baisha Holiday Resort Lijiang Thanks a lot for your review . Our resort is in Baisha Old Town which is far away from Lijiang Old Town , so it' s quite peaceful and quiet . Response by Baisha Holiday Resort Lijiang Thank you very much for your review and hope you will come back again .
My room had a lovely view of Jade Snow Mountain. The linens were all clean and crisp. (sheets and duvet *****) Good heater in the room and electric mattress pad on the bed. The bathroom was enormous with tile floor to ceiling. The shower was big enough for sevral people and had 4 heat lamps. The bedroom furniture was comfortable and attractive. Overall, […] excellent quality, much more than I expected for the price. The room was bigger and more comfortable than some 4 star hotels I have experienced in Hong Kong. The location is in a quiet village. If you are looking for clean mountain air, peace and quiet this is a place you want to experience. (January 2-4, 2013). Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"If you like the old China feel"
I like the facade of the hotel, it's a quaint old Naxi house. The architect. Skept and not much alterations done to the rooms. So when you use the toilet, the people in the bedroom are able to see you. There is no door but a cloth that does not hide your privacy. A surprise for see for us but the kids were ticked .Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Baisha Holiday Resort Lijiang Thank you very much for your review . Oue resort is in Naxi style , so it's quite ancient and traditional . In order to express Naxi culture , we use tiedye cloth hanging to instead of door of the bathroom . Maybe you 'll feel a little strange . But it's just a kind of Naxi style .
Our 5-night stay at Baisha was overall very pleasant. The courtyards and architecture gave the place a very homely feeling, and provided a lovely view of the Yulong Mountain. The helpers working there were very attentive, and met our needs very quickly. Our only annoyance was the number of houseflies that flew into our room, but we borrowed the fly […] zapper from the resort and spent one evening trying to catch them. The resort was also very helpful with arranging tours and transportation at reasonable prices. The location (Baisha Ancient Old Town) is still developing, and thus very quiet. It was perfect for us as we wanted a place that was quiet. When you're visiting Si Fang Square just down the road from the resort, check out the family restaurant opposite BaiSha Times. It sells very affordable and tasty dishes! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Response by Baisha Holiday Resort Lijiang Thanks very much for your review . First ,we feel so sorry about houseflies . We'are trying our best to deal with them every day . But because Baisha Old Town is just a countryside and locals don't think much about environmental protection , so we can find few trash bins in the street . That's why there are lots of houseflies in Baisha . I think every hotel is confused with the houseflies' problem . Anyway , we continue to fight with the disgusting flies . We hope that the government in Baisha should do something to improve the environment .
"Traditional design in quiet village"
If you're looking for a quiet stay and a taste of traditional Chinese village life, Baisha is a better choice than Lijiang. The hotel itself is very nicely decorated and the staff are very friendly and helpful.Genuine Expedia guest review
Response by Baisha Holiday Resort Lijiang Thanks for your review . Yes , our resort is located in Baisha Old Town , which is a very quiet place .. Because unlike the other two old towns ,Baisha isn't commercial at all . Moreover , our resort is in Naxi style , so the architecture is quite fascinating .
"Hard to find, but worth it"
This hotel is difficult to get to, but once you get there it is worth it. The standard rooms are top quality for an affordable price. The rooms provide you with everthing you need and more, including WIFI in your room. There is a beautiful view of Yulong Snow Mountain. "Great location for a countryside break"
We stayed for 8 nights at the end of a month of travelling in China - we were looking for a relaxing week to cycle and walk and explore rural Yunnan. The location was great for this - a non commercial village with the more commercial Lijiang and Shuhe easily accessible . The hotel staff were very welcoming and friendly. Bikes were available for hire […] and of good quality. We ate in the village at the Roadside Cafe and the food was excellent - fresh and simple. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Cosy vintage resort and wonderful service"
The service was outstanding and trustable, You are able to fully rely on the staff to arrange local tour and provide visiting information. It is more like stay in a friend's house rather than a resort. Room was simple but provided more than the room charge should be. Very nice garden which I spent lots of time to take pictures. The only disadvange is […] the inconvenience location makes difficult to reach tourist spots and need to pay a bit more on transportation.

Trevlig lokalbefolkning.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Far from a resort but a decent B&B"

+ Local feeling Traditional architecture; renovated Beautiful surroundings and good location Staff smiling and welcoming - Bad smells from bathroom during our first night 0 experience from the management During our 3 nights stay in Lijiang we opted for small local hotel outside of the city in the small village of Baisha. The name of the hotel was quite frankly rather ambitious, I'll give you that. Nonetheless and even though this was by far not a resort, this cute little hotel was a great place to stay; far from all the animation and the crowds. Our stay was booked through hotels.com. Prices were about 60 USD per night without breakfast. I actually did redeem 2 nights from hotels.com fidelity program for that stay. To be frank we struggles a lot to get there. No taxi drivers knew where it was and the bus indications were bad. Finally a local helped us by explaining to the cab lady where it was and asked she call the manager who would meet us on the main square of the village. In the end it worked ok thanks to the hospitality and patience of the local folks, something we would encounter on numerous occasion in Yunnan province. Upon checking in, the manager said the room we had booked was not available and he had given us another one. In fact it was a downgrade since we had requested a mountain view queen, which this room did not have. Turns out, the hotel was full and nobody wanted that room because of the smells in the bathroom. Still could be worse. On the second night we were re accommodated to a larger room where the air was much more pleasant. We had breakfast and dinner several time and the food was excellent. There was no routines though, has no specific hours were given and in the end we did not even pay for all the food we ate. Our few days in Lijiang went very fast and we were very happy to return to quiet Baisha everynight. The village is becoming a hotspot these days with fancy cafes and galleries. If you ever go there, visit doctor Ho, he's amazing. Conclusion: Far from a resort but a decent B&B, the Baisha holiday resort is a great place to stay in Lijiang. I would probably come back.

This is a lovely hotel/guesthouse in Baisha. The only problem here is there is so much construction in Baisha that the whole town is dusty so the rooms needed to be thoroughly vacuumed! We only stayed a night so we could live with that. The room had a heater and an electric blanket so we did manage to keep warm during our stay. We had a shower and found it difficult to keep the water temperature consistent. The bathroom was big and nicely heated though. There was a nice Chinese style sitting area in the room with traditional tea pots and cups which we found really quaint. Shops and restaurants close really early in this town so we had our dinner in the hotel. No complaints about the cooking. They have a young puppy who was really friendly especially during meals! The staff were helpful and friendly too but only Charlie could speak English well. We enjoyed our short stay here and will return.
"Great stay in Ancient Baisha Town - would stay again!"

We spent a week at the Baisha Holiday Resort and were very happy with our choice. It was nice to be away from the more touristy old town of Lijiang. "Resort" is a bit of a misnomer for this place, as it is more of a country inn. The courtyard is quaint and gives the feel of being in a small village. We also liked that there was a bustle about the main town square as the local Naxi population went about their business. The fact that many of the older women dress in traditional clothing added to the ambiance and charm of the village. The staff at BHR were very helpful and did their best to make our holiday memorable. On two occasions (one being Christmas Eve), they invited us down to eat with them as they cooked food over their wood-burning stove. They prepared so much food, but everything was so good that we stuffed ourselves. The dumplings that were made on Christmas Eve were fantastic. The young staff (and friends) can communicate in English (some better than others), but the main man - Charlie - is always just a phone call away, and he comes by the place most evenings. They also have a couple nice dogs at the place - Yuyuan, a shaggy white young dog who is friendly but a little bit nippy (probably will be tamer as she gets a bit older), and Lo Liu, a little brown dog who actually lives up the street, but comes by to visit regularly. A couple things to prepare for if planning to stay at BHR: (1) Most dining establishments close up around 5:30 (but do have English menus), so don't prepare for a late dinner in Baisha, (2) If visiting in winter, there is a room heater, but it is only minimally effective, so the room is quite cold. (3) The #6 bus is very convenient to get to Lijiang and back. It is right at the main entrance to Baisha village - near the Baisha Murals - and only costs 1 yuan! BHR pros: Friendly and helpful staff, great environment, awesome views of Yulong Mountain, authenticity of ancient village, access to and assistance with local activities, good wifi internet connection BHR drawbacks: Cold rooms (in winter), water inconsistency (fluctuated between hot and cold during showers), carpeting in rooms (a little gritty, as it really needs a vacuum, and I don't think there was one
"A big family in a small town"
It's my first time to visit Lijiang where many sightseeings attracted me.But there was a resort i want to share with all of visitors, especially for the backpackers-Baisha Holiday Resort.I went back to the tranquil hostel which is far away from the noisy ancient town. To my suprise, two hospitable and friendly "Naxi Panjinmei"waited for me in the entrance of the hostel, they directly took me to the kitchen and let me have dinner with them, they treated me with the local specialty, they called "Miguanchan" and "Lijiang baba" . After the dinner, we took a walk in the Baisha street, they introduced me the Baisha frescoes,Naxi ancient embroideries and many about Dongba culture. I had great days in Baisha holiday resort, thank you all staffs let me be the member of you .I'll come back in the next holiday ,i want to taste more local food and learn more about the Dongba culture.Haha

The first sight of the hotel's yard is "wow! It offers unique traditional village feeling, the room is comfortable, the staffs are all young, quite polite, and speak good English. We did have hot water problem when we were there, had to take cold shower, ended feeling sick, coughing nexty day. Meals served at the hotel was minum, did noticed that you could always walked out ino the street, then get a bowl of hot rice noodle.
"The best place to relax a heart"
08/11/14 jade w Tengchong County, China
I arrived there---Baisha holiday resort Lijiang after a-day tiredness. Different from any other hotels in lijiang, this one is located in a very quiet village about ten kilometers from Lijiang ancient town. On my stay there, everything was so satisfying----the house was well-equipped, the room was clean, the style was so special, the service was good, and the rate was reasonable. However, what impressed me most are the surroundings and the Naxi classical music. Frankly speaking, a day's travel annoyed me, but when I appreciated the classical music and laid on my bed, I feel so good. The quietness is the best thing for a sleepy body and this is really a good place to relax a heart.
"Charming place and lovely staff"
07/27/14 annesofiehoyer Copenhagen, Denmark
We arrived in Baisha after a long day of travel. It rained a lot when we got there, so the road construction or whatever they were doing to the road made it 80% mudd and 20% water, although it looks like they're getting it fixed soon. When we got a bit lost and called the hotel, Charlie Lee came to our rescue. His english is almost perfect and he seemed so happy and kind hearted even though the rain (and our luggage which he took for us) was heavier than heavy. During our stay he invited us to drink tea with him all the time, and he suggested us to go on a hike with him and his friend in the closest mountain to a lake on the other side. It was deffinately a day to remember, them being so nice and buying us local dishes and beer and just practicing their English. The hotel is lovely, it is just as beautiful as in the pictures, even though there was no door to the bathroom, and the hotel was loud as hell - we could hear everything our neighbours talked about, but that is the only thing that you hear, neighbours, dogs, chickens and cows. Charlie Lee was deffinately the top of our stay. He is the sweetest person you could ever meet, and if you asks for anything he will do whatever he can to make you happy.
"Nice setting for a hotel"
07/23/14 sandra g Hong Kong, China
In Baisha village, so quiet at night you can hear just barking dogs. Stars at night on display. Little english spoken and when owner Charlie came it made a difference, but we felt they were pressuring too much to do a trip with them. Room had some teething problems with drainage, smells. Aside from this, OK, for a night in a village.
"Unique location, great staff"
07/16/14 Jon T Sydney, Australia
This resort was undergoing renovations, but the English-speaking staff made me (travelling single) feel like family. Helen was a great help, tirelessly showing me around charming (despite all the tourists) Lijiang town and district. She even accompanied me and a local guide on a quite strenuous hike over the nearby mountain range to another village. The resort is located in a village of the same name: Baisha is 10km outside Lijiang town and further to get to from the airport, but this turns out to be an advantage - the resort is part of an authentic, unspoiled Chinese village set amid spectacular mountain ranges and so far barely touched by mass tourism. As a bonus, the village hosts an embroidery academy housing exhibits of vivid colours and extraordinary beauty - highly recommended (believe me, it's nothing like the embroidery hanging on granny's wall). I would recommend staying at Baisha to anyone.
