Colombo Courtyard - Colombo

My sister and I stayed at the Colombo Courtyard our first and third nights in Sri Lanka and it was incredible. The rooms are amazing (they upgraded us for no reason one night) with open air in the bathrooms, fantastic space, and luxurious bathrooms (great water pressure and very spacious). The staff were amazing. They treat every guest like royalty […] and accomodate in any way possible, including answering our touristic questions, late check out, help with our bags and a special check in process that includes a cool cloth to freshen up and a local fruit drink. The stay was great , hotel was nice however there was a lot of noise ( some party that w going on ) the night I was there and it was very very loud, however it did stop around 11-12 pm. The hotel bathroom was nice and big - but the window didn't have a glass cover just open to the outside noise. However overall the expericence was a very nice one.

Nice boutique hotel in a residential area but off a main road. An hour to 90 mins from international a'port, depending on traffic. Looking forward to staying there again.

This is a relatively new local hotel located along the busy Galle Road in Colombo District 3 - with some designer boutique flavor and I like the rawness in the bathroom. Cross the road and you can shop and dine at Paradise Road and Barefoot cafes in no time, so big pluses for that. But it's location is also its downfall - the double glazed windows did […] not prevent noise pollution from the endless traffic from entering the bedroom and this continues late into the night with the bars and clubs in the same hotel next door. Local events and weddings also take place in the courtyard, amplifying the noise further. When I was there, singing and chatter didn't stop till 2am!! The pool also becomes noisy and its air polluted from the road - countless ants on the deck and chairs notwithstanding making this hotel not a restful one at all. Pros: Friendly staff, good location (brought good quality a cup of tea to the room - before I could even ask for one!), very clean rooms, very good clean bathroom, conveninet location. Cons: no lift (but staff offered to help to 3rd floor), although it has double glazing, bathrooms have no windows (it has louvers) so very noisy from main road (only […] rooms facing main road) - this noise gets into the room. The rooms are kind of small but they have everything you need. The internet was not very good for us and rarely worked so that was disappointing. Everything is nice and clean and well maintained. The breakfast is tastey and filling. The staff our very helpful

Lovely polite and friendly staff. The artwork is great, all made from recycled metal and other materials. Good food in the restaurant and lovely cocktails. The various bars/cafe/restaurant are really nicely done. I'd recommend the roof top bar for relaxing in the evening. Room was comfy and nicely decorated, great rain-style shower. I've enjoyed my stay at Colombo Courtyard very much, it's really worth the price. There were some messed up with our bookings (not the hotel's fault) and we nearly risked having no hotels to stay for the night but the manager was so helpful in sorting things out for us and even bumped us up to a Suite for the night! Their rooms were well maintained […] and feel so comfortable & luxurious to stay in. It's a bonus that this hotel was just opened not too long ago so all the things looks new & clean. The furnishings and decorations around the hotel are also pretty tasteful so it adds on to the comfort of our stay. Overall I would rate it a 4 out of 5 star and it's one of the best boutique hotel I've stayed at. Read more

We had a room on the ground floor just behind the reception. The room had a window with view on the hallway so it was not possible to open the curtain and have some privay. In addition, there was an open window in the bathroom which was really uncomfortable when taking a shower.

The Columbo Court Hotel is a gem! This was my first visit to Sri Lanka and I was lucky enough to find this wonderful place.After getting over the blip of not being offered a drink on arrival and a receptionist who gave the impression that she was the manager and trying to give me a room I hadnt booked despite written and confirmed requests..I was given […] the correct one which was large ,airy and very well equipped....the bathroom was clean, again large and light with lots of fresh towels and lovely shampoo etc all nicely presented.Having the use of a computor in the room was an added luxury.The staff were friendly ,helpful and interested particularly Buddicha who went out of his way to provide room service second to none...nothing was too much for him.. always smiling polite and professional ..a real asset to the hotel which i hope they recognise. The attention to little details by the housekeeping staff led by Pio was also great..finding the bed turned back,pyjamas laid out and a little pot of chocolates left on the bed was pure luxury!! Cloud Cafe on the roof was great although the menu could be a bit more varied and a little larger but being able to look out over the city and only have to walk up one or two flights of stairs from your room was great. I loved every minute of being a guest there and added an extra few days on to my stay just for the pleasure of really being spoilt! It felt like home with luxuries!! Would I go again....Yes!
