SCALETTA HOTEL - Pula

This was a return after 10+ years. Hotel is right on the harbor and patio is a comfortable place to ear and drink.The hotel is in the old city with plenty of restaurants and art galleries. Hotel is older and lacks an elevator, but staff will help you get luggage to your room. Hotel is in a pedestrian zone so you have to drive to the northern entry of the old city, go to the parking office and gain temporary access to the old city to drop your luggage. Hotel has parking just outside the pedestrian zone.Hotel has great breakfast buffet.

What a find! A great boutique hotel in a super fishing village with a staff that treated us like royalty. Special thanks to our host, Dom. He is a super manager and so efficient and pleasant. All the staff seemed like our friends and did a splendid job making our stay one of the best in Croatia. We will be back!

The hotel is in a beautiful area. it is kind of dated but clearly management expands significant efforts to keep the property clean and inviting. We were on a full board plan. The food was reasonable, but nothing like a high level restaurant. You cannot go hungry though. What bothered us is our inability to get away from smokers either in the hotel (you cannot smoke inside but smoke drifts in from the outside through open doors) or at the beach (you can be surrounded by smokers at any time).

Ecxcellent place to stay in peroj, which is just a short drive to pula. We found we didn't miss anything staying a short distance and what we got in return was phenomenal. Beautiful, elegant hotel, with a poolside cafe, bar and restaurant that we lounged at from breakfast through dinner. Tennis court, and great places to sit, read, relax and socialize with family and new friends. Hotel staffs wonderful people, and not hard on the eyes, these croatian men are!

Hotel is excellent, but practically there is no good beach around. Many guests spend most of the time in the swimming pool (! - do you need to go so far for that?), not on the beach because water is too shallow up to half a mile from the cost and it is up to your knees - though maybe kids would like that. That was a disaapointment. Boat can take you to the Ceja island - but practically there is no shade, rocky shore - and boat goes back either at 2 pm or 5 pm, we were grilled by the sun returning back by 5 pm.
