The room was nice (though the bathroom had a murky smell) and the building is an old "haveli" (small palace). The vegetarian food at the restaurant was good, but I cannot say the same for the non vegetarian food. The service at the front desk, especially after hours, needs improvement though. We checked out at 5:00 am on Jan 12, 2013 and the night duty manager was fast asleep behind the counter. It was hard to wake him up and settle our bills. The taxi arranged by the hotel to take us to the airport had not shown up and we were anxious. Instead of calling to make sure that the taxi arrived, the manager asked us to wait patiently and went back to sleep and did not want to be disturbed!!

Hill Top is in excellent location. Friendly staff. We had booked for king bed but was given two single bed. Very disappointed. Room needs updating and regular maintenance is important. I was informed that all rooms have single bed.

This hotel is located on Fateh Sagar (lake) not the larger Lake Pichola. Still a lake side view is very picturesque, very beautiful. Need transport to go to dinner with views of Lake Pichola which is not difficult at all, and transport to the sites. Dining in the Sheraton is delicious!!! If you want to stay in the hub bub of town, stay on Lake Pichola, but if you want a reprieve in a lovely setting with parrots flying through the air, and good value for your money stay here. High quality food prep reduces some travelers' concerns.

The hotel manager , Mr Roger, was extremely pleasant and helpful to us. He went out of his way to ensure we had a pleasant stay and even to help us get a driver for a day long journey south. Unfortunately the night before we left, we got no sleep due to staff moving furnituyture on the restaurant floor above us. After about 4 or 5 calls from us to receptio,, […] over two hours the noise finally stopped after 1.30 a.m. Unfortunately for us and other guests ,the manager was understandably not thhere at the time. Mr Roger continued to be of great service to us, even after we checked out, by communicating with us and our driver by cell phone to ensure we had all we needed for the journey. Read more

we have to wait for 2hours at the reception because Haddi Rani Staff was not aware of the booking .It was because of lack of coordination from there staff part though they have received the mail from Hotels.com but still we have to face waiting time of 2 hours before we can get into our rooms.
