Marco and Gerry were welcoming and full of ideas for local exploration. Truly an albergo run which is well run with a family touch. Located on the town hiking network a short distance (1.5 km) from centro. An excellent value as well. Highly recommended.

"Albergo stupendo"

"PERFETTO"
PREZZO GIUSTO, HOTEL SPLENDIDO, POSIZIONE ECCEZIONALE, BELLA CAMERA, CORTESIA IMPAREGGIABILE! CONSIGLIATISSIMO!

"Very disappointing"

Having read previous reviews we had high hopes for this place. On arrival we went to check in only to be greeted by a rude receptionist. Whilst dealing with us the telephone rang and she picked it up and proceeded to have a 10 minute conversation! Perhaps they need more staff. Eventually we got to our room - it stank of stale cigarette smoke and was rather shabby. The toilet seat was broken and the hairdryer too. It was not a comfortable stay and the place was not at all friendly. We made sure we stayed out all day and ate in the town on both evenings. Breakfast was poor - coffee from a vending machine is not acceptable. On our second morning we left at 7.15am (we had told them the night before) but not a staff member to be seen. Very disappointing!

"Friendly family hotel with lovely lounge and fireplace"
10/08/14 Jenny S Wolverhampton, UK
A very warm welcome from this family hotel, with a cup of tea/coffee on arrival - a very nice touch! The hotel was set in woodland, an easy 2 minute drive out of Pescasseroli. The communal lounge area was lovely - a nice big fireplace which was lit every evening (it was early October and a gloomy, rainy couple of days, so this was very welcome). The family could not have done enough to help us, including taking our laundry down to the local launderette. We ate at the hotel one evening, and the dinner was reasonably priced and very nice. The only down side was that the bedroom was a bit austere and gloomy, but as the downstairs lounge was so nice, this didn't matter too much.

"Authentic family run hotel with relaxed ambience and great food!"

I stayed at the Albergo Paradiso for two weeks on a Naturetrek holiday. Our hosts, Marco and Geraldine, could not have been more welcoming and helpful (both speak English, Geraldine comes from Scotland!) The hotel is full of character and the grounds are beautiful. For nature lovers, there are Firecrests and other birds nesting in the pines and Red Squirrels occasionally visit the pond. Most importantly, there is a relaxed ambience and the food is superb! Thoroughly recommended.

"A good choice"

Three friends stayed here one night while exploring hiking options nearby. Gerry and Marco were very welcoming and helpful both in accommodating us with good food and a lovely room and in helping with logistics for the next phase of our trip. There was too much late spring snow for much local hiking, but the walk to and from town is short and pleasant and in better weather trails begin very near the hotel. Our room was clean, quiet and very comfortable. The breakfast was the best we saw in our two weeks of Italy travel including the typical coffee and croissant, but also yogurt, cereal, and other options. We would definitely stay here again and feel it was a good value.

"A family-run hotel"

We stayed at Albergo Paradiso for five nights taking the half board option as it is located on the outskirts of Pescasseroli and a distance away from the town centre restaurants. It was the shoulder season so everywhere was very quiet. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. We had a room on the first floor with a balcony. It was spacious with a good sized bathroom. The hotel has a lift making access to all floors easy. Breakfast was simple but fine. Drinks from the tea/coffee machine were not very good as the water was not hot but we were able to get drinks from the proper coffee machine in the bar. Evening meals were very good. Although a set menu we were asked each day if the choice was ok and if not an alternative was happily offered, The grounds are fairly large but quite dark due to the number and size of trees although the sun terrace on the first floor over the reception was very pleasant. The only problem we encountered was two nights with excessive dog barking. The owner said it was probably wild animals causing local dogs to bark, however another guest had a small dog and when she left the last three nights were calm and peaceful (aided by newly purchased earplugs). There are some lovely walks into the surrounding countryside from the hotel itself and wildlife in the area is abundant.

This is a charming small hotel, run by a very friendly family. Warm (it was freezing outside), clean, comfortable and great food/wine. I'd go back tomorrow. Great value for money, I'd reccommend it to anyone.

"excellent hotel"

My friends and I booked into this hotel for a weekend recently and we had a lovely time. The hotel is run by a great married couple Marco and Gerry ( Geraldine ). Marco comes from the village of Pescaseroli, Gerry hails from Scotland. Both are very knowledgable about the surrounding area. There are great walks up the mountains to try and catch a glimpse of a bear or wolf. The couple and staff make you very welcome from the start. Elena (receptionist also hails from the village and helps to make your stay there great. The rooms are very comfortable and the food is great. If you are travelling with children Gerry is very good with the entertainment and keeps everyone going. The village is a short stroll from the hotel and the scenery is fabulous. There is a riding school just round the corner where you can book an organised trip on the horses. The resort is a place to ski in the winter and is a wonderful hill walking holiday in the summer. Marco Gerry and Elena plus all the staff make your stay in Pescaseroli a very pleasant one with wonderful food good crack and great entertainment. Thank you.

"Un posto da scoprire e dove ritornare."
08/28/15 Tamara P Rome, Italy

L' albergo è ben posizionato, in ambiente fresco e pulito.
