The Hotel was comfortable and the room was adequate. The staff that we encountered were helpful, courteous and professional, however, just about everyone... that we encountered outside in the surrounding neighborhood was rude and seemingly unhappy that we were there. The neighborhood is exclusively Asian and no one speaks English. The local businesses tout signs in Asian only. The hotel was nice and it really isn't their fault, but I would never stay here again, nor would I recommend anyone who is non-Asian stay here. The neighborhood is garbage and smells like raw sewage and dead fish. The neighbors suck as well!! My wife and I wanted to have dinner in a restaurant that had the iconic Peking Ducks hanging in the window. When we walked in we were completely ignored. At first, I thought that there was just a language barrier, or that they were very busy. As I wandered further into the restaurant I discovered that it was empty. As I approached several employees to inquire about a table, they turned and walked away from me........at least 6 employees did this. It was obvious that we were not welcome. We were in NYC, about 2 hours from our home and it felt like we were in a third world country. Warning, don't go to Flushing, NY!!!!!! by John from New Jersey on 05/07/13
