"Worth Every Penny!"
This is a great place to stay at a bargain rate for this area. Dead Man's Flats is not that far away from Banff. It's a tiny, unpretentious town, and we enjoyed our stay. Our room was clean and comfortable.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
staffs are nice, good location, but not so perfect place to take rests..Genuine Expedia guest review
The Hotel is approximately 30km East of Banff. Whilst is was cheap enough, if you're planning to go to Banff or Lake Louise, you might like to try & find a closer Hotel. The Hotel is Very old & needs a lot of work done to it & you only have the choice of 6 TV channels. It is just off the highway, but fortunately you don't get much traffic noise.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for 2 nights"
The price was good, but the bed was not so good.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice place to stay if you want a quiet place."
We enjoyed a quiet homey atmosphere. Our room was spacious, with a nice mini kitchen. The TV was old and reception was poor with only a few channels available. Since we were there for sight-seeing and didn't want to watch much TV, we didn't feel we were shorted. We would stay there again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Only stay if you want the absolute minimum."
Old. Small. Did not feel safe. Smells from cooking in next room. Open rooms with people milling about. Next to freeway. In past 500 days on the road over the past 10 years, this was worst room. We left even though we prepaid second night. No amenities except coffee downstairs and you could go to the office for a hair dryer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Pretty clean and definately budget minded."
We used this motel as a stopover to Alberta. It was relatively clean and we hardly heard the highway at all. ThanksGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Convenient, Beautiful location close to Banff with all of the view and 1/4 the price. The facilities are not new, but well cared for. and clean. It is in the area natures most beautiful area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice view and great location"
Stayed here one night Sept. 28 and loved it. Clean, comfy and excellent location with a fantastic view of the mountains.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The room was extremely dirty, carpet stayned everywhere. The worst was the beds were full of hair.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very rough -- misleading write up on main screen."
The hotel is in a very scenic location, but is really run down. The comment that someone paid $220 a night for it is misleading -- it made our $90 seem like a deal, which it wasn't. The sheets were rumpled and yellow, there was an old fan, no air conditioning, and the grounds are unkempt and full of weeds. There is a gas station restaurant next door, […] otherwise it is a 15 minute drive into Canmore. There is a lot of highway noise... Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A spacious hotel and staff is friendly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Good experience. The building had a bit of an old, dilapidated feeling, but the staff were friendly. I paid ~250 for one night on Canada day weekend, which I would normally think is overpriced for a motel, but under the circumstances it did the job.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The motel room was great but small. It was perfect for us because we were out all day in Banff & Lake Louise so it was a perfect place to lay our heads at night & affordable unlike Banff! The Junction House restaurant next door was AMAZING & I recommend it highly! The staff was very nice & they provided coffee in the AM. The rooms were cleaned well […] each day too. Spend one night from sat-sun and paid 220 dollars. Surrounding area is nice and rooms are clean but the furniture looks outdated. Only 5 channels on the TV. The reception looked messy and it smelled like a fast food restaurant. The towels in the bathroom felt very stiff, maybe a little softener would do the job. For that price I can get a nicer place […] in Calgary like at hotel Arts or hotel Blackfoot. Both include breakfast and have an outdoor swimming pool. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A good motel, very nice stuff - hardworking, helpful, friendly people. I had all what I needed for convenient, calm staying.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great location out of Canmore"
Pretty run down, don't know why this low budget Hotels always save money on housekeeping, I guess thats why they 2 star rated.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"As expected for the affordable price"
Decent location, clean enough. Fine for the price paid in an otherwise expensive area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Mattess great! breakfast next door at the Husky"
We were only there for one night. It is obvious that upgrades are needed in the Hotel. It was good to see that that is being done. The paint drops on the floor in the bathroom should be removed from the tiles, etc. We were in room number 10 on the second floor.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
goodGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Stinky rooms, never felt like touching the bedding, not very clean conditions with that smell of the old old building.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Older motel but well kept & clean. Good value for the $. Would stay here againGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Not worth the money"
Place was noisy, could hear people through the walls. Room was cluttered. Overall not worth the money, I would be pay 50 bucks not 100Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Ok for price"
Very out of the way of anything. But clean bed, relativity comfortable fit the price. Don't expect much. Room had toaster kettle microwave and gas stove (although we didn't use the stove). Also had Cutlery and bowls and plates etc. Wifi was slow for Canada. Would stay there again if needed cheap bed for the night.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Second time around!"
This was the second time we stayed at the Big Horn Motel. Clean, warm and comfortable! Thanks!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Very good for an inexpensive road side hotel"
Convenient, quiet, clean, just fine.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
I often stay at the Big Horn. It's a pretty basic hotel but the prices are great for this area.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Dated, but clean"
Decore was very dated. Beds quite firm and not the most comfortable I've ever been in, but certainly not the worst either. Very, very clean and quiet, despite the highway being only a short distance away. I'd stay again, certainly.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"You get what you pay for, nice staff though"
Recently on a roadtrip from Vancouver to Saskatchewan, decided it is going to be too late of the night, so I look thru expedia mobile to see what's the cheapest hotel at around Banff/Canmore, and sure enough Big Horn Motel comes up at the top. The staff at reception seems nice, my room is locate at second floor so I have to carry all my stuff and belongings […] upstairs without elevator. Room is open by a door key instead of fob or card. The room seems clean, decoration is definitely not 5 star resort, light is a bit dim and the TV is relatively small. Washroom is clean and plenty of toilet paper/soap. Afterall I will give this hotel a 7/10 rating, it is not the nicest hotel but definitely is a good value hotel to stay for if you don't care about furnishing or decoration. "Perfect for an Inexpensive Getaway"
Great place for the budget traveller.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Might as well slept on floor"
For 135 bucks might as well go into town and search for something better for an extra 20. This place was garbage.Genuine Expedia guest review
Nice to see places triple their prices when someone is in need of a place to stay.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Very clean and comfortable"
No negatives that I can think of..would definitely stay again.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Ideal if you just need a room"
Clean and friendly, if dated accommodation. Ideal for a low cost stop over.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Convent and priced right"
Comfortable, convenient with a great viewGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good to go"
Stayed 2 nights advertised as satelite tv, you get 5 channels (at least they had tsn). Beds were okay, room noise with the highway there was not an issue (with the window closed). Room is clean though. Price is fair for the room your gettingGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Direcdtions for how to get there was not near clear enough. I thought I was booking a hotel, or motel in the town of Canmore itself, and it was way out of town. No chance to do shopping in the evening, as by the time I found it after several atempts of trying to find it.... very dissappointing for me, and no breakfast included....way too high priced. […] I will not go there again! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
We were looking for a cheap place to stay without high expectations. I would have liked to spend a bit less for what we got at big horn but it was a bed and a shower and was reasonably clean. My biggest complaint was that the room was very warm with no air conditioning and a very small, unhelpful window.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
For the price, the place was pretty good. But obviously, don't expect anything fancy.Genuine Expedia guest review
Cool Guy,Verry helpful, staff knowledgible about the area, would stay there again!!Genuine Expedia guest review
Hotel was cheap. Older but ok. Close to highway. Older interior. Shower could be bigger and better pressure or shower headGenuine Expedia guest review
It was right along the Trans Canada highway, so it was a bit noisy at night. For a stop over of one night it was ok.Genuine Expedia guest review
When we arrived, after booking a double room for two adults and two children, we were given a room on the second floor, but then the desk person came out and said oh you have two children with you and gave us a different room. We were in a corner unit with windows on two walls. It was a bit run down but was okay for a stop over on a long drive. I wouldn't […] go there for vacation purposes. There was a kitchenette in the room. If you don't wash your dishes there is an additional charge. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review

"Double check your itinerary."
Unfortunately I didn't catch that our booking began a day earlier then what I wanted. Nothing could done being a day late but the manager offered the extended day at a reduced price making the pain a little easier to swallow.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Avoid. Get a hotel in Canmore instead for 10$ more"
I'd give it a 2.5 if I could. I would not stay here again. Next time, if necessary, I will pay 5-10$ more and get a hotel in Canmore - similarly priced accommodations look far better in their blurbs, photos and write-up.. Only 3 or 4 working TV channels. Below the hanging TV is a DVD player and a mass of cables. The "lobby" has several very used DVD's […] to borrow. I imagine they're free to borrow. If I had just come out of the bush in the Yukon or was in a rougher part of a major American city this'd look OK but it just barely acceptable for a hotel between a major city and a major tourist area. Thin walls (audible TV noise), noise of trucks on the highway. Staff only possess rudimentary English (I live in the Middle East!). Only one lamp beside the bed. I expect the building will be demolished soon as Deadman's Flats develops more. The room and bathroom appeared clean, and the thin, functional carpet appeared clean. The bed was comfortable. Claimed satelite tv, only 4 chanels. No coffee in room. See front desk to get hair dryer. Kids playing with switchboard at midnight calling rooms. Room way, way over priced.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"acceptable basic accomadations"
Pretty basic and older, but it was the cheapest in the area. Otherwise not worth the money.Genuine Expedia guest review
Beds not comfortable and the room smelled because it was a kitchenette. No oven. Nice owners and good selection of videos to rent.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"OK for under $80 CAD"
It a has a "homey" feel. Reasonable value for what I paid. I would have been satisfied to stay another night or two.Genuine Expedia guest review
