"Great B & B close to Roslare ferry terminal."
Outstanding B&B. Breakfast is wonderful. Chris is an international gourmet chef and he can make anything from a full Irish breakfast to poached eggs and salmon. Should be named B&B and D for dinner. If you book ahead a truly gourmet dinner is available. A real plus after day of travel. Rooms are updated and very comfortable. Owners are very helpful and knowledgable.

"This place could be a destination"
All ground floor. Excellent facility. Easiest shower controls in Europe. The best part of it are Chris and Elaine. Watch the news in the Living room. Eat all locally grown and prepared foods at the single dining table. Visit with all the local visitors who come in regarding their dairy, their beef, etc. A chef's kitchen and a Chef, all carefully overseen by Elaine. Talk music, talk cars, talk world travel. The down side, it gets booked up early in the summers, with return guests. Less than two miles past Tagoat on the right. Five miles from the ferry port. Also County Wexford is rich in good things as well.

I never normally take the time to leave hotel reviews but this is such an outstanding B&B that I wanted to do so on this occasion. Really delightful hosts and wonderful food. An excellent standard of accomodation very conveniently located for Rosslare, or in our case, the Wexford Opera Festival. Will definitely be going back.

"Archway B&B"
The B&B was well appointed and the owners, Eileen and Chris could not have been more helpful and friendly. Chris is a great Chef and if you want to have dinner just ask them and book it in advance. A worthwhile experience. We did not stay long as it was en route but so well located for the ferry. I will definitely stay there again and well recommended.

Eileen and Chris are exceptional hosts and their dinners and breakfasts will be at the top of your culinary list for eating in Ireland. You will actually be staying in a professional chef's home. It was like visiting with friends you have not seen for a few years and were catching up on old times.

"Quiet b and b"
Easy to find after getting off the Fishguard to rosslare ferry. Archways is a B and B with a difference. The owners have extensive hospitality industry experience. We arrived near to 7pm with a view to needing to go and find something for dinner that evening. To our surprise and delight we were offered dinner on site at a very reasonable price other in house guests who had been there before had preordered a full 3 course dinner and we were offered completely impromptu some home made soup, baguette salad and dessert. All superb.

"Well worth a visit."
Very short one night stay while passing through. Chris and Eileen were fantastic! Especially as I did not realise I had not actually paid! Used online booking which took CC details but NOT payment. Confused me quiet a bit I can tell you, I'm not the first apparently so take note. Thankfully Chris caught up with me as I was about to board the ferry and after a bit of explaining got it sorted. Both were very understanding and I thank them both for a lovely stay and look forward to staying again. Visit the lobster pot if you get the chance also. Again Archways is an ideal spot with a lovely (and understanding) couple running it. Well worth a visit.

"Wonderful"
Everything was top class. The food, in particular, stands out. There is an optional evening meal for which everyone sits at a communal table so you get to meet your fellow guests. This is an interesting concept and it works brilliantly. The meal was top quality; you would be hard pushed to find an independent restaurant at the same level. The breakfast is also very good. Whiskey in the porridge!

I stayed here overnight so I could catch the early ferry back to Wales from Rosslare dock, which is only about 5 or 10 minutes away. The people who run it were really helpful and friendly, the room was clean and very well presented, the bed was comfortable, and I'd come back on the basis the Irish breakfast alone. Great place.

This was the best Bed and Breakfast venue that I have ever stayed in. The room was modern, clean, very comfortable and the shower was to die for! "Outstanding stay prior to Ferry crossing."
Although on the N25 and only a few minutes away from Rosslare Harbour, Archways is set in lovely grounds in a rural setting. We had a really warm reception from Eileen and the room and whole house were immaculately presented. Facilities included Tassimo coffee machine, little 'welcome' cakes, an i-phone dock and free WiFi. Eileen suggested a nearby pub for dinner, where the food was good and the ambience perfect. An extraordinary range of items are on offer for breakfast which can be served (if required) in good time to catch the 9am ferry. I'm only sorry we we there simply for an overnight stop.

Almost too good a place for a single overnight stay! We stayed at Archways prior to an early ferry crossing and it was a joy. Fussy son got his wifi and home-made chicken goujons, the rest of us got stuck into Chris's excellent cooking for dinner (top-notch ingredients). Nice touch to let us know to bring our own wine. Bedrooms lovely and comfortable with ace coffee machine and iPod dock, also the shower was good and strong. Breakfast was superb, fantastic selection (spoilt for choice!) and a helpful bacon sandwich to go for my wife, whose stomach can't handle the prospect of an early breakfast. We'd certainly stay here again!

"Ideal Ferry Stop"
08/20/15 Tomfitz46
We were delighted with this B&B. The homemade biscuit welcome was most appreciated - and delicious. Our room, though small, was tastefully decorated in red, black and white. The bed was large and very comfortable. The ensuite was a gorgeous rain shower water room. We advance booked for dinner and were not disappointed. The chef/owner had prepared a five star meal - just for the two of us as it happened. (We discovered that Sunday night is usually quite slow in a B&B) The starter was a tasty mushroom and cheese pastry with a spicy tomato sauce on the side. The entree was their own raised pork with apricots and served with (again own grown) beetroot, potatoes, and carrots. For dessert we were served a luscious Wexford strawberry mousse with a blackberry topping. Five star all the way! Our hosts were a charming couple, full of interesting stories of their travels and hospitality experience. If you want a five star experience in a B&B - this is it! Highest value for the money that we have seen in a long time.

"Ideal B&B for the ferry"
08/09/15 Decapitate Aylesbury, United Kingdom
The Archways is located about ten minutes on the main road from Rosslare harbour making it an ideal B&B stop-over for the late arriving/early morning ferries. Eileen was a most delightful hostess and Chris' cooking shows a real love of food and skill to match. He can even raise the humble cottage pie to a new level. We got the feeling nothing was too much trouble for them to accommodate their guests and they happily offered recommendations on such diverse matters as driving routes and places to buy potatoes. Eileen runs the operation as a "home from home", more specifically, there is communal dining and a small lounge area with many of their personal effects in. You are their paying guests but you are treated like friends coming over for dinner. We enjoyed sharing experiences and ideas with other guests but accept that this style may not be to everyone's taste. If we were to identify one small quibble it would be that the rooms are a little on the small size. However, the quality of the beds and en-suite wetrooms mean that is easy to ignore! The bedrooms facing the road are well sound insulated so noise was not a problem. Overall, an ideal B&B for the ferry. Do consider the dinner option that Eileen and Chris offer. You won't be disappointed!

I do not have the words to convey how good the Archways is! We were greeted by Eileen on arrival, who showed us to a very well appointed room, clean and extremely comfortable! We stayed four nights and dined every evening, what a treat that was.. Chris's food is superb. So much so that we only intended to dine there on the first night, but why would you eat anywhere else! Breakfast was just as good. The fabulous reviews on trip adviser are fully justified, I promise you will not be disappointed. Stewart and Carol

"A really good find! "

Booked Archways after reading such great reviews on Trip Advisor for 2 nights, 1 after leaving ferry on Friday evening and 1 the Saturday night before the ferry early next morning. I booked a total of 3 rooms as soon as we'd had confirmation of our first holiday in Ireland. From the outset; to pulling up, the welcome all our first stay and then our second stay everything was fabulous with no complaints from any of us! Breakfast was excellent we all had porridge with whiskey ( with the exception of mum who's 80 and has a small appetite) followed by the divine full Irish! On the second morning we had priority boarding which meant we needed to be at the port by 8am but Eileen and Chris were stars getting all breakfasts out so quickly and all freshly cooked! Slaheny (smoked salmon and scrambled egg) is mmmm 😍. Yes we all sat round a huge dining table rather than individual tables which we had never done before but found the experience rather nice! Not awkward at all. We will definitely return if we're in the area again and will not hesitate to recommend it to friends. Thank you again for a great stay.

"Fantastic stay"

My husband and I stayed here for one night after arriving on the ferry from Wales. Our host Eileen Hadlington welcomed us at the door and explained that dinner would be at 7.30pm and that we would be the only diners. Well, we were treated like royalty- We had the large formal dining table to ourselves and were served home cured salmon with home made ricotta, wild boar (caught on the property) with a beautiful sauce and fresh strawberries with home churned cream. (Chris her husband and a professional chef cooked all this and Eileen served it). The next morning my husband had the wild boar kidneys served with a deviiled sauce - he was in heaven! We wished we could have stayed longer to try more of Chris' wonderful dishes.

The Lady was professional and very friendly the room was clean and lacked nothing except a comfortable chair ( it had a wonderful coffee machine) The Breakfast menu looked wonderful as well , I am not saying don't stay here but for me the room was small and I think the lack of your own table at Breakfast is a bit much - but that is probably more my problem rather then the B&B's but small talk with strangers first thing is not my thing particularly if I am rushing for a ferry early doors

The Archways is very well appointed, clean and warm. The welcome was friendly and we stayed for the evening meal. The food was delicious, cooked by Chris who was able to describe exactly where all the locally sourced (and even home grown) produce was from. Eileen was a very attentive host. The difference was that we were all sat together around the dining room table; which was unexpected but in the end worked well, sharing holiday stories. Breakfast was a delight and the best sausages and bacon we had tasted in Ireland. The porridge comes highly recommended as well.

Chris and Eileen provide a very warm welcome and the most amazing food! Chris is a 'culinary genius' and grows/rears/makes most of his food. He has a passion for food and the 3 course dinner and breakfasts are well worth experiencing - delicious. Eileen and Chris have worked as a team for many years and their experience shows - nothing is too much trouble and there is good attention to detail. Archways is but 10 minutes from Rosslare and ideal for the ferry but also for exploring up the East coast. I was slightly concerned when we arrived that Archways is situated just off the main road but I needn't have worried as it is very well insulated and you don't hear a thing! Would highly recommend Archways and thank you to Chris and Eileen for making our short stay so wonderful.
