Can't say anything bad about this place ... price is reasonable, staff is really great, space is nice and big and spotless with good WIFI, breakfast included (plus kitchen w/ tea coffee etc) perfect location right by the metro and train .. with a great resto across the street and many in the neighborhood. Little hard to find (its on the third floor of an unmarked building above the Fax restaurant) but book in advance and you'll get a nice instrux email. Had a great stay here .. recommended!
"A lovely place to stay"

My husband and I stayed at this place for three nights while exploring the beautiful city of Lisbon. This place is surrounded by beautiful views of the city and of the river; It is also located in the Alfama neighborhood, which is an amazing area (my favourite in Lisbon) to just wander the narrow alley ways and steep streets. The only downfall was the very steep hill my husband and I needed to climb from the train station with our luggage, but that could easily be fixed by taking a taxi. The people that run the guesthouse are extremely pleasant, and very helpful. the rooms are clean (they get cleaned daily), and the wasrooms, although shared, are beautifully kept. One of the best showers we had our entire vacation.

We've just returned from three nights in Lisbon where we were lucky enough to stay at this wonderful little B&B. The location is fantastic - in the heart of the charming Alfama neighbourhood, close to lots of great restaurants, bars, and sights. Santa Appolonia train station is a short walk away and a couple of bus routes pass right by the door. The place itself is just lovely - our room was really spacious (I wasn't expecting that at all!), with a very comfortable bed, and modern bathroom (great shower!). The communal living room was probably our favourite - with comfy sofas and chairs, and odds and ends of furniture. We loved to sit there in the evening and watch the sun set over the Tejo river, or read our books in the soft lamplight while jazz music played softly in the background. The staff were very helpful and friendly, and the breakfast was plentiful and yummy. All in all, a really wonderful stay. Highly recommended!

Guesthouse in the Alfama with extremely friendly and welcoming staff and gorgeous view over the river. Well connected (Santa Apolonia train and subway station just down the street - a steep street, I admit). Friendly and prompt answers to all questions, whether before booking (by email) or during our stay. We also appreciated the beautiful old furniture used as a counterpoint to the contemporary style, the generous breakfast with Portuguese special treats and the cleanliness (including in the shared bathroom). You might hear some of the life of the restaurant on a lower floor of the same building - but that's why you chose a city trip, isn't it?

This small boutique B&B is fabulous. The views from certain rooms are picture book quality. It has a wonderful feeling about the whole place and the people running it not only do so meticulously but they are also very nice people. Pictures of this guest house do not do it justice, you have to stay there to appreciate the pearl that it is. Location for trains, trams, buses and exploring the facinating streets of the Alfama on foot could not be better.

Good memories will remain on our first trip to Lissabon. For us is the down to earth, homely atmosphere exactly right. No fuzz, no hotel wannabee. F.a. You put your own dishes in the dishwasher. Almost like an Ikea advert home feeling. It's a bit hard to find the entrance at first and the elevator is not very inviting but after that you will be more than alright. Staff is friendly and helpful. No doubt for us: Next time we'll stay there again.

Really lovely guest house. My friend and I had a very comfortable and relaxing stay there - nice and pleasant staff, good breakfest, very clean room and bathrooms and we recommend Sweet Lisbon River Guesthouse to everyone.

This hostel is located in a nice area of Lisboa. Although the building where it's located is in a bad preservation, the guesthouse itself is clean and the rooms are nice. The views from the rooms (Me and my travel companions stayed in "Ovos" and "Canela" rooms) are great!!! The breakfast is nice, as well, and the owners are very simpathetic. I would just advise them to talk to the other people in the building to make a remodel of the entrance, in order to value the place... :)

Every bit and inch of the property is a design artwork. Great view over the river (looks like a sea, with cruise ships coming and going). Perfectly clean. Excellent bed. The continental breakfast does not include any warm food, but is OK, and the buffet is not limited. Very nice stuff. If only the toilet and shower were ensuite (inside the room)!.. But obviously the change of planning of the appartment is hardly possible. The way up the street to the house is really steep, but rather short. The house is in the famous Alfama district, the real heart of Lisbon. We could recommend to put a better sign on the entrance door, not just a handwritten sheet of paper. You cannot see it in the dark, and it is a total contrast to the tasteful inside of the property. Otherwise, we would really like to thank the owners for an excellent work
