"Comfortable hotel right off the slopes"
Very comfortable clean hotel with good facilities and you can ski right on and off the slopes. Swimming pool was fun for the kids too. Overall a great place to stay with family.

"Family Ski Trip"
Fantastic hotel and the rooms were amazing with everything we needed to make our stay very comfortable. Great location for the ski slopes however it's a good 15 minute walk away from the main centre of Avoriaz which with children wasn't easy. For €20 return you can book transport from reception however there was enough to keep us occupied in Amara for the week. There are about 6 restaurants in the area and a small supermarket but no real bars to speak of so après ski was limited. We booked the 2 bedroom apartment which had 2 bathrooms, good size living space and a fully equipped kitchen. The rooms were very clean when we arrived and everything worked. The skiing in Avoriaz was extensive and links to the PdS ski area were well marked and easy to navigate. If you are a competent skier I would recommend the full area lift pass however if you’re not then there's more than enough skiing in Avoriaz. We used Le Village des Enfants ski school for the kids who are based in Avoriaz however they do collect the children from the hotel every morning. There's 2 Skiset shops right outside the hotel which was handy.

"Lovely accommodation in a Great location!"
This accommodation was a great find, we had beautiful views over the Morzine valley from the balcony. It was in the sleepier part of the resort but only 5 mins walk into the busier part. The staff were very helpful and informative, nothing was too much trouble. The 2 bedroom apartment we had was perfect and very spacious, we were a party of 4, if there had of been 5/6 people we would have needed a 3 bedroom otherwise the lounge/dining area needs to be slept in. It was on the whole mostly clean but the bedroom was sooooo warm; the window in one of the rooms did not open in the same way as the other room, it just 'flapped' and did not lock into place! Not a fan either of the continental square pillows! The spa/sauna and hammam was a welcome treat after a day on the slopes if only the pool was a warm as the bedrooms! Overall taking away the nit picking, it was a fabulous accommodation and we will be back!

"Very good"
Beds a little too hard. I made a room-reservation (50 EUR) on 9th floor when bokking but they had missed that when I arrived. Everything else was perfect!

"ESF of Avorias is the worst ski school of ALPs"
Hotel and Avorias nature was fantastic but esf ski school was terrible for this reason ı never advise to travel this area for ski with your kids. Teachers was rude to kids and school wasnt well organized. Some kids lost when they are taking ski lesson. ESF dont like other Ski school of Alp region resorts or other ESF. I have to say that some teacher was good and kind but generally problem was related with kids lesson and organization of ESF.

"Härlig relaxavdelning"
Det var bra bad- och bastuavdelning. Vi fick bara 2 badrockar i lägenheten trots att det var en 6 personers lägenhet ! Vi bad om att få en var, men det var omöjligt. Tydligen är det tänkt att 4 av gästerna ska vara barn. Det ska INTE stå att badrockar ingår. (2ingår)

Brilliant apapartment complex with stunning views in great resort. Slightly dislocated from Morzine, tracks to Zore and Lindarretes could perhaps be a bit better and better signed. Family trails need to be developed.

"Summer visit"
07/23/15 ukcamperUk UK
2nd Summer visit to Avoriaz. Great place to come with loads of activities and excellent sizeable accomodation with smallish pool and complementary steam room and sauna. Staff very helpful contrary to some of the oder reviews on here. Weather was good for our stay, very pleasant 22 to 26 degrees in Avoriaz, but is consistently 4-6 degrees cooler than Morzine a short drive or ski lift below, but perfect for activities. Thonon is less than an hour away on banks of Lake Geneva (or Lemond to the the Fench) and temperature was constantly around 30 degrees with chrystal clear water for those needing a beach fix or a stop off to Geneva airport (worth paying 5 euro each to use facilities at pay beach area). Avoriaz is car free with small Center Parcs type pool, Aquariaz, on site. Lift network made getting around easy. Mountain Biking excellent although pricey (would recommend taking an initiation as can be pretty hard core !), lots of other activities in town. Only negative if you've been here before is that Pierre Vacances is no longer a mutipass partner so this costs 8 Euro per day per appartment rather than 1 to 2 euros previously - essential for travelling on Ski lift network - that caught us out but just meant we planned better when to use them (Pierre Vacances offer a number of free passes instead). Would recommend this to anyone who wants good quality accomodation and wants to be reasonably active.

Awesome place to stay, just on the outskirts of town but great for ski in/ski out. Having been to Avoriaz 8 or 9 times now this is by far the best place to stay and offers absolutely everything, including stunning views of Morzine and surrounding ski areas. The rooms are great, with trendy ensuites offering ipod docks and mood lighting and theres an excellent living area with a large kitchen that has everything. Also, the free wifi was superfast which was a nice little luxury. I'll definitely be back.

"Amazing Views"

Right next to ski school, short walk to restaurants and shops. Good sized clean rooms, lovely bed with plenty of extra blankets if needed, only grievance is that we asked for a flat for 6 people thinking it would have 3 rooms and it only had 2 rooms and a sofa bed in the living area. Access to steam room and pool via under ground passage perfect after a day on the slopes :)

"Fantastic ski apartment"
05/03/15 ParkmanHastings Hastings
We were a party of 3 adults and 2 x 8 year old children. Firstly the negative points. 1. The boot/locker room is small and can be awkward first thing in the morning 2. The cushions on our large sofa bed kept slipping off - tiny bit annoying 3. Indoor pool could have been a couple of degrees warmer Everything else was fantastic Our apartment was perfect for our family in every respect, particularly: - parking underneath the hotel was a god send considering the resort is vehicle free and well worth the 100 odd euros for the privilege - 2 bathrooms, two toilets and lots of space in the apartment. Nice balcony as well - Proper ski in-ski out location with nice views - All staff were genuinely friendly and helpful - Free wifi worked well, even for the 5 or 6 devices we had on the go - Restaurants within hotel complex were very good and value for money given where we were We normally ski California as we find the people much friendlier than our 2 previous french ski holidays. This was our first ski holiday with our 8 year old twins so we chose to drive to Avoriaz. My view on skiing in France has now changed. Everyone was extremely nice and friendly towards us including the fantastic instructors at ESF who looked after our children morning and afternoon every day. Shop staff, restaurant staff and everyone in our hotel were just fantastic. Keen to book same again next year

"Fantastic ski break"
04/19/15 Paul C
We have stayed at the Amara three times now and this was by far the best.It has improved steadily from when it first opened. We able to ski in and out to just outside the excellent ski room and were able to benefit from the long sunny afternoons using our balcony which had a great view of the mountains. The two restaurants in the complex have also improved and we used them both for the first time this year. The pool is great and whilst it can get busy at 5pm, it is never too crowded. The sauna and steam rooms are good and are generally under used. The only negative is the check in, on a busy Saturday for arrivals we weren't able to get into our apartment until 6.30pm. Having been before we knew that this might be the case so collected skis and shopped in the time between 5pm and 6.30pm and filled the time. Would thoroughly recommend the Amara and intend to visit again soon.

"Most relaxing ski holiday with kids ever!"
04/16/15 Elizabeth J Sydney, New South Wales, Australia
Very comfortable apartments in a beautiful setting close to nursery and beginner slopes. Horse and sleigh collects kids for ski school though by the end of the week they were skiing there down their favourite run, Proclou, which passes by the apartments. From the bottom of that it is a chair lift to town. The swimming pool complex was lovely for pre-bedtime wear out session and my husband and I enjoyed the spa one morning when the kids were in ski school. The bakery service in the morning sorts breakfast out. There are lovely places to eat lunch in town (we liked les intrets) and local cheeses and wine are a treat when kids in bed in the evening. Avoriaz is a delightful town and this is a wonderful place to stay.

We loved the apartment and the views. Our party made up of elderly grandparents, skiers and child. Worked really well. Loved being able to hire raclette, fondue and pierrade from reception. Accommodation roomy and comfortable. Reception staff knowledgeable and professional. Great to be able to ski in and out of the heated boot room.

"Great apartment with great view in Avoriaz"
04/14/15 browneyedgirl2010 London
We are a family of 4 who stayed in a 2 bed apartment in the Amenda building on the 12th floor with balcony & brilliant views down the valley to Morzine & across to the ski runs of Avoriaz. Great week, was home from home with free wifi, etc. Pool was lovely if a bit cool, kids didn't mind & the Hammam & saunas were good. Stayed in & cooked some evenings & ate out with friends a couple of times (would recommend Les Fountaines Blanches-have to book). Definitely plan to return.
