"Like staying with friends"
Beautiful hotel in BellaVista area. Stayed in many hotels on our mostly driving trip from the tip of South America. This was absolutely the best. The room had a beautiful balcony. The staff was extremely friendly and could not do enough to please us. To top it of, we had a late night flight so we checked out and left tour luggage for the day. Great staff and serviceGenuine Hotels.com guest review
A great hotel in a great location. It's in the Bohemian district which depending on your taste may be a turn off. I was traveling with my children and walked extensively at night and never felt unsafe. Front desk staff Jennifer and Marcos where awesome. Great help with everything.Genuine Expedia guest review
"Perfect Place for a visit to Santiago"
Staff was top notch and very helpful. Breakfast was great and rooms were clean and bright. A block away from the Art Museum and walking tours. I would stay at Hotel Loreto every time!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good location for young people"
I love this hotel because it has a good location in the university neighboorhood very close to bars ans restaurant and a lot of people to meet on week ends nights. The hotel is also very charming even if it is not modern in the amenities but it is sophisticated with a nice patio ... The only thing that makes me crazy is that they are working with a […] Taxi company which is never on time. I booked twice the taxi through them and never again, you are better off stopping a taxi in the street. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
Stayed in this hotel for about 3 days and I am satisfied overall. I definitely recommend this hotel to people who don't want to spend couple of hundreds for night in expensive hotels and still get good quality service for affordable price.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was fine but watch out for the taxi ride to the bus station or airport. There's a set rate to either one through a contract with the hotel. Once you get to your destination DO NOT just hand the driver your bills. Count out the bills one by one as you hand them to him. If you don't do this he will scam you. Once you just hand him your bills […] without counting them out he will take them while you're getting ready to get out of the cab and he will switch bills and show you that you paid too little. The taxi driver tried this from this hotel. Happened to me in Mexico at a gas station too. I hope the hotel management sees this and fires this taxi company!!! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
This was my second stay at Hotel Loreto. I cannot complement the staff enough on their level of service and the degree of English that they spoke. The hotel has a great location, and a great area on the roof on which you can bring your own wine and enjoy the quiet surroundings. The late check out, luggage storage, and ability to shower was a nice plus. […] I highly recommend the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very friendly and helpful staff. Walking distance to most spots of interest. Good breakfast. Unfortunately no air-conditioning. Tiny room and bathroom with no place to hang any clothes. We arranged for an early morning airport departure but the taxi showed up thirty minutes late and then over-charged us.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The Loreto is a nice clean hotel in an area where it's easy to walk to many of the city attractions. We were very surprised however that our room (309) did not have a bathroom. It was across the hall, and although private, we had to cross a hallway, and use a separate key to get into it. This might be OK in a youth hostel, but completely unacceptable […] in a hotel where we paid market rate. The people at the front desk were very nice but offered up a very lame excuse to our complaint. The hotel was full. There were no other rooms. We would never have booked the room if we had known it did not have an en-suite bathroom. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

Everything about management and staff was tops. They made phone calls for us, printed boarding passes, gave directions all with a smile. "A night in Santiago"
Our trip to Santiago was cut short to 24 hours.. We arrived late in the evening after an all day road trip...the hotel staff was super ...the hotel is recently renovated and has great features, like a rooftop hang out... "Inner City Gem"
We spent three days here prior to taking a cruise from nearby Valparaiso and are glad we did. The Loretto is a small, family run hotel located about a 20 minute walk from the heart of Santiago, in a mixed neighborhood of residential (all types) and businesses. We arranaged with the hotel to pick us up at the airport wihch was most convenient. The room […] (and hotel overall) is part of an old mansion, beautifully renovated and very clean. The space was small - we had to step around our suitcases, but we had all the conveniences except a/c. We did have a window (opening on to a nice interior courtyard) and a van and were comfortable (80s). Not sure if we would have enjoyed it as muchin the 90s, though. Staff was unfailingly helpful and friendly. In addition to advice about things to do and locations (local restaurant for lunch, ATM, etc.), they also arranged for a car to take us to t he ship - about a two hour trip. There are several comfortable lounges and the breakfast room was comfortable and the food selection wide and uniformly good. We will stay there again if in Santiago. "Excellent Location, Value Priced"
The Loreto Hotel is a gem in a wonderful area to stay. We arrived early, around 9 am, from Valparaiso and at first thought the area was run-down with no action . We soon found out that it has at least 5 restaurants of varying prices to eat at, including one that serves the "completo" -- Santiago's version of our hot dog -- within a block. But they open […] after 10 am. But if you walk about 3 blocks due east you have the center of Bella Vista with its many restaurants including Galindo which is a local hot-spot, with music, for the locals. This was written up in Lonely Planet as the #1 Santiago restaurant. Two more blocks east and you reach Pedro Nerudas famous house and the funicular up San Cristobal hill. Three blocks south from the Loreto Hotel is a metro stop or you can walk to the mile to many of the old town area to see the sites. For example, 4 blocks to the west of the hotel is the Mercado for a wonderful fish feast. The hotel is clean and comfortable, the breakfasts are just right and the staff all speaks English very well and is so helpful and friendly. A real treasure! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Lovely hotel in good location"
My husband and daughter and I stayed at the Hotel Loreto for 2 nights. We arrived in the morning well before check in time. The staff was excellent, very kind and helpful. Most spoke English well. They stored our bags and offered us the option of showering. We were able to go to the breakfast, which was tasty and options were plentiful. They offered […] very nice dinner and sightseeing tips. The hotel is convenient to the Metro and we always felt safe walking in the area. I booked a room for two traveling friends. The bookinf process was smooth and the hotel staff could not be more helpful. Its a small hotel, just over two years old. "Comfortable, clean and affordable place to stay"
Hotel Loreto was very nicely situated...we were able to walk to many main sites such as Patio Bellavista, Cerro San Cristobal, Mercado Central, Plaza de Armas and Catedral Metropolitana and Cerro Santa Lucia to name a few. Anything that was further was easily accessible via the Metro station just a few blocks from the hotel. The rooms are small; if […] you are used to boutique hotels or European mid-level hotels, it is comparable. If you are looking for the big rooms typical of chain hotels, you will not get it here. The neighborhood is in transition; it is scenic in it's own way, but if you are the type of traveler that prefers window shopping and posh places, you might not appreciate the immediately surrounding neighborhood. It is more bohemian and in transition, which can make a person nervous after dark. However, we never had issues and within a 5 -block walk are nice places to hang out for nightlife. The staff was lovely and gracious; and even with Spanish/English language barriers, we were able to communicate fairly well. Breakfast was great, and the hotel had comfortable gathering areas where we could kick back with a glass of wine and enjoy friends. In general, a good hotel for the price. "Big Mistake in Santiago"
It started with a less than impressive lobby and went down hill from there. No elevator. The safe didn't work in the room. The air conditioner started spewing the condensation after 15 min of use (onto the room floor). I had to use the bucket from the bathroom to catch it. The TV didn't work. The bathroom was so small that I could literally sit on the […] toilet, wash my feet in the 'shower' while bruching my teeth at the sink. The toilet stopped up the first day. The shower was so small that if I dropped the soap and bent over either my head or rear end would stick out. No bar soap and no washcloths. The breakfast was something I wouldn't pay $5 for. I checked out 2 days early went to the Plaza San Francisco (Now that gets a great review). Everything I mentioned would be just fine if this hotel would have cost $35/night. The hotel was excellent. The staff was superior. Even though we only had three days we could have spent two weeks just exploring the neighborhood. "Great stay from beginning to end"

"No Air Conditioning"
The most important thing for me in a hotel room is the ability to sleep. The lack of air conditioning made the room too hot for me to be able to do that. My room didn't have a window and instead had a door which opened into a common balcony so I could not leave it open (it was cooler outside than in my room). The bed was hard and uncomfortable and the […] bathroom was tiny and difficult to use as was the tight tiny standup shower (my room didn't have a bath). The Positive: Location was good. About 15 minute walk gets you to many of the main sights. The Staff was friendly (though not necessarily competent as my Airport Taxi didn't arrive and I had to walk around the neighborhood looking for a taxi). Breakfast was adequate. Overall, would never stay again, since the friendliness of the staff doesn't help me sleep in an oven. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"We only had 24 hours in Santiago..."
The Hotel Loreto was perfect. We only had 24 hours in Santiago (long layover), but wanted to get out and see the city. We arrived at midnight and the front desk staff was so welcoming...the bellhop even went out and got us four beers to drink in our room!! The hotel is modern, but classy, with big balconies in each room. The room was very quite; with […] the balcony door closed you could hear a pin drop, so we got great sleep. The location is perfect for anyone that wants to see some of the city. We walked to the museums, market, plaza de arms, and the Bellavista barrio area. I'd strongly recommend this hotel to anyone. "Handy location for a tourist"
Attractive facility conveniently located between the tourist sights of Centro and the bars and restaurants of Bellavista. I just walked. My first-floor room (102) was cramped but it was just me and I only had carry-on luggage so I didn't need much space. The big bed was more valuable to me. "Comfortable new property"
We enjoyed staying three nights at the Loreto. While the hotel appears to be a relatively new property and the staff appears to be learning on the job, it is a pleasant place to stay. The staff spoke little English but was helpful and very approachable. The Bella Vista barrio is a charming area and close to the city center, subway and other interesting […] areas. We found that the breakfast offered was typical, but the hotel ran out of various items (did not stock enough). So if you ate late you could not rely on there still being scrambled eggs, fresh fruit, butter, etc. Nevertheless, we do recommend the hotel and would stay there again. "Good value for the price."
Nice newer hotel. Parking is off site, the rooms are a bit small but there are very nice common areas to relax in. Some of the rooms have shared balconies which should be mentioned before the room is issued....not too much of a problem but the rooms don't have A/C so you could get stuck sharing with a smoker.Genuine Expedia guest review

Great place. Seemed new (2012). Clean. Bright. Sunny. Helpful staff. Good location. Spacious common areas. Good breakfast - rolls, toast, juice, coffee, fruit, cheese, ham, eggs, yogurt. An oasis in an otherwise seedy part of town, Bella Vista.Genuine Expedia guest review

Did not know what to expect staying in Santiago for first time. Was pleasantly suprised with hotel and staff. Breakfast in the morning was adequate. "Would stay here again!"
Hotel Loreto opened only a few months ago, hence everything is clean, modern and comfortable. The location can't be beat - Bellavista restaurants and nightlife just around a few blocks away and several places in downtown Santiago are only a 15-20 min. walk. The standard rooms, incl. bathrooms (w/ shower) are very small. It was cleaned every day and […] fit our needs, since we spent most of the time in the city and or the common areas (see below). If you are looking for a generous space with a desk, jacuzzi tub etc., the standard room is not for you. The common areas are top notch - roof deck, lounge area with several laptops, bar (serves food which we never tried), outdoor area, spacious breakfast room. Breakfast was plentiful (bread, toast, fruit, juice, coffee/tea, jam, cheese, ham). We were only a little bit confused by the scrambled eggs which were warm but completely undercooked - we might have missed a local delicacy there.... Cable TV, room safe and free WiFi is available throughout. They offer a laundry service which can be helpful but it was a bit pricy. The staff is professional and helpful. "Hotel Loreto, Spring 2012"
Friendly and helpful personnel. Specially Mrs. Loreto (same name as hotel) helped us go by underground to Concha y Toro vinery, one third of a TURISTIK bus price. Avoid using TURISTIK, they always overbook and leave you waiting (give excuses and offer a 10% discount for the next day!). - Hotel room: Nice WiFi, but they charge even local phone calls. […] Good beds and TV, but very small bathroom. You don't hear your neighbors, but no double windows and there is a lot of street noise. - No elevator. - No AC. With 30C we had to open windows and hear the noise. They gave us a fan, but it wasn't enough the first days. Imagine summer! - Low quality buffet breakfast. Coffee is really bad in Chile, but it is dreadful in this hotel. Get used to tea bags. - Neighborhood is not nice unless you walk ten minutes away from the hotel. The underground "Bellas artes" is also ten minutes away. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
