Ester was a superb hostess. Easy 15-20 min. Walk to most sites. Eateries and markets closeby. Didn't eat optional breakfasts there , but they looked good. Neighborhood is quiet with some lovely mansions. Tip: Take correct bus in right direction to hostal (1.3 Euros). Pretty art and lamps in lobby. 1-3 flights of stairs to rooms. Plenty of hot water […] after 1 to 2 mins. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Very cute hotel located just outside of the main city. Room was clean and comfortable. AC would have been nice. Staff was friendly and offered good recommendations for sites/restaurants in the city. Was a little long walk to some sites in the city. Overall, great stay. Would stay again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
This hotel is in a quiet, pretty neighbourhood but only a short distance from the city centre and all of the local restaurants and tourist attractions, however just be aware that it is a good thirty minute walk from the bus/train station, although there are lots of buses to this area. I wouldn't really consider this to be a hotel but rather a guesthouse. […] The rooms are nicely decorated and the public areas are very relaxing and it has general laid back vibe. My only complaint would be that the girl on reception was not particularly welcoming and on two occasions I had to stand around waiting while she carried on a telephone conversation. Other than that though it was a really nice place to stay and I would highly recommend it for those on a budget. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Hunt The Hotel!"
We know Malaga a lot better since we spent over 2 hours trying to locate the Hotel Villa Alicia in the dark! lt was extremely difficult to find it without a Malaga street map; but even once we'd got to the right street, this is so long with very similar-looking properties all along both sides, it was still really hard to find the right Villa (about […] midway.) We were extremely lucky to get a parking spot almost opposite but if that hadn't been available it could easily have been another half-an-hour before we got settled in! lt was a very attractively-decorated hotel & despite the late hour of our eventual arrival, we found a really nice little bar close by with some equally nice food available; our room was pleasant with an extremely comfortable bed - don't think l've ever fallen asleep quite so quickly! Breakfast was very nice & l was lucky enough to get their last egg.. The couple in charge were very friendly. My only advice would be not to attempt to find the hotel without a street map - especially in the dark!

"Cosy little place in Málaga"
The hotel is located very central, and it can be hard to find a parking spot nearby. You really don't need to bring a car though, as most of the town is within walking distance. Rooms are clean and cosy, and the superior rooms are really nice. The staff is friendly and give great service, though they can be hard to get a hold of.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Servicio y ubicación estupendos"
Limpio. Servicio estupendo, muy majos. Único inconveniente: la cama supletoria estaba medio rota.
In zentrumsnaher Lage gelegenes recht günstiges kleines Guesthouse.

"Nice location and good room, but where's the staff"
We slept 2 nights here, really good location - 5 minutes walk from the center of town, beautiful and quiet area with amazing houses. The staff was pretty much absent from the hotel, when we came there we had to wait for 15 minutes until the cleaning staff came to open the gate. She didn't speak any English so it was difficult to understand what's happening. […] But apart from that it's a good place and definitely worth the money! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Nice villa in quiet neighborhood"
07/05/14 Usman K Stockholm, Sweden
We took a bus from malaga airport to the property which took us about 50 mins and one change. The villa is in a quiet neighborhood and was itself nicely decorated from inside. We were given double bed room on 2nd floor. There was no elevator but stairs were beautifully decorated with many plants. The room had cupboard, small LCD TV, table/chair. The attached bathhroom was small but very clean. The villa is 10min walk to Plaza de la Marced (where there are many place to eat), 5 mins from Plaza le Marced to Alcazaba (which has free entry on Sunday) and 5 mins from Alcazaba entrance to Malaga Cathedral and Picaso museum (free after 6pm). From cathedral, Calle Marquese is just few minutes away which is main shopping street. IMHO> One to one and half day is enough to visit Malaga
"Very welcoming house"
06/20/14 K N Itala, Italy
Staying in Villa Ailicia gives you the feeling to briefly really live Málaga, you immediately feel at home. Friendly, uncomplicated welcome by the hostess. Nicely decorated house. Very pleasant to have breakfast outside. Only two small remarks ... I think we had room 9, it would be good to somehow fix the back of the bed to the wall, as it makes a lot of noise every time someone moves in bed, causing many wake ups during the night. Second small remark, I personnally feel much more comfortable with white instead of coloured towels. I have no doubt the towels where clean, but white, even though more boring, gives a better hygienic feeling. This B&B is defenitely recommendable!
"Our visit experience"

I would like to share my experiences that my husband and I had during our stay in Villa Alicia Guest house in Malaga, Spain. This is an older house but well maintained and comfortable. You can use the kitchen to do your own cooking if you don't want to eat out. The 2 sisters Ava and Esther are very helpful. Ava even helped me carry my luggage up to the third floor to our room. The room is not big but enough, no air con, but it cools down a lot after sunset. We even needed a blanket to sleep. They were willing to store our 2 carry on luggage for a few days while we headed to another city before returning back there to stay for 2 more nights. The location is great, just a 15 minute walk to the tourist attractions, Alcazaba ,Coracha, Gibraifaro, Basilica of Santa Maria Victoria and the new port (good restaurant). 5 more minute walk will be at Cathedral Malaga. We just walked around to see most of the things that we planned to see. We highly recommend this place for a relaxing wonderful stay.
"Nice and cozy"
05/19/14 dirquito17 Antwerp, Belgium
Nice and cozy place, in a quiet residential neighbourhoud close to Malaga's city centre. The room was very clean, comfortable and nicely decorated. This is definitely good value for money. Regretfully, the wifi coverage was not very good.
"A curate's egg"
We booked into this place to begin our tour of Andalusia. We were pleased with it so booked a further two nights for the end of the trip. We received a warm welcome with helpful advice about the best way to get about the city. The accommodation was basic but clean and there was a kitchen for guests to use (we didn't). The hotel is in a quiet street a 10 - 15 minute walk from town. On our return, we were disappointed by the room that we'd been allocated. We wanted a private bathroom but in fact the facilities were simply behind a glass screen in the bedroom. Not every relationship is ready for the sharing of the sight, sounds and smells of the ablutions! For my part, I'd no more put a toilet in a bedroom than I would put a bed in a toilet. To be fair to the management they explained that they were full that night and they offered to change us over the following day, but we decided to live with it because we didn't want the fuss of packing, unpacking and packing again.
"Lived up to expectations"
04/11/14 Maya G Brighton, United Kingdom
I just got back from my stay at Villa Alicia in Malaga and it lived up to my expectations. I decided to stay here after reading good reviews and generally liking the look of the place, with its bohemian Moroccan style. Me and my mother stayed here for three nights and i think that was the right amount of time to stay. When we arrived we were quite surprised at having to wait for ten minutes to even be acknowledged (while two of the staff argued over some difficulty on the computer) However this was soon forgotten as soon as we were greeted because the staff were extremely helpful in helping us plan our stay. We had looked on trip advisor and found a few things we wanted to do and see and the staff helped locate all of these things on a map for us. We had a very authentic trip due to the good recommendations by the staff ,and managed to fit lots in. After the second day we realised how great the location of villa Alicia really is. Located in the old part of the city just 10 minutes away from the main square where all the good restaurants are and only a 20 minute walk from a very nice sandy beach, which was unexpected. The area is great also because it is thriving without being particularly touristy- and there were mostly locals sitting outside the restaurants etc. The hotel is very simple but very nice with outside seating where you can eat your breakfast, also very simple. There is also a fully equipped kitchen that you can use but the restaurants and cafe's in the area are so lovely and so reasonable you probably wont even need to use it!! Didn't come across any accommodation/area that i would recommend more than here!

Only stayed one night, ensuite room, very comfortable bed, clean, nicely decorated. Tasty continental type breakfast, friendly staff. Short walk to town centre. Would stay again if flying into Malaga.

What a splendid place! Excellent hosts, beautifully furnished . The beach and downtown is only a stroll away. Yummy breakfast for a very low price. The Alicia Guesthouse is definetly worth returning. I cant stop saying nice things about it! Ad the beds - sooo comfy you dont want to get up. All rooms are nice, its even a good choice to stay in one of the rooms wih shared bathrooms. Ah...I love it!!
"Calm and peaceful"

I stayed in this guest house last year during the Christmas season. It was really lovely. The location is ideal and it is easy to walk anywhere. You can walk easily to the sea, into a forest area or into town. It's also very easy to get to the airport. Also, the house itself is stunning. The rooms were well maintained and clean, as well as the shared kitchen. It was beautiful eating lunch on the balcony in the sunshine. The staff were really helpful. I highly recommend staying here.
"Unique Stay in Malaga"
My girlfriend and I spent 5 nights at Villa Alicia in August 2013. The guesthouse has a great independent feel, with a quirky reception area. We stayed in two different rooms, one with a shared bathroom and one en-suite. Both rooms were great and were decorated in a Spanish style with a modern-unique twist. The shared bathroom was every clean and as it was shared with only a very small number of rooms (3 I think) we never had to wait to use it. The en-suite bathroom was huge. The kitchen was kept very clean by guests and staff and we enjoyed cooking in there on a couple of evenings. The Villa benefits from a great terrace at the front of the property where you can eat, drink, read and just generally chill out. The Villa is a ten minute walk from the centre and twenty minute walk from Malaga's main beach and the staff were very friendly.
