Hotel Du Touring - Saint-Cere

Wonderful, attentive young couple running a B & B with the evening meal option in a true French Dordogne country-side environment. Would stay again in a nano-second. James and Jennifer are to be commended for their attempts to retain the environment and essence of the atmosphere of this particular countryside. They provided day trip suggestions, local insights and most of all their time to respectfully talk (English) to us. Our thanks to them for a memorable three-day visit with them. Truly a highlight of our time in France.

The staff at this hotel was wonderful. I was on crutches the day we arrived. The manager himself came to the train station in the rain to pick us up. The staff was very friendly.

I was looking for a hotel in Souillac, and this hotel came up as nearby. I had not taken the time to look at the area or do any reading--this was a spur of the moment trip. The hotel location is amazing, right on the side of the hill outside Rocamadour. The location is amazingly beautiful. In terms of visiting the cave paintings, canoeing in the Dordogne, it's a little bit of a drive. But, we were not in a hurry and really enjoyed traveling through the countryside. The room was simple, but all we needed. The bed was a little hard, and that's why I give it a 3 for comfort. But, I would highly recommend staying here to anyone who wants a reasonable rate, a beautiful location, wonderful hosts at the hotel and this general location.

Hotel had clean rooms and free parking and an elevator. It did not have working wifi in rooms and the business center also did not have working wifi. Food was good, big breakfasts but way too pricey. Go around the corner to the Europa Hotel for a wonderful meal. Can't sit up in bed to read...the beds move across the floor when you lean against the headboard. There are not many places to eat in Figeac -- that was disappointing.
