"A true paradise for sports fanatics"
The tag line of Thanyapura is "train in Paradise" so as a sports fanatic I was coming to thanyapura with high expectations. The experience we had over there was absolutely fantastic. Thanyapura is like a hidden paradise for sports fanatic. It offers world-class sports facilities and you feel inspired training amongst professional athletes but you can […] also enjoy the very peaceful environment of the place. My girlfriend is not Sport mad like me but still, she didn't want to leave neither. Besides the wow sport factor, the services was great, the food at Divine restaurant was amazing and the Sport Hotel was very enjoyable. Also, the place was not packed so we really felt like being in a world-class exclusive country club. Prices are higher than the typical Thai resort however it's totally reasonable for the level of experience you will get. We can't wait to go back there and hopefully for longer this time... "I want to go back"
Amazing place to stay if you want to escape the craziness of Patong and the tourist beaches. The food is delicious and the staff exceptional. The sports facilities are superb too. We even got to see the Dutch national swimming team train. Thoroughly recommended!Genuine Expedia guest review

Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place for holiday and training"

The hotel room was great and the sporting facilities incredible. The staff were helpful and friendly. I had a full board package which allowed buffet dining for breakfast, lunch and dinner. The resort is away from Phuket's towns and beaches. If you are looking for a beach or party holiday this is not the place for you. I will definitely be going back!
"Amazing/Good and needs work"

I really have so much to say...our 2nd time here...so am going to break this into 3 categories: Amazing/Good and needs work: Amazing: The facilities...tennis/pool/fitness center are all VERY much above average/fitness classes( there are 4-7 per day) run well...VERY good/food quality....VERY good.....the tennis pro and his team are top notch.....the attendants in the fitness are helpful.... Good: The hotel rooms are solid 4 star...TV good...beds good....bathroom good....no clocks in room....spacious...location...tad remote..but 15-20 mins to everything...... needs work: general service is closer to 3 star( with a few shining stars).....organisation( feels like everything you do such as book a class/get a car/arrange stuff for kids) its the first time they have done it( which it isnt)....but in general its just closer to 3 star than 4.....hotel bar/lounge....poor service...no food....just kinda useless.....the coffee....only nescafe instant in the rooms...no tea/coffee at the hotel at all in the morning...only in the restaurant which is 200 meters away).....in general the facilities/classes are amazing but there is a disconnect...such as the new coffee shop....not really "healthy" food just a bunch of fried junk like donuts chocolate croissants...the menu in the restaurant is definetely solid but no real big salads or other "health food".....internet is good...rooms are probably 20-25% more than they should be
"Great place for sport and healthy trip"
12/03/14 nuttapolc Bangkok, Thailand
For my first time stay here, I can say that this hotel is not the most luxury hotel but it is a place which guarantee you a great fitness with complete facility for cycling, swimming and running. Occasionally, you will meet the professional sport teams come to have their training camp, then you and/or your child(ren) will get some sport inspiration like me. Moreover, there is a Phuket International Academy, which you can let your children grow up here with good environment. Location : Located not too far from Phuket International Airport (around 10km), but take some times to go for the Phuket cities.

Thanyapura combines Thai hospitality with one of the best if not the best sports facility center in South East Asia. It provides everything from an outdoor artificial soccer turf pitch, to beach volleyball and soccer over to indoor and outdoor tennis courts. The swimming pool is world class and the whole compound is set in a beautiful landscape in between rubber tree fields which makes bike rides an amazing experience away from all the traffic. Located very close to the airport it is very convenient even just for a shorter stay or as getaway. Truly enjoyed training next to professional athletes and everyone is very open minded and approachable. The hotels also offers a great Kid's club with very friendly staff to look after the kids, therefore very family friendly and easy to drop off the kids during one of the sport sessions.

Hospitality is great from the humble staff eager to meets your every need. Rooms are 4.5 star quality, but the service and amenities make it a 5. Get a package thst includes meals as the buffet is thai inspired goodness made with locally grown organic fruits and vegetables. The sports facilities are every athletes dream from the 50meter pool, to the professional track and futbol field, tennis courts, and spa. Your always bound to meet some famous professional athletes and olympic greats during your stay as they all train here. Access also to all kinds of classes from stretching and yoga to soinning and Muay Thai can be had here from world class trainers. Last, but not least, they are fortunate to have on campus a tibetian monk who will help your spirit greatly. This was my first trip to Thailand, but Thanyapura was a great base as you can get to anywhere from here. Close enough to the hot spots like Patong, but far enough away where you can rest and relax without the noise.

After one day here you will be thinking you wish you had booked for longer. I healthy oasis with everything you could want to either relax or get in some solid training. The staff are very friendly and accommodating. I will be back often.
"Perfect fit for fitness and wellness"
11/24/14 Nick C Cleveland, Ohio, United States
Thanyapura is an amazing resort with world class fitness and sporting facilities. Great getaway in a tropical climate where you can focus on self-improvement with everything health, wellness, and fitness related at your disposal. This is where Olympians and professional athletes train, and I can see why! You can get a fitness assessment, take instructional classes, and join groups for swims, runs, or bike rides. Learn sports science and nutrition facts, or just relax by yourself or at one of the yoga classes. Very stress-free environment away from the hustle and bustle of the city or commercialized beach resorts. The people and staff are very friendly and service oriented, and the environment is created to put you at ease. There are beds and chairs to lie down and relax all throughout the resort. It's a truly amazing and unique place. That said, don't be intimidated at all by the high profile of this place! The athletes are engaging and approachable, open to hang out or train with anyone who is interested. And, it's reasonably priced for what you get; including good food at the restaurant/buffet, even though I usually don't like buffets, this one is very good... Fresh, diverse and healthy. There are also juice bars, coffee, bars and small snack shops located throughout. Only thing lacking is in-room service ordering. Otherwise, staff is very accommodating. The wifi was good throughout the resort and rooms, so was able to get some work done, as well. Everything I want in travel either for holiday or any sort of getaway.
"Sport Training in Paradise"
I spent 9 days at Thanyapura in August for their first ever 'Supercamp' a week of high volume triathlon training. It was an all expenses package with 3 meals a day and accommodation included. The first thing worth mentioning is that the hotel rooms are really well designed and despite it being a sport hotel, my wife was also very impressed with the facilities available. If I have to give any feedback it was that after a week the food became a bit the same. Other than that, it is a great place to stay, especially if you are looking for somewhere to experience world class training.
"World class sport training centre"
11/13/14 John H Wellington, New Zealand
It’s an incredible place – the story is that it was built by a German millionaire who started with an International School and has added sports facilities, a leisure club and then the hotels. Clever way of finding many users for the facility. The facilities are well maintained as well as being high quality – some of the places I’ve been in tropical Asia are incredible when they first open but fall into disrepair tragically quickly but the maintenance programme here seems extremely professional. Like a sports club, there are very good gym facilities and lots of classes you can do (free of charge for residents) between camp sessions – we tried yoga of various sorts, Pilates and mind training but there’s also Zumba, kick boxing, spinning and stuff for the keen. For a small additional fee, Thanyapura run their own swimming, triathlon, track and tennis sessions through the week year-round. The track and tennis courts are amazing – 4 covered courts, which apparently have the same surface as the Rod Laver Arena (where they hold the Aussie Open). If it’s good enough for Maria Sharapova ..
