Hotel Vossius Vondelpark - Amsterdam

Across the street from the park! Good and bad with that...rooms that face it (my mother) said it was a bit noisy at 3am, we were in the 'Garden' rooms and slept great and didn't hear a thing...but had NO view. For what we wanted it was perfect. Affordable, clean, and good location.

For the lowish price we paid, this was a good deal overall given the great location near museums, the park and the Leidseplein. I have 3 issues with the room, and one with the paid wifi. 1) The entrance light to our room was nonfunctional. 2) The bug netting around the window is velcroed to the window frame; it was in a bit of a tangle and not actually […] properly covering the window when we arrived. Furthermore, it would block the ability to open the window; presumably you detach it from the bottom, open the window, and reattach, but whoever did that before us did a horrible job at it. Fortunately the weather was cool when we visited in early October. 3) The washroom sinks are maybe 6 inches long; the faucet head extends outwards over half that distance, so you have to move it to one side in order to try washing your face. But the little shelf above it is quite low, so you run the risk of hitting your head a lot while doing so. It sort of felt like the CNL train sinks - quite cramped. 4) Paid for an hour of mostly nonfunctional wifi (you order an amount from the front desk and they print you a login & password). Maybe a page loaded before things started hanging, which was frustrating. They do have a single PC in the lobby you can use for free, but expect to wait to use it given the other guests present. We really enjoy our stay and it is mainly because it have everything we need for one night stay: clean and hot water shower, but have to be careful where you put the shower head as their is no shower curtain and have only one third of glass to prevent water from leeking. It have a tv (we did not use), safe, a kettle and only two teas and coffee packets. […] no toothpaste, but their is shower gel and liquid to wash your hand. It is clean and in the right size for us. The room look new as well and it is warm and comfortable. The wall is thin though so you can hear sound from people outside. There is a lift here and the staff is nice enought to get job that need to be done however if you need or want anything you have to ask them they also speak english well. Overall we really enjoy it as it is right next to the vondelpark but from the city centre to here by foot is a bit of a walk( it is a lovely walk though the two shopping road) so if it is your first time in Amsterdam I think it maybe useful to the tram to get to the hotel. I wish I could take that bed back home with me!!!! The staff were friendly and the place was clean. Only complaint is room service cleaning adjacent rooms and waking you up in the morning when you are trying to sleep in.

Really like this hotel, good location near Vondelpark. Some of the reviews say that the rooms are quite small but mine was fine (207) and very good for the price. Läget bredvid vonderlpark var perfekt. Nära parker, sevärdheter och cafeer. Tog ca: 30 min att gå från centralstationen till hotellet (15 min med taxi). Definetely location is the best advantage of that hotel. Close to Leidseplein with many bars and restaurants. Close to Van Gogh Museum and Rijksmuseum (everything 5 minutes by walk). Rezervasyon yaparken fiyatından dolayı küçük oda tercih etmiştim. Oda gerçekten çok küçüktü ama ihitiyaçlarıma cevap veriyordu, oda ve banyo çok temizdi. Läget är mycket bra med närhet till bland annat flygbussen, Vondelpark och Museumplein. Hotellet är fräscht och känns nyrenoverat. Mycket har satsats på design. Frukostmatsalen var trång. Wifi kostar 5€, men hade bra prestanda.

De ligging van het hotel was prima,.....maar we werden voor EUR 180,- per nacht naar een kamer in een container in de tuin "verbannen". In de badkamer hing een wastafeltje van een formaat dat je normaliter op een toilet verwacht en de ruimte tussen deze "wastafel" en het toilet was niet veel groter dan een postzegel. Lage des Hotels ist direkt im Museumsquartier, nur einige Gehminuten vom Rijksmuseum entfernt; somit etwas außerdam des Zentrums. Dieses ist jedoch gut per Fuß oder per Straßenbahn zu erreichen (je nach Laufgeschwindigkeit 20-30 min.). Die Sauberkeit des Zimmers ließ zu wünschen übrig; auf Anfrage reagierte das Personal.Zimmer war ruhig, zum Innenhof […] gelegen. Service hängt von dem Rezeptionisten ab. Hotel ist gut ausgestattet: TV, iPod-Dockstation, Telefon, Safe, Teeset im Zimmer, generell im modernen Design. Frühstück: in Ordnung, Warmes, wie Ei oder Würstchen, könnten noch angeboten werden. Keurig hotel in een rustige buurt. Kleine kamers, maar geen probleem als je alleen maar hoeft te slapen. Het bed lag prima. Prijs/ kwaliteit verhouding erg goed,dicht bij centrum en musea,ontbijt was erg goed voor dit geld. Het enige minpuntje tochtstrips op de kamer bij het raam zijn aan vervanging toe.wij gaan hier volgende keer zeker terug naar toe.

Hotellet ligger fantastisk - tæt på centrum, nabo til byens bedste park og væk fra trafikkerede veje. Vi havde en fantastisk forlænget weekend i byen og hotellet gjorde sit til, at vi sna´rt kommer tilbage. Godt serviceniveau, rene værelser. Eneste minus er meget trang plads til morgenmad og meget små badeværelser.

Vossius Vondelpark har många fördelar: nära till spårvagnar och innerstadsbussar, nära till buss 197 som tar dig till och från flygplatsen, nära till de stora museerna och nära till brygga för kanalsightseeing-båtarna. Hotellet har en mycket god frukostbuffé som du definitivt bör ta som tillval i samband med rumsbokningen. Städningen sköts mycket bra, […] trots att utrymmena i rum och korridorer är minimala. Rummen är trånga men i Amsterdam trängs många invånare på liten yta, så det är nog svårt att undvika trängseln. Det enda negativa var följande incident: Vid bokningen uppgav vi att vi inte ville ha rum på bottenvåningen. Detta hade receptionen missat och bokat rum på nedre botten. Efter påpekande om detta fick vi byta rum nästa dag. Undvik att boka rum i den s k trädgården. Då hamnar du i en trist barack i hotellets bakgård. Annars är vårt helhetsintryck mycket gott. I stayed here for 2 nights with my girlfriend. As all hotels in the centre of Amsterdam, the room was small - especially the bathroom. But it was in a perfect condition and very clean. The staff is kind. Our room was in the "back yard" and was very silent in the night. The location is good. Everything is in walking distance. Very nice hotel and friendly staff. Small but convenient room, even though you couldn't take a shower without the water being all around the bathroom. Location was great next to Vondelpark and Leidseplein's nightlife.

Flott nabolag, men litt i ytterkant av byen synes jeg og mine tre barn på 15, 17 og 21. Vi måtte gå et stykke hver gang vi skulle vgprde. Knøttlite bad som ble veldig vått da vi dusjet! Bra frokos, men harde rundstykker om du ikke kom da de var helt ferske. Ingenting åutsette påvrenhold. Rommet var nyoppusset og flott, moderne!

Mange gamle og slitne hoteller i Amsterdam, Men dette var nytt, rent og fint hotell rett ved Vondelpark og nære Leidseplein, rene laken, rent bad, rent alt. Stille og rolig i gaten utenfor, Ikke la bildet av trappen skremme deg, det er heis der :) anbefales.
