Lovely big room with comfy bed, quiet on the whole although there are bins right at the bottom end of the road which are emptied at 6.40 am on weekday mornings. This did wake me up but this is not a complaint. I was very happy to have stayed there. The rooms at the back may be quieter. The location of the hotel for me was fantastic. I liked the Oltarno, it is quieter and less busy which I like. There are some fantastic restaurants and a great wine bar around the corner. People sit out at night in front of the Pitti Palace.
The breakfast is simple, croissants, cake, coffee, tea, to help yourself to.

Awesome B&B within walking distance to all sights and just off pitti piazza.
Rooms very clean, shared bathroom spotless, great hospitality.
Large rooms, communal kitchen, dinning, lounge area that is great if you want to do some self catering. Help yourself breakfast with cereals, croissant a and coffee machine. Very quiet, other than the church bells that you would hear from anywhere!
Plenty of restaurants close by......gustavs pizza and trattoria just down the road.
Couldn't fault anything about it and would definitely return.

I stayed at Pitti Living for 3 nights (at a price of €59/night) in September 2013. My boyfriend and I were drawn to Pitti living as it stated that it included breakfast... however, the breakfast itself was disappointing and was only replenished when I specifically requested it. When I asked for more breakfast (2 croissants for 2 people is not acceptable for 3 days...) the guy at reception seemed confused/ wasn't sure where to get more breakfast from, but magically appeared 5 minutes later with 2 more stale, mini croissants and too many packets of Jam (must've been a 5:1 jam to croissant ratio...). For this reason I have given Pitti living a poor rating.
The breakfast was two stale individually wrapped croissants, a cake, jam and tea bags (we were not given a kettle, I wonder if we were supposed to eat the tea bags). The apartment itself was great - spacious (although smelt a little damp) and included a kitchen. We would have liked to cook ourselves to keep costs down, but when I asked if there were any cooking utensils I was met with a blank look from a member of staff. The shared bathroom situation is fine - we never saw any of the other guests/ needed to queue for the bathroom. Please note that housekeeping doesn't seem to be included in the price.
We arrived at exactly the time we indicated on the booking form, so somebody was waiting for us when we arrived and let us in. When we checked in the guy had limited English but was friendly - he pointed out a number of attractions and recommended restaurants on a map. I have put the service as poor, as it was incredibly difficult to hunt anyone down, as staff are only on site when someone is checking in/checking out.
The location cannot be faulted - literally opposite Pitti palace - about a 5 minute walk from The Ponte Vecchio (Historic Old Bridge) and a maximum of 10 minutes from all other attractions in Florence.
We were very happy with our stay. Our room was on the first floor with a little terrace on which we could eat our rather disappointing breakfast. The bathroom was across from our room. It was not shared, just not one ted to our room. It was no big deal. We were eaten alive by Mosquitos one night but otherwise we felt it was a lucky last minute find. We did help another couple who could not get in contact with the owners. In the end they slept in the reception area and used our bathroom. Not impressed that they couldn't get in touch with the owners but relieved that we were able to help them.
No one was available to greet us, worse yet, when we phoned and no one answered. We waited for an hour from our specified arrival time and when another couple arrived also with a set arrival time, and again no one to greet them, we started to get worried. We had the helpful neighbours immediately next door to the B&B also phone to no avail. Funny thing is, this business owner was sitting at his empty storefront takeout restaurant, 3-4 doors down, watching us for an hour with our suitcases on the street, and didn't think to call. He just did not care as he watched us fuss with other people and storeowners trying to get a hold of the B&B owner. We found out that he had a direct number in which to call but did not care one bit. It was another neighbour that arrived later that told us to ask him to call as he knows the owner of the B&B well and has a direct phone number, which allowed us to finally get greeted. We had a young fellow greet us and gave us the keys without any personal care or attention. PS And no apology either!
The B&B has a shared bathrom and privacy with respect to the rooms was not much better that a dorm or hostel. The room was not quite up to my standard with respect to cleanliness but it passed for the one night that we stayed. The breakast was pathetic... no more needs to be said on this aspect.
Certainly the glossy pictures on the website make it look”great” but pictures can be deceiving. We stayed for 9 nights in Italy during our trip and had wonderful accommodations except for this stay in Florence being by far the worst experience for us while in Italy.
I can not figure out why it has such high reviews???
We rented the whole apartment and we LOVED it! The apartment was clean, comfortable and feels like "home!" It is also very spacious (even for 6 people). The 3 bedrooms are large and we really appreciated having an espresso machine in the kitchen! We were given a map and some helpful tips (nearby grocery store, restaurants, etc.). The location is GREAT!! It's just across from the Pitti Palace (great museum, by the way). Short, short walk to Ponte Vecchio. Very walkable from the apartment to the Duomo, Santa Croce, or the Accademia (for Statue of David). The entire booking, check-in, and check-out process was easy and smooth. We would definitely stay here again if we are back in Florence.
This well-located three-bedroom apartment might be a good choice for a group or family. But if you take only one of the rooms, you end up sharing bathrooms and living space with strangers. The "private" bathroom is not connected to the bedroom and is private only if you choose to keep it locked when it is not in use. When we were there this week, the washing machine and the stove were both out of service and some of the electrical outlets were not working. "Breakfast" is fruit and prefab plastic-wrapped pastries. The people were very helpful, the location is terrific, but if you want privacy or basic services you might look elsewhere.
For the price there are almost no grounds to complain except I was unaware that all rooms shared the same bathroom !
Breakfast was non existent or at least beat avoided.
Friendly enough welcome .
If you are on a tight budget this is place is fine.
Very central, clean, spacious. We had the run of the appartment and were able to check in early and leave our bags the next day thanks to our fab hosts. You will be blown away at this old building with a modern twist.
I kind of dont want to write this review through pure selfishness because I know that I will be coming back to it and that it was sk perfect when we stayed a few weeks ago that I dont want a sudden influx of people to ruin it. Anyway due to its amazingness it deserves its glowing review. First impressions when you wander down a tiny little side street were blown away by the homely welcome and interiors awaiting.
Located perfectly in the centre of Florence with the most homely feel. I can bet you any money that you won't be able to find a nicer more idillic place for your trip. Honestly this place is perfect.
This was our favourite place we stayed at during our trip to Italy (and we stayed at 5 places!)
The location was excellent, everything was in walking distance and this also meant we could return to our room when it got too hot during the day/we got too tired!
Pitti living was more of an apartment than b&b but this meant we had full roam of the nice kitchen and lounge area. Breakfast was self-service and laid out the night before, consisted of basic shop-bought croissants and dried biscuits with as much espresso and tea as you wished.
We only encountered the owners on check-in but they were friendly and offered us a useful map on arrival. The room was very nice; was rustic styled with a high ceiling, had a big TV, wifi and was very spacious. The shared bathroom was just opposite our room, very nice and sharing was generally not a problem.
Overall would definitely recommend for a comfortable, convenient trip to Florence and would definitely stay there again.
Great quality for a very resonable price 3-4 minutes walk from Ponte Vecchio & right outside Pallazzo Vecchio/Giardino Boboli. Pitti Living has the feel of both a B&B and an apartment, and to its credit - relaxed atmosphere, staff are helpful, friendly and polite, but with a light touch so that it feels more like a pied-a-terre tucked into a trendy part of the city. We were looking for the best experience of Florence without being drowned in throngs of other tourists, and the apartment and area offered both of these things, on the doorstep of all the old favourite Fiorentina locations and destinations. For a different kind of evening meal, we recommend getting a pizza from nearby Gusta Pizza & a bottle of wine and sitting on the steps of the lively Piazza de Santa Spirito to eat it. Magic.
We will definitely book again when we go back to Firenze.
