"My Kindle was stolen!"
I normally love Hampton Inns. However, the location in Astoria, Oregon was a huge disappointment when I discovered that my Kindle was stolen from my room. I called and spoke to management and they told me that their staff would never do anything like that. They told me they would look into it and get back to me. I haven't heard anything as of yet. Thank […] goodness I paid my bill with American Express because I refused to pay the hotel. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"Nice place to stay"
Good location, friendly staff. Its close to the water and the Goonies house. Good breakfast just need more seating and tables. Family had to sit outside on the curb to eat.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Enjoyed our stay. Sea lions have moved on. The sea side rooms have a balcony which is worth the $10 extra dollars.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Beautiful hotel right on the river"
From the second I walked through the doors of the hotel I knew how nice it was going to be. Casandra and Lindsey checked me in and it was great to talk to them and have them smile back at me. After traveling all the way across the country and then driving to Astoria it felt very comforting! The room was beautiful with a gorgeous view of the river. The […] balcony let you look up and down the river a good ways and just soak it all in. It was close enough to town that you could easily drive and be wherever you wanted to be within 2 minutes but far enough away that it was very quiet there. I was sad to have only stayed here for 1 night, but by far a must stay for anyone visiting Astoria! Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review

"A room on the river is great"
Only stayed one night, but the balcony room on the river was very nice. I would have liked to see some outdoor furniture to really have time to take it in with a cup of coffee. Overall, very nice hotel for the money and it was clean. No cost for parking.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Love the location"
Great hotel-loved the walking path behind the hotel, right on the river. Watching the boats go by at night was nice. Clerk sent us to the local brewery, which we loved.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Lovely walk way in front of Hotel."
It was a wonderful. Walking distance to Rouge pub. Great beds and a Beautiful walk way right in front of hotel. Pizza place across the street. Hot tub was hot! Nice... And the breakfast had many choices. We liked the oatmeal bar. Coffee was tasty and hot!Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Nice place. Interesting location. You need a car if you stay here. A little overpricedGenuine Hotels.com guest review
Clean, comfy, perfect. Great view. Breakfast was ok but free.Genuine Expedia guest review
It was very comfortable but the coffee maker didn't heat water and the radio/clock was set to alarm and there was literally no way to turn it off...I ended up unplugging it (at 6:25 in the morning).Genuine Expedia guest review
I was pleasantly surprised.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Exactly what we needed on our overnight stay at the end of the Lewis and Clark Trail. BONUS: There is a great Rogue Brewery pub just a two minute walk away!Genuine Hotels.com guest review

"Sea Lion Serenade ALL NIGHT LONG!!!!!!!"
Wanting a romantic stay during the Crab, Wine and Seafood Festival weekend we reserved a room with an outside deck with a view of the river. Bad mistake! The sea lions were so loud we couldn't stay on the deck for very long, nor did we have a good night sleep because of the noise. The hotel is nice, but the outside noise was disappointing.Genuine Expedia guest review
"A good place to stay for a quick bit of R and R."
Enjoyable, good view of river and enjoyed sea lions and their antics. Also view of ships waiting to go upriver was of interest.Genuine Expedia guest review
"One of the newer hotels, but far from downtown"
Be forewarned, if you do not have a vehicle to go places in, you really shouldn't book this hotel since it is located in the outskirts of Astoria, next to Safeway. But otherwise, if driving is not a big deal for you, this is one of the nicer hotels within the vicinity. I ended up booking a room facing the Columbia River, but be forewarned - the sea […] lions are quite noisy at all hours of the day. (There are two pods of them along the bridges). The room that I stayed in was almost brand room and still had that new construction smell even after spending two days in there. The friendliness of the front desk and the employees were just wonderful. They gave us great tips on where to eat and where to visit. The breakfast bar was really nice and had many choices and was hearty. I would definitely stay here again when I'm in the area. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My father said it was the best Hampton he has ever stayed at and he's been many. I was stunned by the attentive service, particularly at breakfast. The scrambled eggs were the best milk carton eggs my wife and I have ever tasted.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"started off great, ended disappointed"
Hotel is beautiful, only 2 years old. Sea lions cool, but very loud, earplugs DO NOT work, but we got past this. Staff was very welcoming, we were there during spring break. Our last night there we had horrendously, obnoxious neighbors across the hall & called down to front desk at 330am, still loud voices and doors banging for the next 2 hours. I confronted […] them myself, young folk who could've cared less. I went down to front desk at 530am to discuss situation, was told that she had spoken to them, but they wouldn't listen to her, so basically she did nothing else about it. She was the ONLY employee in the hotel for the graveyard audit shift & this greatly concerns me for safety reasons, especially during spring break. We spoke with supervisor who came in at 7am who pretty much dismissed us,,,,We called & spoke with their general mgr, who knew nothing of what had happened 4 days later and he has not called us back as promised. We are passing this on to others as we do not feel that staff had this hotel under control and unfortunately we would never stay there again or suggest it to others for this reason. "Luxury accommodations for below luxury price"
This hotel was a great bargain. It's one of the newer hotels In Astoria so it still has a high quality feel at a reasonable price. The staff was very helpful and made sure we knew about the noisy sea lions before assigning our room. This is a great location and conveniently located next to Rogue Ales Taproom for those beer lovers.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"VACATION Excellent choice of properties!"
We enjoyed a room facing the beautiful Columbia River. The seals barking at the rookery was a sound we quickly came to ignore unless we really focused on them. Oregon's rains did not disappoint us. We were able to walk out on our balcony to enjoy the river view, and the cool air felt and smelled incredible. We would certainly repeat our visit to this […] property! "Great hotel, but"
Very nice hotel and it was next to the Rogue Brewery. The only bad things was the large number of sea lions that were on the docks. Very noisy and they did not shut up. I would advise not getting a room facing the river.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
Loved the price, loved the location close to the pier and the Rogue alehouse, loved the warm greeting we received from the front desk staff - loved everything about it! It was a truly fantastic experience, and I would do it again in a heartbeat.Genuine Expedia guest review
The hotel is comfortable but the TV was horrible. Entertainment and TV system was subpar to rest of hotel standardsGenuine Expedia guest review
We loved the hotel, the room, and the sea lions! Slept with the balcony door open to hear them all-night-long! The breakfast was good but would have preferred meat eg. bacon/sausage instead of little ham pieces inside of the omelette. By the way, the mirror is the closet door; another guest had written there was no closet in the room - but there is! […] :-) Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
The building is almost new. Shower water temperature is set too low. I had to think twice before deciding I wanted a tepid shower. This is a deal breaker for me. I would not come back unless the water was warmer.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Excellent hotel, great views"
We really enjoyed this hotel. Perfect for a family vacation with excellent views of the Columbia River and close proximity to the Trolley and within a very short walk to the Rogue Brewpub. The pool and spa facilities are great - I really prefer the salt water swimming pools to the chlorinated ones. The breakfast is above average and the lady that assisted […] with the buffet ranks among the kindest hotel employees I have yet to encounter. She was so nice to my children - she was wonderful. "Everything you need"
We have stayed here now on 3 separate trips to Astoria, and find the accommodations excellent. Hotel and rooms are clean and tasteful, pool area is clean and well lit. Very comfortable stay. Our room was new and very clean and the balcony view was wonderful. Location was right off the highway but our room was very quiet. "Hotel on the outskirts of town"
Very nice, new, clean hotel. Breakfast buffet was very good. views of the river were not very awe inspiring and the Sea Lions were very noisy at all hours. Very difficult to find something to watch on the television due to the lack of a schedule in the room.Genuine Expedia guest review
We've stayed in Hampton Inn's all over North and Central America and they always live up to our expectations. The staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable and the amenities are perfect for our family. We loved our riverview room and enjoyed going for walks along the river right outside the hotel. The pool and jacuzzi were […] very clean and are always a hit with our kids. "Nice hotel on the water. nice landscape"
there were seals on the dock behind the hotel that were barking like crazy. very cool. about 150 of emGenuine Expedia guest review
We enjoyed the room and the availability of the walking path. It is close to the Rogue Restaurant but not so close to downtown. For a view of the river it is OK but impeded by some high docks, definitely worth the price. Staff was helpful and courteous. We would definitely consider staying here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The front desk staff was the most friendly I have ever met.Genuine Expedia guest review

"Very nice hotel."
We really enjoyed staying at the Hampton.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
The hotel was right on the river near some sea lions, it was amazing to wake up and go outside and see and hear them first thing in the morning. It's a beautiful location in Astoria. The room could have been cleaner as our sink was a bit dirty, but the comfort of the room, friendliness of the staff, and beautiful location made that up.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Quiet in the winter, close to downtown"
Room was clean. Had balcony with blacked out door glass. I found this wierd, instead of using a curtain or blinds to close at night. Made the room feel small and blocked the view of the river. Breakfast was nice. Bedding was clean, but the pillows hurt my neck. Heater/AC blew down our necks while sleeping: very bad placement of the unit.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Another Resort Motel in Astoria"
Love to go to Astoria and have been many times. Stayed in most motels, some more than once. Decided to stay in a new one, the Hampton Inn, for a couple of reasons. One, no animals allowed. If you have allergies like I do, this is a biggy. Two, check in is earlier than most. Three, all bedding is washed after each guest leaves. This is VERY good, and […] I know its rare. The accomodations met every expectations, it will be out motel of choice in Astoria. Great two night getaway ! Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"Great place to stay"
I would give the hotel all 5s except the food at breakfast was disappointing. We have eaten at a lot of Hampton Inns around the country and this one ranks at the bottom. Most of the hot offerings were dry and over heated/cooked. That is the only downside to our stay. The staff was very nice and efficient and the hotel condition was great. Liked the […] location, right on the town's river walk and with a great view from our river side room. We would go back again. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
My fiancé and I loved this hotel. Excellent customer service and our room was nicely cleaned and more up-to-date than others in the area. It's also across the street from the "Goonie" house! "Just sorry we couldn't stay longer"
The pictures shown in the summary are the very best rooms, we didn't go for the very best rooms. However, the bed was extremely comfortable and fixtures and fittings were all to a very high standard. The TV was decent quality and didn't go out of its way to try to push pay content. The shower was one of the best normal showers I have used in a hotel. […] The high speed Internet was decently fast and free. The location allows you to watch the ships going by on the Columbia river. "Balcony View and Sounds"
We loved hearing the sea lions outside of the balcony door. We had great views of the ships at anchor in the Columbia River. We were able to walk down the pier to our restaurant for dinner.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
We had a room with balcony over looking the river. It was very beautiful. The sea lions were singing away but we could not hear them when inside our room with the balcony door closed. Breakfast was good.Genuine Expedia guest review
