"Tulip of Amsterdam, a Blooming Flower of Comfort"
The Tulip of Amsterdam is centrally and conveniently located to the center of the city and all of the major sites we wanted to explore. We liked our room which had a collection of eclectic Dutch themed decor. Our host was friendly and accommodating. She was reliable and made us feel at home. We really appreciated the in-room food supplies and the breakfast room had an incredible variety of foods. We recommend the Tulip of Amsterdam without reservation.

We were bummed not to get to meet the owners but Nikki was great. Super cute place. Would've like air conditioning as it was so hot the day we were there. Would stay there again!

"Peaceful retreat in an urban center location"
The Tulip is conveniently located within walking distance (pulling a suitcase) from Central Station. It quickly became a retreat for me that provided a quiet and comfortable place to recharge. It is within walking distance of so many amazing parts of Amsterdam and is surrounded by good restaurants and shops. The hosts are the best part. They are warm and friendly and bend over backwards to make the time in Amsterdam rewarding and accessible. I am grateful to have found myself at the Tulip.

The welcome is as warm as the stairs are steep. Very colourful, good eye for detail in the rooms, great self-service breakfast--since only 2 rooms in the main house, almost like being at home. Unless there are 3 of you, not much reason to choose the larger of the 2 rooms. Near train station, about 30 min walk to the main museums.

"First trip to Europe"
This is the first B&B we've ever stayed in and we really enjoyed the house, our room, and our hosts. They were so, so helpful to us in figuring out where we wanted to go in the city and the local areas that were better and safer to visit. They went out of their way to accommodate us. The stairs are definitely narrow and steep. They added a lot of character to the history of the hone. (Although, I would never advise my 80 yr old parents to try to use them.). I highly recommend the Tulip of Amsterdam for its hospitality and location.

"Honeymoon"
We stayed at the Tulip B&B for three nights in August 2013 while in Holland on our honeymoon. The owners were on vacation but the people managing the B&B in their absense were very professional and helpful. We were extremely pleased with the room we had- comfortable bed, nice shower, quiet, spacious and nicely decorated. The coffee and breakfast items stocked in our room were appreciated, as was the bottle of wine that welcomed us. The Niewmarkt area immediately surrounding the B&B is very quaint. There was a great market with flower, fruit, vegetable and cheese vendors just outside our door as well as great cafes, restaurants and shops. It was convenient to the heart of the central city, but a few blocks off the main streets which was very nice! We would happily stay here again and would recommend to others!

"Great stay in Amsterdam"
Chris and David offer a warm personal welcome to Amsterdam, and a superb setting to enjoy this great city. Our room was charming and comfy. The self-serve breakfast is great; very generous and accommodates everyone's tastes. Tulip is much more like staying with caring friends who really want you to enjoy their home.

What a find! We really enjoyed our stay here, I have always stayed in hotels so was not sure what to expect from a b&b - we loved it!! the location is perfect for walking to all sites and areas and very easy to find from train station even at night. Our standard room was very nice, spacious and thoughtfully designed and spotless with a great coffee machine! The DIY breakfast was good and has everything you need, the hosts are extremely helpful. I am a very fussy person when it comes to hotels and do not give good comments unless they deserve it - this place deserves it! As with all traditional Amsterdam houses the stairs are extremely steep which was part of the charm for us but may be a problem for the less agile as the host's point out on there web site.

"Short stay in Hamsterjam"
Stayed for 3 nights with two teenage kids in the Studio Room. Great to stay in a traditional canal house in a great location. Staff very friendly and helpful. Only downside was the early morning wake up call from the fish deliveries next door but I guess if you're seeking local colour you have to take it in whatever form it comes.

"Would recommend..."
We are a young couple who stayed in the double room with ensuite. The room was well equipped and very clean. Breakfast snacks provided were appreciated and we were grateful to have most of the facilities to eat in the room. It is in a very central part of Amsterdam and you can walk pretty much everywhere (to all museums, places of interest etc). Bathroom was nicely renovated and had a good shower head. Bed was comfortable. The only complaint I could think of (and it is really nothing in the scheme of things) was that when people upstairs walked over our main light fixing it rattled!!! Maybe a new light fitting would solve that. We had a most pleasant stay and would definitely stay here again. The owners were friendly and we felt safe, happy and well looked after.

"Super B&B"
This is the best B&B I've ever stayed in! The quality of the room was superb, the friendliness of Chris was great and he done everything to make sure our stay was as comfortable as possible. The room was immaculate, as was the whole building. And location was great - just 10mins from Centraal Station and a stones-throw away from the Metro. Really superb place - can't recommend highly enough.

"A home away from home"
We had a very nice stay at the Tulip of Amsterdam B&B for 3 nights. We were met by Nikki who was all smiles and very helpful upon our arrival. She gave us a map of the city and came with suggestions of activities for us and answered all our practical questions. We were shown to our loft room on the top floor after climbing a very narrow, windy staircase. Here we found cold drinks and a bottle of wine waiting for us.The room was over 2 floors with a ladder that folded down from the ceiling. There was a bed up there for our daughter to sleep in, so we had some privacy below. Nikki, David and Chris helped us find good restaurants as well as a good hairdresser. They could not have been nicer nor more helpful. The breakfast room was cozy with a big selection of "help yourself" food and drinks, including fresh squeezed orange juice every morning.

A Lovely place to stay when visiting Amsterdam. Ideally located, so most places are within walking distance. The welcome is warm and please do check out the marketing director. My room was cute and I mean that in the nicest possible way...in short when visiting Amsterdam why not stay here instead of a hotel

"Charming B&B and wonderful owners"
06/30/15 Steve W Seaford, United Kingdom
It's been a long time since visiting Amsterdam and even longer since I've experienced such a genuinely warm welcome and fantastic service at a B&B thanks to David & Chris, the owners. They were always around to see if we needed anything for the room or information for sightseeing. It was the first time to Amsterdam for my wife and Tulip B&B couldn't have impressed her more. The house is one of the old, tall canalside houses with steep stairs. Oh dear! I hear you ask. Don't worry, Chris and David took our bags up upon arrival and down again 3 days later for departure. We booked a room with breakfast. The room was lovely and clean, well decorated in bright colours. Tea & Coffee maker and even a bottle of wine to welcome us. Breakfast was a self service with full open plan kitchen, fridge and hob etc. Everything from cereals, fresh fruit, bread and so on for a great Continental Breakfast plus all ingredients to make your own full English too. David and Chris are providing just about the perfect B & B. Don't miss it!!!!

"Great location Great place and Wonderful owners"

We just came back from Amsterdam where we stayed in the Tulip of Amsterdam B&B. We chose to stay there mostly because of the very good reviews that we read on Trip Advisor. The reviews proved to be true and then some! The location is very central and you find yourself in walking distance of every attraction and museum in Amsterdam. Although it's right in the middle of bustling city life, the street itself is very quiet-- no noise whatsoever. There are two rooms in this B&B and a kitchen on the first floor. Our room was on the top floor. It was very cozy, comfortable and spacious. We did have to climb the stairs, not many though and we never had to carry our luggage up or down as Chris or David are always there to do it for you. You don't even have to ask! There was a fridge, coffeemaker and a kettle in the room. There were also plenty of towels and everything else that you will need to take a shower like shampoo ,hair conditioner, and soap. Breakfasts included various types of bread, cheese, cold cuts, eggs, fruit, yogurt juice and the list goes on. Strawberries were in season and we had them for breakfast every day. There is a coffee machine in your room and in the kitchen and you can have as much coffee as you like all day long. They had over 8 different types of coffee. The B&B is great but what truly made our experience unique and unforgettable was the people who are running it. I can't say enough of how Chris, David and Nikki made us feel truly welcomed and at home. For that short period of time they make you feel part of their family. They genuinely care about you and your needs and make everything possible and sometime even more to make sure you are as comfortable as you can be. I just want to add on the personal note: Chris, you are an amazing person and I am very happy that I had a chance to meet you. Thank you and David for all that you've done for us. Our Amsterdam experience would've never been the same without you guys! If we return to Amsterdam there is no doubt in my mind where we will stay! So in conclusion I strongly recommend Tulip of Amsterdam B&B to anyone. It is a home away from home and your Amsterdam experience will not be complete without staying with Chris and David.

"Great B&B, watch out for the steep steps...."
06/16/15 NottinghamK1901 Nottingham
We stayed in the B&B at the beginning of June and we were welcomed by Chris who is a great guy. He gave us a map and recommended lots of places for us to visit and he gave us cards for the restaurant Café Piazza which is next door but one. The card entitles you to a free drink, and you can choose any drink off the menu which was great. He thankfully, took our cases up to our room which we are so pleased he did because the stairs are typical Dutch ones which are steep! Chris also made a reservation for me for dinner that evening which was really good of him. Both Chris and David are great hosts, they will do anything for you. Our room was the large Dutch one on the first floor and the room was spacious but we didn't realise how tiny the bathroom was. You couldn't get undressed in there, or dry yourself properly and it was a tight squeeze when brushing your teeth in the sink! So was disappointed with the lack of space in the bathroom, but they provided shampoo, conditioner, soap and hand cream, and a hair dryer and straighteners which I've never had in a room before. The windows in the room didn't all open fully and we needed them open because it was so warm. However, having the windows open meant mosquito's!!! I was bitten quite badly at night and I mentioned this to Nikki who also runs the B&B with Chris and David and she suggested spraying the room. But we didn't opt for this because my mum who was staying with me, has asthma and we didn't want to aggravate this. There was also a fan in the room which we welcomed because it was very warm when we were there. We didn't sleep great because the twin beds are small, they aren't a standard single bed, they are smaller and we could hear every movement of the people above us in the other room. I understand that this is usual because the houses are traditional Dutch ones which are old. It wasn't a massive issue but it's something to bear in mind because you will hear noises from above. We had a fridge with complimentary drinks, but our fridge wasn't re-stocked as some other reviewers have said. There was plenty of tea and coffee and if you ran short you could go to the breakfast room and help yourself to extra. We also had a bottle of wine on arrival and beautiful fresh flowers, and when we left we had a lovely box of chocolates. These finishing touches out weigh the odd negative issues we had. The breakfast room was fantastic. We had a range of fresh fruits, bread, yoghurts, meats and cheeses to choose from as well as cereals. You can cook up a feast in the kitchen! It was lovely. Chris was very insistent that we didn't attempt to wash up after ourselves, they sorted this out when we had finished. We went to a couple places that Chris recommended which was great, and both he and David are so helpful and friendly and always checking that you are OK and asking if you need anything. Lovely hosts......would recommend if staying in Amsterdam.

"Friendly B & B, Perfect Central Location"
05/25/15 Ted M Vancouver, Canada
Chose the Tulip for our 3 night stay in Amsterdam for its central location and favourable TA reviews. Booked on line with the B & B. We arrived at 9 AM and stored our luggage. Chris and David were excellent source of local info and off we went sightseeing until the 2 PM check-in time. Four of us booked the two large rooms in the main building and one smaller in the adjoining building. Rooms are good size and the kitchen was well stocked with food for the self serve breakfast (included with the large rooms). The stairwells are narrow and steep and bathrooms small as expected and fitted in heritage buildings like this one. The boys were great at lugging our suitcases up and down. Nice treat was a bottle of wine waiting in the room. Good linens and toiletries. We also received good advise on where to dine and David arranged reservations for us. In the centre of a noisy bustling city yet in our rooms there was zero street noise. We had an enjoyable stay rounded out by fast wi-fi and the friendly house kitty Loytje.

"Great Price. Great View. Luxurious Apartment. Convenient Location."

We stayed at the Jordaan View Apartment. It is not located within the Tulip B&B (but rather in the Jordaan neighborhood), but is related to the Tulip and can be booked through their website. The apartment was extremely clean, well furnished, with modern appliances. Coffee maker. Teapot. Stovetop. Dish washer. Refrigerator. Great bathroom. Great bedroom. Amazing view onto the canal. And a balcony in the back. This place is a real gem. It's also located 5 minutes away by foot from culinaire de werkplaats, a must-experience for food lovers while in Amsterdam. The proprieters Kienyip & John are extremely nice, trustworthy and accomodating. We also had a great experience with David from the Tulip. Kind, trustworthy, extremely accomodating. We will not hesitate to stay at either place the next time we are in Amsterdam.

My wife and I stayed in Tulip of Amsterdam 3 night and we can't say enough great things about it.Location is perfect. 2 min walk to Rembrandt museum and Red Light District, 5 to 25 min walk to all museums and attractions in Amsterdam. This B&B is cozy and very clean.Coffeemaker and refrigerator w/soft drinks in the room were pleasant additions to our beautiful room. The breakfast kitchen has everything you can think of. It is definitely not continental breakfast we used to in the US. Chris and David are absolutely wonderful, accommodating and extremely helpful hosts. We are really appreciate the care they took of us.

"Good location for a great accomodation"

I tried Tulips B&B during a business trip. This cozy and gracious b&b along the channel can boast of being in a super strategic position, well connected to the most attractive sites of the city and surrounded by pubs shops and restaurants, but also far from the noisy of the street. A few words are necessary to describe how pleased I was for Paul's welcome. He showed great flexibility for the term of the accomodation. When arrived, even if a bit late, he showed the room in every details, gave me a map, suggested good spots and offered a tasty welcome drinks. Super!

My wife and I have recently returned from a long weekend visit to this B and B. We were greeted by Nikki who gave us maps and a guide to the highlights of the City before showing us to our room on the top floor. Being a typical Dutch house the stairway was spiral and narrow. The room was towards the rear of the building and included an attic bedroom accessed via a drop down ladder. A complimentary bottle of wine along with beer and soft drinks were provided. Breakfast is very much a home from home help yourself affair. This guest house is centrally located and within walking distance of just about everything you would wish to see in Amsterdam. We would have no hesitation in returning to The Tulip and recommending it to others.

Great B&B stayed for two nights i would have happily stayed longer here. David and Chris are excellent hosts who were more than happy to answer any of my questions about Amsterdam. The B&B is situated in a really nice place as well next to the canal and coffee shops! The red light district is only one or two canals away and the to the dam center 5 min walk! Worth every Euro i would recommend staying here.
