"Tulip of Amsterdam, a Blooming Flower of Comfort"
The Tulip of Amsterdam is centrally and conveniently located to the center of the city and all of the major sites we wanted to explore. We liked our room which had a collection of eclectic Dutch themed decor. Our host was friendly and accommodating. She was reliable and made us feel at home. We really appreciated the in-room food supplies and the breakfast […] room had an incredible variety of foods. We recommend the Tulip of Amsterdam without reservation. "Great location. Great comforts like coffee, drinks"
We were bummed not to get to meet the owners but Nikki was great. Super cute place. Would've like air conditioning as it was so hot the day we were there. Would stay there again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Peaceful retreat in an urban center location"
The Tulip is conveniently located within walking distance (pulling a suitcase) from Central Station. It quickly became a retreat for me that provided a quiet and comfortable place to recharge. It is within walking distance of so many amazing parts of Amsterdam and is surrounded by good restaurants and shops. The hosts are the best part. They are warm […] and friendly and bend over backwards to make the time in Amsterdam rewarding and accessible. I am grateful to have found myself at the Tulip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"First trip to Europe"
This is the first B&B we've ever stayed in and we really enjoyed the house, our room, and our hosts. They were so, so helpful to us in figuring out where we wanted to go in the city and the local areas that were better and safer to visit. They went out of their way to accommodate us. The stairs are definitely narrow and steep. They added a lot of character […] to the history of the hone. (Although, I would never advise my 80 yr old parents to try to use them.). I highly recommend the Tulip of Amsterdam for its hospitality and location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay in Amsterdam"
Chris and David offer a warm personal welcome to Amsterdam, and a superb setting to enjoy this great city. Our room was charming and comfy. The self-serve breakfast is great; very generous and accommodates everyone's tastes. Tulip is much more like staying with caring friends who really want you to enjoy their home.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Lovely welcome from staff, very friendly and helpful. Comfortable room, and self service basic breakfastGenuine Expedia guest review
"Stay there, it's great!"
02/10/15 Hannah B Wirral, United Kingdom
We wanted somewhere quirky and unusual (but central) to stay for my birthday, and the Tulip of Amsterdam ticked all those boxes. It was a 9 min walk from the train station according to google maps, probably quicker than that once you know where you're going. On arrival, Chris showed us a map of Amsterdam and circled all the areas that may be of interest to us, which was really handy and we used it for the whole time we were there. We stayed in the studio apartment one night and the large double room for the other two (due to the heating being fixed in our room the first night). Both rooms were great - we had a bottle of red on our arrival and then a day later a box of chocolates, and a nespresso machine which they replenish the pods for every day. They supply hairdryer and straighteners which was so handy! The breakfast room is great, they leave you to your own devices and we were cooking our own pancakes on my birthday, lovely stuff. The stairs are steep, probably not the best place for someone with mobility problems, but like another review stated, it added to the charm of a 350 year old building in the centre of Amsterdam (as did Loytje the cat, who we are now facebook friends with...). The hotel is very central, we just walked everywhere which was great. Check out the bar straight across the canal, it has its own brewery and has some great beers. If I was forced to find a downside, when in the studio apartment, there is a rather noisy fish seller outside in the early morning that may disturb your lie in! Otherwise a lovely little place that we will definitely stay in again.
"Lovely B&B in a fantastic location"

We throroughly enjoyed our stay in Amsterdam and this B&B was in a wonderful spot to get around easily. The service we received was excellent. Chris gave us a lovely welcome and was on hand to help us with any queries we had during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. There was a lot of choice for breakfast, which you can help yourself to. As it's a small B&B, you actually cook it yourself (if you want anything hot). This was fine with us as you pretty much have the run of the kitchen. The B&B itself has lots of character as it's an old house. The only things to mention are that stairs up to the rooms are steep and the bathroom in the top floor room was small. But these features were all inkeeping with the charm of the building. Overall, it's a great choice for a city break in Amsterdam!
The staff makes you feel very welcome. They were helpfull and gave us good advices on the places to go to. The location is great, in the city center and 5 minutes walk from Centraal train station. We highly recommend this B&B to everyone.
"Great place to stay in the heart of Amsterdam"

We had a short three day break in Amsterdam and wanted to stay in the centre, this place was brilliant, Nikki was really welcoming and hospitable, the room was very quiet, clean and comfortable, we didn't have breakfast in our package but there was a kettle, coffee maker, lots of snacks and fruit and even a fridge with juice and yogurt in the room, we were surprised to have a bottle of wine on arrival, it's these things that really make the place feel personal and welcoming, I'd recommend it to anyone going to Amsterdam, anybody who complains about steep stairs should accept that this is just the way it is in Amsterdam, it's part of the charm along with the bikes and herbs.

Location is great. Owners are great. Clean and feel-like-at-home rooms. Breakfast is self-served, but all-you-need products are very fresh and always available. Nothing to complain at all. Recommended for everyone.
"We Loved this Place!"

This is a great place to stay. We stayed for 2 nights and we stayed on the first floor at the front looking out onto the Canal. It's in a great location, although it was a little noisy during the night as its opposite the start of the red light district so you do hear a few people singing and shouting but certainly nothing to put you off from staying here. The room was nice and clean and there was a few snacks in your room for breakfast, cereal. Milk, Bananas etc. The room was also large although the bathroom was a little small but certainly nothing to complain about. Definite recommendation, we loved this place!
"Lovely & charming"

I had an opportunity to stay at the Tulip for several nights with friends. It's very centrally located, just a few blocks from the train station, and we did all of our sightseeing in Amsterdam on foot. The B&B itself is low-key and in an historic building that faces a canal; the long narrow building that dates back to the 1600's, with it's steep winding staircases, and Dutch decor, added so much to our authentic experience of Amsterdam. The inn owners, David and Chris, were outstanding hosts and assisted us in booking tickets to local sights and events, gave thoughtful restaurant recommendations, and set up a delicious breakfast for us every morning - they were even sensitive to food allergies. It was truly a lovely experience, I highly recommend Tulip of Amsterdam.
"You must stay here if you're planning a trip to Amsterdam!"

Booked this b&b at the last minute and couldn't have been happier! Chris and Dave are excellent hosts and really made us feel welcome from the minute we walked through the door till the minute we reluctantly left. We were given and map of the city and asked where we wanted to go, which was then marked on the map for us (with tips of how best to get there etc). The room we stayed in was large, warm and beautifully furnished. Hot drinks available in the rooms which was a godsend in the middle of winter. The very old building itself is beautiful too, overlooking one of the many lovely canals and close to many of the must see attractions and brilliant bars. I really cannot recommend this b&b enough. It is very reasonably priced and the service is second to none. I can't wait to stay there again.
