"Tulip of Amsterdam, a Blooming Flower of Comfort"
The Tulip of Amsterdam is centrally and conveniently located to the center of the city and all of the major sites we wanted to explore. We liked our room which had a collection of eclectic Dutch themed decor. Our host was friendly and accommodating. She was reliable and made us feel at home. We really appreciated the in-room food supplies and the breakfast […] room had an incredible variety of foods. We recommend the Tulip of Amsterdam without reservation. "Great location. Great comforts like coffee, drinks"
We were bummed not to get to meet the owners but Nikki was great. Super cute place. Would've like air conditioning as it was so hot the day we were there. Would stay there again!Genuine Expedia guest review
"Peaceful retreat in an urban center location"
The Tulip is conveniently located within walking distance (pulling a suitcase) from Central Station. It quickly became a retreat for me that provided a quiet and comfortable place to recharge. It is within walking distance of so many amazing parts of Amsterdam and is surrounded by good restaurants and shops. The hosts are the best part. They are warm […] and friendly and bend over backwards to make the time in Amsterdam rewarding and accessible. I am grateful to have found myself at the Tulip. Read moreGenuine Expedia guest review
"First trip to Europe"
This is the first B&B we've ever stayed in and we really enjoyed the house, our room, and our hosts. They were so, so helpful to us in figuring out where we wanted to go in the city and the local areas that were better and safer to visit. They went out of their way to accommodate us. The stairs are definitely narrow and steep. They added a lot of character […] to the history of the hone. (Although, I would never advise my 80 yr old parents to try to use them.). I highly recommend the Tulip of Amsterdam for its hospitality and location. Read moreGenuine Hotels.com guest review
"Great stay in Amsterdam"
Chris and David offer a warm personal welcome to Amsterdam, and a superb setting to enjoy this great city. Our room was charming and comfy. The self-serve breakfast is great; very generous and accommodates everyone's tastes. Tulip is much more like staying with caring friends who really want you to enjoy their home.Genuine Hotels.com guest review
"Good small B and B"
Lovely welcome from staff, very friendly and helpful. Comfortable room, and self service basic breakfastGenuine Expedia guest review
Thank you David and Chris for sharing your wonderful home with us. By far the best place I have stayed in amsterdam. Great Central location walking distance from just about everything shopping museums ect fabulous welcoming well kept rooms and the self service breakfast was great everything you need for a lovely breakfast, and I loved to be able to choose and cook exactly what I wanted. Sharing the kitchen with other guests was never a problem due to this hotel / B&B only offering a few rooms. I highly recommend a stay for a true taste of amsterdam.

"A wonderful haven in Amsterdam"

Spent a night here in October. The hotel is small and cozy and the owners running the business are extremely friendly and helpful. I had the top floor room with windows opening into three directions, no scenery from there though. The facilities included your own Nespresso machine which I appreciated a lot. The breakfast is wonderful - as you make it yourself!! You can choose from a huge variety of stuff and will definately eat too much :) The neighbourhood is cool with lots of restaurants and bars. Even though the instruction to the hotel was clear, I searched for it quite a while - remember to check this carefully in advance! And as some others also stated, the staircase is very difficult to climb with a big suitcase.

Tulip of Amsterdam is a very lovely place to stay when you visit Amsterdam. Except of being very close to the center and metro and everything was within walking distance, this hotel is the best choice if you want to feel like home! The owners Chris and David are very friendly, happy, warm people and they will make you feel very comfortable. The whole decoration of the building is very cosy and romantic. The room is which we stayed was quite big, with all the amenities, clean, comfy and with super WIFI connection. The breakfast room is also a happy-surprice! They offer everything you need for a breakfast AND you get the chance to male everything as you like, open the fridge as many times you want and make your own omellette as you like it, as you would do it your house without anyone bothering you. I totally recommend this place, it is a very pleasant experience to have. The only disadvantage of the building is the very narrow staircase but this is logical to find in an original Dutch house of past centuries. Nevertheless, the owners will help you with your luggage, so you don't have to worry about the stairs unless you have a physical difficulty.
"great location, great place"

Close proximity to several attractions. Rooms were beautiful, cozy and romantic. We got everything we need. Lovely hosts, David and Chris. They helped us all through out our trip, mapping the places we should see, restos/cafes we should try and shared stories and secrets of Amsterdam which made it more personal. One of our friend was traveling to Norway and she almost missed her trip. Chris helped her in checking her flight and terminal details and arranged the cab. She made it on time. Definitely, we will stay here again.
"There's no place like home..."

...but I can call David and Chris' B&B as my home. The place is very cozy, lovely, with a very high standard of service and cleanliness. Whenever I travel especially in a very far away place like Europe, I would always consider staying in an upscale but not overly priced place, and Tulip of Amsterdam B&B fits the description. The room I stayed is like shopping in Crate & Barrel or Restoration Hardware, the design and comfort I experienced was beyond my expectation. The breakfast provided was really sumptuous! David and Chris' were very accommodating and superb hosts! I love to eat, and I think what I liked the best was the breakfast part! I will surely go back, since it's my home, right?

This B&B was by far the best place I've ever stayed in Amsterdam (I go there quite often) and from the moment I've discovered this place I won't be going back to any other over-priced B&B ever again. The hosts were charming, flawless service, absolutely nothing to complain about. The place was spotlessly clean and tidy and I can't stress enough to mention the friendliest and helpful staff I've found in there. I strongly recommend the Tulip of Amsterdam as the location is just a walking distance from the city centre. Thanks a million to Chris and David and we'll surely see you soon! Cheers from Ireland!!

Not only the best city in the world but also the best B&B! We love the rooms, the breakfast, the location, the host and to top it all their cat is so adorable. We will definitely come back here. Highly recommended!
"Adequate, but would not stay here again."
11/19/14 Kay R Minneapolis, Minnesota
This B and B is not really a B and B as they do not provide breakfast, so they should be listed in another category. But we knew that going into it. Our room was up a huge staircase, very narrow and steep. So make sure you are in good shape to climb the stairs. Not a problem for us, but it might be for others. Our room was small and the furnishings had seen better days. The bed was very soft and not too comfortable. There were plenty of snacks available and a lovely box of chocolates left for us on our last night. The location was perfect. Close to all the sites. There is a bar or restaurant close by that plays music in the evening that was annoying. The price was steep but, that is Amsterdam. I would not stay here again. I would say that it needs a new coat of paint and new furnishings and fresh carpet on the stairs. It may have been quite nice when new, but it feels tired. We checked out a day early, to go to a more modern and up to date hotel. It was the last night of our 3 week trip and we wanted to end it with nice accommodations. We would have left sooner, but it is non-refundable. Never doing that again.

After a lengthy search for accommodations, the Tulip B&B turned out to be THE PERFECT place! David and Chris are excellent hosts and provide clean, charming and well priced rooms with all the amenities you could ever need in addition to all the great city information. The kitchen is stocked and breakfast options abound. Prime location within walking distance to Amsterdam Central. We will definitely be back. Thanks for making our stay so wonderful! Also, they have an app available with great recommendation for dining and sight seeing - very helpful!!
