i picked this hotel because of the good reviews and I have to say that it lived up to them. The food was decent and the room was great and the staff was very very nice!!! I would stay here again in a heartbeat.

A great base for a business trip in the local area - perfect for longer stays. Clean, comfortable, superb staff, excellent food and drinks and a excellent chance of sharing the lift with a famous football player, coach or referee. The Hampton Inn and the Hilton share the same bar and restaurants.

Overall, it's a fairly nice hotel in a good location. The rooms are nicely appointed and comfortable. My family (wife and two teenagers) were spending two nights in Nottingham for a meeting I had there, before going to London and Paris for a vacation. When we arrived, we found out that our rooms were not adjoining or side by side, even though we had clearly requested them to be, when we made our reservation a month before. They were finally able to move both to the same floor, but this should never have been an issue, and my wife was not pleased. They then asked how I would like to pay for the stay, even though we had prepaid through Hotels.com. Other than taking the room reservation notice from Hotels.com, they clearly do not read the customer requests or update the fact that the rooms are paid for, in their system. After a long flight, the last thing you're looking for is an issue at the hotel. They need to get their act together.

Good service and a great location. Friendly hosts and a good breakfast. We stopped in the Rudjard Kipling room which was clean and tidy with nice touches... such as pots of biscuits and sweets. Only two issues with the room was a shower that at times couldn't decide if it was hot or cold and big step up / down into the bathroom that may have caused difficulties for someone who was not steady on their feet. The actual location of the Hotel was chosen because of a family bereavement and there wasn't accommodation available and the Wheel House was local to the area we had to be.
