Lovely place. Will try to book again. we had guests for breakfast and paid a very reasonable price and let them know and they were wonderful. we had to eat at 5:30 am on check out day and we told them we wouldnt be there for breakfast and they insisted on leaving us milk in our refrig so we could at least have cereal and coffee before we left. Very thoughtful and accomodating. the bed was comfortable.

I have the best experience that you could have - staying here. The staff was ALWAYS friendly and helpful. The HOTEL was awesome - even with the creaky floor - I guess after 250 years of use, the floor can be creaky. The hotel was clean, and the room spacious. The dining facilities was awesome. The food and service 5 star quality. There was nothing in the service to criticize. Will stay anytime I am in Darlington, as they could not be beat for their QUALITY..

We actually stayed a week instead of just 3 days, and were super well cared for by personable staff----including being loaned a bucket of soapy water and a brush to clean off my father's grave marker and my grandparents' tombstone in the graveyard of the church next door!

"Excellent food let down by accommodation"
The bar is excellent and serves top quality food. staff are really helpful and friendly. However it was let down by the accommodation, which is outdated not very comfortable and my room was never cleaned or replenished with tea/coffee, towels etc.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

Pub and food was very good,apart from my wife's dessert. Am afraid the room had been decorated in a cheap and tacky style. Ensuite was also not very clean. When we booked in the bar manageress or owner asked the waitress to show us to our room. Generally good only let down by the fact that we were not informed about inability to check in between 3pm and 6pm, even although we phoned only to get the answer phone. "Really nice friendly and warming place"
Stayed at this bed and breakfast for a night as me and a couple of friends we're doing a bike event the next day, we found it very warming and friendly the food was good and the rooms were very clean and tidy. Would defiantly stay here again.Genuine Hotels.com guest review

farmers arms is a nice rather than brilliant pub/hotel.room was nice enough but would have been nice to have a bath rather than just a shower.restaurant was nice but way overpriced for a pub.service on the night we were there was a bit slow to say the least.i would stay again but with reservations.Genuine Expedia guest review
